I've used Blondie's several times in the past for cakes, so when it was time to plan my daughter's wedding, I knew I wanted to talk to Cindy. My daughter decided she wanted Smith Island cakes (the official Maryland state dessert) for her wedding, and so we were pleasantly surprised that Cindy has experience making them!

Cindy was gracious enough to have our cake tasting the day after Christmas since the bride was visiting home in Maryland from out of state. Cindy prepared several flavors of cakes and icings for us to try. Each one was so good! The bride chose a 2-tiered red velvet Smith Island cake for the main wedding cake. For the other Smith Island cake flavors, she chose a traditional vanilla with chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, strawberry cream, and pumpkin spice -- enough for our 100+ guests. Every cake was delicious, and we received rave reviews from everyone.

Our wedding cake designer, Cindy, invited us to her bakery shop to have coffee. We arrived to a lovely table of our choice of tester cupcakes, fillings and icings. This was a wonderful experience. Cindy's staff was polite and courteous. Cindy greeted us as we arrived and gave us a beautiful display of her works of art. Cindy is very accommodating and took an invested interest in our special day.

On our wedding day our cake arrived and was displayed on our appropriate table. Our wedding guest commented on how lovely our cake was and how lovely it suited our ocean theme.

This is the BEST cake shop in the DMV area:o) The staff at Blondie's is very customer-oriented, and there's not one item there that's bad. I've tried just about every item, including the coffee. Our wedding cake and cupcakes were fabulous!! I'm still getting inquiries from our guests about "who made the cake":o)) I'm a customer for LIFE:o)

So many of my guests told us "This is the first wedding cake that has actually tasted good".

I told Blondie that I did not want a super sweet cake as I hate having that sugar caked on along with being only able to eat a little. She delivered perfectly! They kept with the simple off-white butter cream cake that I had hoped we would get.

She did not disappoint and I would happily recommend her to any bride to be.

Our cake was definitely the most delicious cake I've ever had at a wedding. It was moist and rich and most people went back for a second slice. Cindy also did a fantastic job with our design, it was even better than the picture we saw. We can't wait for our anniversary cake so we can enjoy it again!

Cindy provided the most amazing cupcakes for our wedding! From the initial contact through the tasting and the execution of the wedding - Cindy was perfect!

Cindy had us over for a cupcake flavor tasting to see what combinations of flavors we would want - and there was every combination we could thing of! We wound up choosing four different flavors of cupcake with differing fillings - and they were all superb!

The cutting cake that Cindy made for us was perfectly done as well - it was filled with raspberries and cream - and made for some great pictures of us feeding each other!

The decorating on the cake and cupcakes was top-notch. Everything had a vineyard theme - and we couldn't have asked for better looking decorating! The setup for the cupcakes was just perfect, as well - it was at least 6 or 7 layers high in an open round stand which was perfect to go on top of the wine barrel. Cindy had special ordered the stand just for the wedding!

Cindy absolutely will meet every need that you have - and you'll have a perfectly baked wedding treats!

We had cupcakes and a ceremonial cake for our wedding. We chose fall flavored - pumpkin, apple spice, - and then my favorite red velvet. People are still talking about how deliciously amazing the cupcakes were! Not all of them were eaten at our wedding (sorry for those who missed out!!), so I brought the rest to work and they were gone within an hour! Cindy is amazing!! She added walnuts to the pumpkin and raisins and apples to the apple spice - all with cream cheese frosting....basically heaven in a cupcake!! Our cake was delicious too and we look forward to next year when we will receive a fresh one to enjoy on our anniversary!

Blondie’s cakes are amazing! We went with the yellow rum cake and creamsicle cream cheese frosting for our June wedding, and we were absolutely delighted! The owner and her staff worked with our vision, and delivered. We were so pleased. I would hire her again for any future occasion, and you should, too. The only difficulty you will have is deciding which flavor(s) to go with!
