Jewish Ceremony for Interfaith Couple
Cantor Nesis was a huge asset to my (now) husband and I as we planned our wedding ceremony. We are an interfaith couple who wanted a Jewish ceremony that felt comfortable for us both. We found Cantor Nesis online, by chance, and we are so lucky that we did. Cantor Nesis walked us through the entire process, starting about one year out from our wedding date. She provided us with recommended readings, and got to know us through zoom calls and emails. She discovered what was most important to us in a wedding ceremony and what she created was perfect for us both. Our guests still talk about her beautiful singing voice! Our ceremony was our favorite part of our wedding thanks to what Cantor Nesis created. She made our ceremony personal, romantic, heartfelt and added in the perfect touch of humor. She personalized the ceremony and made it “us” or as many of our guests commented “it was so you” and I couldn’t be more grateful for that. She helped us pick and choose the pieces of a Jewish ceremony that we felt were right for us, and she explained the traditions to our guests in a meaningful and concise way. During the planning process, she provided us with a lot of education as we learned about the Jewish wedding and helped us understand the pieces. Working with her throughout the year leading up to our wedding filled us with a great sense of peace and trust. We didn’t have to stress over the logistics of the ceremony and the sequence of events, but instead gave her our preferences and let her fill in the blanks. She was always willing to answer questions and meet with us. While planning our wedding, my husband and I frequently mentioned to each other how glad we were that we booked with her because it was one of the few pieces that were not at all stressful. When she arrived on our wedding day, she brought with her a sense of calm that I could not be more grateful for. She reminded us in the midst of a very busy and stressful moment, that nothing else mattered besides our love for one another and the vows we would soon be taking. I was so grateful to have her on that day, and the days leading up to our wedding. Our wedding ceremony was a gift, and I could not imagine anyone else officiating it other than Cantor Nesis. The moment in time when she sang the seven blessings was one of the most peaceful and joyful moments of the day, and it is a moment in time I will feel and appreciate for the rest of my life. It was absolutely beautiful. We were lucky to have been able to work with her and I would recommend her to anyone and everyone.
