I love cake and I'm usually so disappointed when I have other people's wedding/birthday cakes because they all taste the same: flavorless, waxy, dry. I found Martha at Artistic Cakes doing a deep dive on Wedding Wire and I'm so impressed. Martha was very easy to communicate with via email and I had my mom do the cake tasting since I live in Portland, OR and I was coordinating my wedding from afar. All of her cakes were delicious. We decided on doing a three tier cake with simple white italian frosting. The cakes were moist and so delicious without being too sweet. The frosting was the perfect amount. Martha was kind enough to lend us her cake stand and deliver the cake and decorate it with flowers from my florist. If you want your cake to be the star dessert, go hire Martha!

Martha is truly a wonderful person. She provided the best service of all our vendors. Sometimes it is hard to find honest vendors when it comes to special events, but Martha was so responsive and helpful during the entire process.

Her work was truly breathtaking. Her cake and cupcakes tasted amazing and so moist. EVERYONE was in love with how beautiful our cake looked! Her prices were also very reasonable. Can’t wait to book with her for our future events.

We couldn't have asked for anything better! Searching for vendors for our wedding was starting to get overwhelming and finding Martha was such a huge blessing. She not only opened up her home to us for a cake tasting (we highly recommend this experience) but also explained all of her flavors of cake, icing, and fillings and made wonderful recommendations for pairings as we tried them.
Even when we picked the style of cake we wanted, she didn't hesitate to gave us additional design ideas and wanted everything to match our wedding colors. Throughout the whole planning stage, she made extra effort to stay in contact with us and keep us updated with her timeline (I can't stress how important this was as we had to keep trying to contact our other vendors as the day approached, which was such a hassle). She truly made us feel like we were an important family member to her and that she was trying everything to make sure our cake turned out the way we imagined it. And on wedding day she had the cake delivered and set up at our reception to perfection. It was such a wonderful experience all throughout that we will definitely be using Martha again for any future events we have.

Wow what an experience, the cake was excellent in beauty and in taste. I would recommend Artistic Cakes/Martha Acosta to my friends and family or anyone who is looking for a cake. I had requested the top cake to be gluten free because of the bride and she loved it. Martha was professional and did everything she said she was going to do. I was so pleased with the service she provided and for making this a wonderful experience.

I'm so glad I found Martha on Wedding Wire. Due to covid, our regular destination wedding was canceled so I had to find a local cake vendor for our zoom wedding. This review is just for the tasting and I will post an update after the wedding, but I had to write this review because the tasting was delicious and smart at the same time. Because of covid, the tasting was more of a take home tasting. Martha prepared the various cake samples, fillings, and icings in some to-go boxes like the picture I attached. I've done other cake tastings and this one was the smartest method of cake tasting because we received a variety of cakes, icings, and fillings separately so that we were able to taste each combination and make a more knowledgeable decision. With other vendors, I had to prechoose the cake/filing combinations, but I'm not an expert on cake or filling so I was just shooting in the dark and hoping that Bavarian something was good (its not my taste). Other vendors also didn't let me tast icing variations, but Martha did! I get a headache with certain icings like with store bought cakes, but Martha makes this natural icing that is perfect. My fiance usually hates icing, but he loved the natural icing. By the way, the cake samples themselves were soo fluffy and delicious! It was difficult to just pick one combination so we increased our order from a one layer to a two layer cake with two different cake and filling cominations. Martha is a true professional and I would recommend her to anyone.


Update: I received my cake a few days ago and everything was perfect. The cake was here on time. It looked beautiful, and was incredibly tasty. I definitely recommend Artistic Cakes!.

My husband and I tried out several vendors before choosing Martha to design and make our beautiful wedding cake on 10.26.19. While other vendors were flakey and unreliable when it came to responding to our messages or setting up tastings, Martha was always incredibly responsive, friendly, helpful and very professional. We previously tried a well-known cake vendor for a tasting - Cake Studio of LA - and we were very disappointed with the tasting experience - the samples of cake were so tiny and we felt like we were rushed and not a priority. But with Martha, we were invited to her lovely home for the tasting, and she had an incredible amount of delicious pieces of cake, filling and frosting for us to try. She designed a gorgeous cake for us and even made two red velvet cupcakes for us to give to our daughters at the wedding. We highly recommend Martha!

Martha is an absolute godsend! I could not have asked for a more beautiful cake and dessert table. The minute I saw the cake and dessert table I was blown away with how gorgeous everything looked. From my very first meeting with Martha she put my mind to ease and completely worked with my vision. Not only were her cakes beautiful but they are more importantly (in my opinion) so DELICIOUS! We choose the Almond Cake with Raspberry filling and Vanilla and Pina Colada filling. All of our guests kept complimenting on how moist and yummy the cake and desserts were. I will forever be grateful to Martha for her love and exceptional attention to detail. Look no further and hire Artistic Cakes!
