Hello! I am Carolyn Thombs a professional makeup artist living in the Northern Virginia area, but I am willing to travel depending on your needs. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you to see if I am the right choice as your artist for your special day! Now here is a little bit about how I approach the art of makeup.
I am not just a Professional Makeup Artist, I approach each client and face as a piece of artwork. Each client's face is differnt and has different needs, therefore each piece is an original translating your inner beauty to the surface for everyone to see. Each client is provided with an indepth consultation ensuring that services provided to them are tailored specifically for their needs and desires. I only use high quality products and am also flexibile as to each client's sensitivities.
I do weddings, commercial and editorial photo shoots as well as hands on consulting in the Virginia, DC, Maryland, New York, Charlottesville and Philadelphia areas and am willing to travel outside of these areas as well.

Amazing Experience with Carolyn!
During the trial, Carolyn was very open to feedback and willing to experiment with different styles and looks until everything felt just right. She had a calm, reassuring presence, exactly what I needed on my wedding day.
I had a larger bridal party, and Carolyn and her team did an amazing job staying on schedule while still delivering beautiful, high-quality results for everyone. Many of my bridesmaids have said they now use their hair and makeup from my wedding as inspiration for other weddings because they loved their looks so much.

Then came the wedding weekend… Carolyn hit it out of the park for every single part. She did my hair and makeup for the rehearsal dinner… and it SLAYED!!! Then came the wedding day… And Carolyn literally saved the day. I was so happy with my makeup and wanted to make sure it lasted all day. Even thought we didn’t book it, I asked her on the spot to stay for touchups, and she moved her schedule around to accommodate me. Not only that… but I ended up needing my hair (done by another artist) touched up too and she made it perfect for the isle.
Carolyn, I could never say thank you enough. You made me and all my bridesmaids and family look incredible, and I will cherish your work through our pictures forever.
