Alittle bit about us.

We are a small, Family owned Restaurant. We are proud to be a Premier Caterer at the Villa del Sol for over 25 years. At Hidalgo’s we use Fresh, Sustainable, primarily In-House Ingredients meaning whatever you try will be made with care. Each item was thoughtfully curated by our Chef, Scott Rosales and Sous Chef, Ricardo Cardiel. Our Bar Manager, Jason Phreaner, also oversees our sister Restaurant’s Bar Program at The Cellar Restaurant so you and your guests are sure to enjoy only the best of quality drinks. Recently named a ‘Best Restaurant in OC’ by Orange Coast Magazine, we hope this shows our guests the dedication and pride we take in our food, service, and cocktails; just as a Family Restaurant should.

Our goal is to make the time you share with us as exciting and memorable as possible. While we have catered many special events, we understand that each is unique to the couple. We strive to make all accommodations possible to help you customize an event that is truly your own. We value all of our guests, as you allow us to do what we love. Amazing food, service, and attention to detail.

We chose Hidalgo’s over the other spaces because they made us feel really special. We did a tasting and when we compared, they were by far the best. While I know they get booked a lot, they treated us like our event was the only one. I’m beyond happy with our choice to have Hidalgo’s cater our special day. Photo as example.

My husband and I got married last June at The Villa del Sol and we couldn't be happier with Cafe Hidalgo. We had them as our caterer, did buffet style and the food was truly high quality. Our guests were very pleased with the appetizers during the cocktail hour and the house sangria was fresh and delicious as usual. After our wedding, our guests shared how good the food was and of course we couldn't have agreed more. There were no complaints that day, the staff was very helpful and quick on their feet. Also, we had Dena help us as our wedding planner and I want to say it was the best thing we could have done. She met with us several times, gave us amazing advice regarding our decor, timeline and food options. We explained what we had in mind, brought the wedding props and she did the rest. Day of Wedding we came to a gorgeous looking venue that demonstrated exactly what we had visioned. She is so talented and has amazing taste! We strongly recommend this catering venue, and of course, their wedding planner! :)

Love Dena! She is the Director of Catering & Special Events for Cafe Hidalgo. The food is sooooo delicious and that's what sold me to hire them for my wedding. Then I find out that Dena offers her services as wedding coordinator for the day and let me tell you. HIRE HER! She ensured my wedding day would go smoothly from setting up our menu, itinerary, wedding procession, problem solving, etc. I wish I had her through the whole process and not just one day. The food is so tasty and I loved how affordable it was. Plus if you want a small wedding or small event, you can have it at the restaurant and save yourself even more money.

Absolute best catering ever! Dena David and her team were so accommodating and so easy to work with during our planning! I worried about nothing on the wedding day, I knew everything was taken care of. Food was simply delicious, our guests still tell how amazing the food was. Service on the wedding day was fabulous! Could not give enough words to say how grateful we are to the whole team and how much they helped make our special day so fantastic!

After looking at multiple venues for our wedding nothing feeling right we came across Café Hidalgo and Dena the Wedding Coordinator. After Talking with Dena my wife and I knew there wasn't any need to look anywhere else. Dena was amazing and very helpful and the Venue was everything we wanted because we wanted a smaller more personal wedding. Dena made everything she had Available to us and made Our Wedding AMAZING! we got compliments from everyone that went they said "they haven't had that much fun in awhile." There just isn't enough amazing things I could say for Dena and Café Hidalgo. I would recommend this to anyone that asks!

Cafe Hidalgo, Dena David, & the amazing staff were phenomenal in the service they provided for our amazing wedding! The food options were good, & allowed a bit of flexibility in what to serve. The catering is best utilized (in my opinion) with the buffet options. Its a good fit for the food choices & a good fit with the Villa Del Sol venue. We also hired Dena as our day of wedding coordinator at the Villa Del Sol, which allowed us to share our vision & setup details, to which she delivered above & beyond everything we could have imagined! The staff was very helpful, & we were so happy with the service!

The best of the best! You must hire Dena as your wedding coordinator if you get married at Villa Del Sol! She is amazing at what she does. She was so incredibly helpful every step of the way and so down to earth. Dena responded promptly via email to all my questions, comments and concerns. She made the wedding day so stress free! I completely trusted her with everything and she did not let us down. I highly recommend hiring Dena as your wedding coordinator and booking Cafe Hildago as your caterer! :)

Wonderful caterer and day-of coordinator! Dena was so incredibly helpful and responsive during the whole entire process. We were able to create a custom menu to meet our budget, and she also let us order whatever craft beer we wanted! She has been doing this for a long time, so she was able to give us a lot of insight on what would work best for our set up.

The day before the wedding was extremely chaotic for me, and she went out of her way to help prepare our DIY centerpieces for me so that I could go get my nails done and head to rehearsal. On the day of, I was so amazed when I saw the reception area. It was exactly how I envisioned it! Dena went above and beyond and made the courtyard look absolutely beautiful. During the reception, Dena made sure that my husband and I were able to eat, and also made sure that our beer glasses were always full! We received so many compliments on the food as well as the décor.

If you are getting married at the Villa del Sol, I highly recommend choosing Café Hidalgo as your caterer and hiring Dena as your day-of coordinator. I absolutely loved them!

The manager of the catering department (Deanna) and her staff are very helpful, always every thing looked under control and very organized and or course beautiful because since you step over there, you get the vintage sensation also I hear from my brides that the food is delicious !! For me Villa del Sol and Cafe Hidalgo are one the most romantic places I had been visited in my cake deliveries.
