About Our Venue
Barr Mansion is an immaculately landscaped seven-acre estate with unique options for indoor and outdoor weddings.
Event space options include the Mansion –an Eastlake Victorian homestead built in 1898 by Braxton Barr, the Ballroom – an 1800’s Dutch Barn, and the Farmstead – a modern open air concept.
In addition to the breathtaking grounds and architecture, we also provide many of the services that you’ll need to host a memorable wedding/event, certified organic cuisine and delicious desserts, outstanding staff, dining and bar, lounge, and decorative rentals; and coordination services.

Barr Mansion, located in Austin, Texas, is a full-service wedding venue. The venue has catered for weddings for over 40 years, and their experienced coordination staff can help you plan a wedding surrounded by natural beauty and nostalgic charm. The venue’s in-house catering team serve local organic dishes that are sure to leave a lasting impression on your guests.
Facilities and Capacity
Barr Mansion offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor event spaces suitable for receptions and ceremonies:
The Ballroom features a 40-foot glass wall and live greenery.
The 3,300-square-foot versatile space can accommodate:
- 250 for a seated reception (with no dance floor) or
- 175 with room for a dance floor
The Farmstead is a covered outdoor space, modern in design, with an element of country-chic perfect for a reception or covered ceremony. The space incorporates high ceilings, and an abundance of natural light.
It is a 2,875-square-foot space, which can seat:
- 250 for a seated dinner (with no dance floor) or
- 100 with room for a dance floor
The Mansion
Which is over 120 years old, makes the perfect meeting place for the wedding party and features separate bridal and groom suites. The Mansion makes the ideal backdrop for a ceremony or cocktail hour on the front lawn. To the side of the Mansion is the Grand Lawn, an 8,000-square-foot area suitable for a tented reception of up to 300 people. The grounds also feature several other lawn and patio spaces ideal for intimate ceremonies or cocktail parties.

We absolutely loved our experience with Barr Mansion! We did a small wedding package with them and it was absolutely a wonderful choice for us. The venue is so beautiful, the staff is on point, their food is great. Seriously, we would recommend this venue to anyone. Caryn was our planner there and she was fantastic. She really worked with us from start to finish and always supported us with every change we made. This place is a well oiled machine! Caryn and the staff at Barr made our entire wedding planning and day a breeze! -

I recently got married at Barr Mansion, and it was truly an incredible experience from start to finish. The wedding would not have been what it was without the help of Molly, who thankfully picked up the phone the day we wanted to visit the property. Throughout the year, Molly guided us through the entire wedding planning process, helped us put together an all-star lineup of vendors, and made sure that our wedding was truly the wedding of our dreams. Molly made us feel heard and if there was any detail we were excited about, she made us even more excited. She has a way of making you feel like you are putting together the most incredible event of all time, and she does everything in her power to make sure everything goes off as smoothly as possible. She went above and beyond to ensure everything exceeded our expectations, putting immense thought and care into the days leading up to the wedding and the wedding itself. This meant ensuring we felt confident in the food selection, making sure the lawn was as pristine as possible and organizing everything with the vendors ahead of time. We will never be able to thank Molly enough for all of the wonderful things she did to make our dream wedding come true.
Barr Mansion itself is a gorgeous venue if you are looking for something upscale yet rustic. The Mansion provides a historic backdrop and perfect place for final getting ready touches and pictures. The lawn and landscaping, especially when in bloom, are stunning. The farmstead and ballroom also offer incredibly unique options that happen to provide the perfect rainy day backup plans. Also, it is a bonus that it is a zero-waste facility and is constantly working towards becoming a more sustainable venue.
We also have to give a massive thank you to Chef Nicholas and Pastry Chef Sarah. The food was outstanding! Our guests are still raving about the food and how delicious everything was. Every dish was unique, tasty, and filling. The late-night pizza, served fresh from the brick oven, was also some of the best we have ever had.
The team at Barr really did a phenomenal job. I want to especially thank Hollie for always answering questions quickly and making me and my family feel so special, Debbie for creating incredible cocktails and making sure the drinks were flowing, and Bella and Claudia, who both offered extra day-of support that was positively flawless.

As a photographer who has shot at almost every venue in town I can say that the Barr Mansion has THE best food offered! The beauty of the venue speaks for itself. I just wanted to comment on the excellent food! If your a foodie, this is your venue.
We always look forward to working at Barr Mansion. The mansion, ballroom, pavilion, and grounds are breathtaking. The food is great too!
We love playing at the Barr Mansion! An Austin original, it has the most stunning grounds imaginable and now with the new ballroom, has a fantastic indoor option. The staff are always lovely to work with and we always look forward to our weddings and parties here!
