Joy Lager is a freelance makeup artist available for on-location work, servicing all areas between Pittsburgh, PA and Morgantown, WV. Bridal makeup is not only her specialty, but her passion!
Having been in the industry since 2001, Joy is a licensed makeup artist with over 15 years in the industry. She is also employed as a freelance makeup artist by M.A.C. Cosmetics, and earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. Her work has been featured in several magazine publications, including WV Wedding, The Knot, and Pittsburgh Magazine Wedding Edition. She is a recipient of Wedding Wire's Couples Choice Award from 2012-2017, and has also been voted as one of The Knot's 'Best Of' Wedding Picks from 2012-2017. Most recently, she has joined forces with several other Pittsburgh makeup artists to create the JL Makeup Studio, a one stop shop to where all of your bridal and beauty needs can be met!
Joy has worked with hundreds of bridal parties and brings years of experience, skill, creativity, and professionalism to every client she meets. She will be with you for every step of the process, helping to create your perfect look for the big day!

Makeup perfection
Joy is so extremely talented. I was very worried about my make-up for my wedding day because I wear very limited make-up on a daily basis and really don't know much about make-up products, etc.
I explained to Joy that I wanted a simple/natural look but also wanted it to be special and enough for my big day. She totally nailed it. I was SO happy with it, 100% confident that it was perfect. I received SO many compliments all day.
In addition, my bridesmaids, moms & flower girl LOVED their make up as well. Two of them even said to me that this is the first time they had their make up done and actually loved it.
Joy and her team are so incredibly professional, respond to you immediately, show up early, really everything you could ask for.
