Book Barr Mansion, book Molly Mulally as your coordinator, and have the best wedding you’ve ever been to.

Our wedding at Barr Mansion exceeded all of our wildest dreams and imaginations — I have never been to a better wedding.

We were originally supposed to get married at Barr Mansion in 2021 but moved our wedding due to covid and the team was incredibly considerate, helpful, and accommodating.

Barr Mansion overall as a venue and an aesthetic is an absolute dream. Getting married under the pecan tree made us feel like we were getting married under the actual tree of life (and have you seen how gorgeous it is in photos?) And there is nothing prettier than getting married in the ballroom with all of the gorgeous ivy inside the glass wall — add the edison bulb chandelier with some greenery and it is absolutely stunning.

The food at Barr Mansion is second to none. They have creative and impactful menu options that you can curate to exactly what you want. Food for our wedding was incredibly important to my husband and I and the Barr Mansion team really worked with us to make sure our options would be unique and a reflection of our love of food. On the day everything was incredible and our friends and family were very happy and well fed. Also, the desserts were awesome, most people don't love wedding cake, but Barr Mansion has very unique flavors (we had orange cake with camomile icing) and between the wedding cake and the salted pecan cheesecake bites, everyone raved about dessert.

But, by far the best thing about the Barr Mansion experience is the team. Everyone we interacted with was kind and helpful and thoughtful. However, the absolute legend of the team is the coordinator Molly Mulally. We booked the coordinator package through Barr Mansion and Molly was our coordinator — we did not utilize any outside wedding planner, and Molly really made us feel that everything was in hand. Molly had suggestions and advice as we looked to book outside vendors, and in the weeks leading up to the wedding she reached out to all of our outside vendors and coordinated logistics for the day-of.

Planning a wedding is a deeply personal and intimate thing, and I felt absolutely in the best hands with Molly as our coordinator. On the actual day I felt cool and calm because I knew Molly was taking care of everything, and because any little concern I had on the day she took into stride and was a very calming presence. In the actual planning process in the year plus leading up to our day, no questions was too small for Molly, and she normally responded to emails almost instantaneously. She had helpful suggestions and thoughts for everything, and took incredible notes. She will make sure you are on track from a planning timeline perspective and is incredibly supportive in making sure the day reflects you and your significant other. On the actual day our family could all tell what an absolutely incredibly human Molly is and commented as such to us. She is an absolute gem and an outstanding wedding coordinator through and through.

Perfect Wedding at Barr Mansion

Barr Mansion was the perfect venue for our wedding, and we are so grateful we chose it. After touring several venues, we immediately knew Barr was the one. The atmosphere is magical—elegant, welcoming, and stunning, especially the ballroom with its vine-covered, floor-to-ceiling windows.

The food was exceptional. The on-site catering team went above and beyond, from the focaccia to the potato leek soup, scallops, wedding cake, and late-night honey chicken butter biscuits. The s’mores station was also a big hit with guests!

We loved that Barr Mansion is conveniently located in Austin, offering a serene yet accessible setting. Huge thanks to Zachary, Sarah, and the entire team for their energy, positivity, and incredible organization. They made our wedding dreams come to life!

We’ll always cherish our time at Barr Mansion and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable location for their big day!

Like out of a movie!

Oh my goodness, I don’t even know where to start! Honestly, don’t even look anywhere else—this is the place! From the moment I signed the contract in August 2023 to leaving in a getaway car with my husband in September 2024, the BM staff made me feel like their top priority. They were beyond accommodating, welcoming every idea I had and thoughtfully managing details I hadn’t even thought of.

I loved being able to show my parents the space at the ‘Under the Stars’ event (definitely check this out if you’re considering the venue!), having a private menu tasting that fit our out-of-town schedule (the chef and the food here are simply phenomenal and a major highlight for our guests), and capturing a sweet photoshoot with my mom a few months before the wedding.

Every chance I had to visit the venue and spend time with the amazing team, I took it! The staff was so cool, calm, and collected—I couldn’t have felt more confident that everything would be perfect. Not to mention, the venue and property are just breathtaking! So many of our guests said it felt like a scene from a movie and was by far the best wedding they’d ever been to. I wish I could do it all over again!

Great Wedding Venue

Barr did a wonderful job for our wedding that was in early March. Throughout the entire planning process everyone who assisted was very responsive, helpful and patient with our many questions. On the day of the wedding everyone at Barr was upbeat and very organized. As far as I know our coordinator didn't have any issues with deliveries or set up and I can't express how nice it is to glide through your wedding day knowing that all has gone according to plan.

The dinner was awesome! We personally loved every course and our guests are still telling us how delicious it was. I will admit we were a little nervous since we hadn't tried any of the items we selected at our tasting since it was held in a different season than our wedding date, but all were fabulous.

Our guest were also super impressed with the bar staff. They brought the BEST energy. We had a heavy drinking crowd and everyone who attended raved about how much the bartenders hustled. We had so many people talk about how cool the bartenders were, we wanted a party wedding and could not have achieved it without their hype.

Hire Molly Mullaly!

Barr Mansion is a stunning venue to have a wedding at. However, our special day was the best day ever thanks to our day of coordinator, who became our full blown wedding planner, Molly Mullaly. She went above and beyond to make sure that everything was running smoothly on our day, and leading up to our wedding day she guided us with the best vendors and made sure we were all prepared with everything needed. She is a natural at what she does and is so professional, but at the same time makes you feel like she's known you forever. I am so thankful to have had her by my side on our wedding day, because she truly is the reason it was the best day ever. I even gave her a speech at the wedding to let her know how much we appreciated everything she did. She is truly the best!

Barr Mansion and Keena for the WIN!

I don't know if I can recommend anything as much as I'd recommend Barr Mansion for your wedding! As described by our guests, it was "magical!" As you can see from the photos, the grounds and buildings are stunning and the perfect balance of outdoor/botanical and indoor/elegance. Keena and her team were rockstars; she was so helpful especially given we were planning from 2k miles away. Day before, we handed over the decor and I realized later I didn't give her any directions, because I just knew I didn't need to! She made everything so easy. The farm-to-table food is delicious; we didn't get a single complaint from our guests (trust me, we would have!). And the team made sure we got our own tray of apps as well as a takeaway box of food and desserts! Our guests are still talking about our venue one month later. I wish I could host every party at Barr; it was the perfect day!

Best wedding staff ever, 10/10!!

Barr Mansion is the absolute best!! I myself do not feel like i am the best planner and the staff of Barr Mansion made the planning process so seamless and easy. All of the food, service, tables, and linens are done in house which made the process stress free for me. On top of that, they provide you with a wedding coordinator to help guide you through the process. We were assigned to Molly Mulally who was an absolute ANGEL. Molly went above and beyond for us throughout the entire process from the day we signed the contract to the wedding day. I can’t say enough about how phenomenal Molly and the entire staff is at Barr Mansion… Trust the suggested vendors from the staff because they all love what they do and it shows!

Best and Easiest Wedding

Even though I never thought I'd plan a wedding, my now wife told me to do it because she was too busy focusing on her education. Barr Mansion's staff quickly allowed us to book and assigned us a "Day-Of" coordinator Molly. Before the event, Molly met with us multiple times, answered questions, drafted outlines, and made sure we had rock solid plans. Additionally, she independently worked with each of our vendors and even brought to my attention a few miscommunications/errors (on my part) in the plan. During the event, the Barr Mansion staff, including Molly, made sure all things went off without a hitch. Weirdly enough, I never knew where Molly was until I needed her support on something. Many of our guests let me know the staff was incredible as well. Between the Barr Mansion support, Molly's support, and Barr Mansion's recommended vendor list, I could not imagine an easier wedding to plan. Lastly, many of my guests and most importantly my wife said that it was their favorite wedding they have ever been to.

Highly recommend this venue!

Our wedding at Barr Mansion was better than we ever could have imagined. The venue is really beautiful, and they have a few different spaces you can use throughout the day/night. We live in Boston but are both originally from Texas, so we wanted to have our wedding in Austin and Barr Mansion made it so easy to plan our wedding (even from another state)! Not only do they handle many things themselves in-house (e.g., the food, which our guests could not stop raving about, tables/basic linens, furniture rentals, cake), but they also have relationships with many absolutely amazing vendors, so they were able to run with many things on their own (e.g., coordinating with the florist who also knew Barr Mansion well). It made everything run so smoothly.

We also cannot say enough GREAT things about our coordinator, Molly, who was incredibly thoughtful and on top of everything. Leading up to the big day, she kept things very organized by checking in with us regularly and sending us lists of outstanding items. On the day of, it really felt like she was everywhere all at once - my mom commented that she would look around for something and 5 seconds later Molly would be there to see what she needed. She really made us feel supported and like a part of the Barr Mansion family!

Also, we were one of those COVID couples that had to postpone multiple times, and the venue/Molly were incredibly understanding and flexible. I have heard so many stories about other venues that made it very difficult for the couple, and I never once felt any frustration from the venue or anyone about the situation. They were very supportive and so excited for us when the big day finally came, which meant so much to us.

The Barr Mansion is such an incredibly beautiful venue, well maintained, with so many cute spots for photos! If you're looking for class and elegance engulfed with natural beauty, look no further... this is the wedding venue for you! The staff and management team went above and beyond to ensure that our couple's event was nothing short of amazing, and that every detail was executed just as they envisioned! From start to finish, Molly was always available and very responsive with our questions in a timely manner! As a vendor, if I had the option to give Barr Mansion 10 stars, I certainly would! Highly, highly recommend!

Worth Every Penny

We absolutely loved our experience with Barr Mansion! We did a small wedding package with them and it was absolutely a wonderful choice for us. The venue is so beautiful, the staff is on point, their food is great. Seriously, we would recommend this venue to anyone. Caryn was our planner there and she was fantastic. She really worked with us from start to finish and always supported us with every change we made. This place is a well oiled machine! Caryn and the staff at Barr made our entire wedding planning and day a breeze!

Wedding in less than 100 days

When we realized we had to plan our wedding in less than 100 days and re-schedule all our vendors to move the wedding from the Bay Area to Austin, our anxiety was high. However, Caryn, Molly, Hollie and the entire Barr Mansion team made us feel like family. From the initial walk through of the venue to planning out every minute of the reception - we are so fortunate to have gotten to work with such a flexible, responsive, and kind team. Our guests loved the elevated casual look of the reception area and with its natural vines and raved about the food and cake after the wedding. 10/10 would recommend Barr Mansion to anyone looking to get married.

A beautiful venue and incredible team

I recently got married at Barr Mansion, and it was truly an incredible experience from start to finish. The wedding would not have been what it was without the help of Molly, who thankfully picked up the phone the day we wanted to visit the property. Throughout the year, Molly guided us through the entire wedding planning process, helped us put together an all-star lineup of vendors, and made sure that our wedding was truly the wedding of our dreams. Molly made us feel heard and if there was any detail we were excited about, she made us even more excited. She has a way of making you feel like you are putting together the most incredible event of all time, and she does everything in her power to make sure everything goes off as smoothly as possible. She went above and beyond to ensure everything exceeded our expectations, putting immense thought and care into the days leading up to the wedding and the wedding itself. This meant ensuring we felt confident in the food selection, making sure the lawn was as pristine as possible and organizing everything with the vendors ahead of time. We will never be able to thank Molly enough for all of the wonderful things she did to make our dream wedding come true.

Barr Mansion itself is a gorgeous venue if you are looking for something upscale yet rustic. The Mansion provides a historic backdrop and perfect place for final getting ready touches and pictures. The lawn and landscaping, especially when in bloom, are stunning. The farmstead and ballroom also offer incredibly unique options that happen to provide the perfect rainy day backup plans. Also, it is a bonus that it is a zero-waste facility and is constantly working towards becoming a more sustainable venue.

We also have to give a massive thank you to Chef Nicholas and Pastry Chef Sarah. The food was outstanding! Our guests are still raving about the food and how delicious everything was. Every dish was unique, tasty, and filling. The late-night pizza, served fresh from the brick oven, was also some of the best we have ever had.

The team at Barr really did a phenomenal job. I want to especially thank Hollie for always answering questions quickly and making me and my family feel so special, Debbie for creating incredible cocktails and making sure the drinks were flowing, and Bella and Claudia, who both offered extra day-of support that was positively flawless.

Best Wedding EVER

I can't express enough how amazing our experience was at Barr Mansion! From the first time I called and got Molly on the phone, the whole planning process was seamless and day of was executed perfectly. Molly ended up being our planner and her organization and attention to detail was so helpful. Unlike a lot of places, they offer the full package of food, bar, furniture which is less moving parts and less stress. The venue itself is beautiful but they tailored it to exactly what we wanted and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! Actively looking for another event to host here, don't wait and book this place ASAP!

Gorgeous, Delicious, AMAZING!

I recommend this venue to anyone and everyone. My family has been to a large amount of weddings and they all said "this is some of the best food I have had in such a long time". The venue is so gorgeous and has multiple options for weather changes day of. We had the absolute honor of having Molly as our Barr Mansion wedding planner and she not only is a phenomenal, kind, and caring person but an amazing planner. She also responded so quickly to emails and was always there for us. She made us feel like kings and queens during the wedding. The staff was so kind and thoughtful. I can't talk anymore highly of this venue. I could go on and on about how amazing the venue and staff are. Do yourself a favor and BOOK THEM NOW :)

One of our best decisions!

We were married at Barr Mansion on 1/17/22 and wanted to share how appreciative we were to work with the Barr Mansion team. My goal in wedding planning was to make it as low-stress and enjoyable for everyone (family, guests, vendors...and myself!) and that wouldn't have been possible if we had picked any other vendor. My wedding coordinator, Keena, was in contact with me as soon as we booked and was instrumental in creating the day-of timeline, answering all of my questions leading up to the day, and executing my vision on the day-of. I value responsiveness more than anything, and Keena was always prompt and detailed in her replies. Barr Mansion also had rentals available (which were much better priced than local vendors) and handled the catering and cake which was a huge lift off of us. The food was absolutely incredible (candidly, I wasn't super impressed at the tasting) and guests have continued to compliment us on the food! The cake was also amazing! Keena forced us to sit down and eat during the reception which was great (and much needed!). The venue was absolutely stunning and the day went off without issue, we're so glad we selected Barr Mansion and had the opportunity to work with Keena!

Best decision ever!

We got married at Barr Mansion on 1/9/22, and we loved everything about it. Our guests loved the food & beverage (the quality was top notch & so many organic options), many said it was the best food they have had at a wedding. Being farm to table is unique & they did not disappoint. The venue is beautiful & they offer everything you need for your wedding all in one spot. My husband and I both come from the event operations/hotel industry, so we are very familiar with what could go wrong at an event. We were blown away by the staff, and we would not have changed one thing that they did throughout the day. And Caryn.... she is absolutely amazing. She planned & executed our event flawlessly. She went above & beyond on every request & thought of literally everything. She was a dream to work with & the best wedding coordinator a couple could ask for. She is definitely one of the best in the industry. Our wedding unfortunately fell in the peak of the omicron wave, and we had so much changing and things to figure out before the wedding due to covid, I don't think we could have made it happen without her. Barr Mansion has a great network of vendors (highly recommend Eryn Chandler Photography, Blumen Floral, DJ Nixx, Around Austin, and All Dolled Up). Thanks to Barr Mansion for helping us have the perfect wedding, we feel so lucky!

Couldn't recommend more!

What can I say.... I am so, so thankful we chose Barr Mansion for our venue this fall! We worked with Molly and she couldn't have done a better job with keeping everything easy and organized for us and made for such an amazing day!! I couldn't be more appreciative of her gracious and fun demeanor and made me feel like I've known her for years. The venue was absolutely stunning and the night went so smooth from start to finish. At least in my eyes, which I guess is how your experience is supposed to be! :) I couldn't recommend Barr and Molly enough, you won't regret it!!

Barr Mansion was the absolute perfect venue for our daughter's wedding!

From the first trip to visit Barr Mansion, Senior Events Director Molly Mulally made our wedding planning so easy. Always a phone call/text or email away she promptly responded to any questions we had. Her attention to detail was phenomenal. She was with us every step of the way.. from booking the venue to lighting sparklers for us at the end of the reception! She is awesome and we highly recommend Barr Mansion for a beautiful wedding venue and Molly as the Coordinator.

The BEST venue in Austin

Barr Mansion is not only gorgeous, but the staff make the planning experience SO much easier. We specifically had Caryn as our coordinator through Barr Mansion (highly recommend getting upgraded day of coordination); she went above and beyond to fully understand my wedding vision, get all the details right, and made the wedding day run so smoothly through her calm demeanor and quick problem solving skills. Everyone at our wedding commented on the beauty of the venue as well as the food and our coordinator. I can't imagine getting married anywhere else. Book this venue now!

Barr is amazing, so is molly

We only toured one other venue before seeing Barr and absolutely fell in love with it. It’s only 15-20 minutes from Downtown Austin, but legitimately feels like you’re in another world outside the city. The entire feel of the place, the greenery, tree, mansion, ballroom, farmstead is all stunning. They have so many options of ceremony, dinner, and dancing set-up that you have plans in place already if it rains on your day. It never was a concern for us, as there always was a backup option. It is an all-inclusive venue so food, cake, bartending services (+ mixers), tables, linens, day-of-coordinator are all included. All of our guests have absolutely raved about our food and how delicious it was. But the best part was our coordinator, Molly. You have the option to upgrade the coordinating service to more than just day-of (we didn’t), but we were assigned Molly as our coordinator and she was hands-down so freakin’ incredible. From dealing with our parents to answering our million questions and requests, she never was phased. She literally eased any anxiety or nerve I had about our day and took all the pressure and stress off of us. She’s an incredible wedding planner and an even better friend!

Amazing venue & staff

I cannot say enough good things about Barr Mansion and how thankful I am that we chose them. We booked our wedding at the start of 2020 before the pandemic, and knew pretty early on that we would have to move it. They were incredibly accommodating and helpful in selecting a new date for October 2021.

The entire staff was wonderful from the servers, bartenders and assistants but especially our planner Molly. She was responsive over email during our planning phase and for the rehearsal and wedding day took charge and made a difficult job seem easy. She anticipated things we never thought of and made the entire experience better for having been a part of it.

Our dinner, desserts and cake were all absolutely delicious and every single guest I spoke to mentioned how much they loved the food.

If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a single thing - thank you to all of Barr Mansion for making it an incredible night that none of our friends or family will ever forget!

We are SO grateful to have had our wedding at Barr Mansion. It was a great experience from start to finish. We first booked our wedding date for Sept 2020 so of course we had to cancel due to COVID. They allowed us to reschedule our wedding date for Sept 2021 at no additional charge. Our day-of coordinator was Margaret Deal. She's amazing!! She was cool, calm and answered any and all questions throughout the process. COVID was a main concern for our family and guests. The venue was so great at accommodating and made sure all the staff were vaccinated and wore masks for our wedding. They took all the pressure and burden off of us on our wedding day and made everything so easy. We felt so cared for by Margaret and the Barr Mansion staff. Highly recommend and wouldn't change our decision to go with them one bit!!

Incredible

If you are trying to decide a location for your wedding - BOOK BARR! Barr Mansion was the absolutely perfect place for our wedding. My husband and I got married at Barr Mansion at the end of August in 2021. We could not have asked for a better venue or a better team to work with. Molly Mulally was our day of coordinator and was a DREAM to work with. I did not have a wedding planner and decided to upgrade my package for Molly to be move involved for the day of. She knew all of the details, knew all the vendors, and really took all of the stress away from me and my family for the whole day. I really leaned on her for opinions and vendor recommendations which all worked out perfectly. I can’t say enough about the check-ins and how much she helped us think through things we didn’t even know to think about! Meanwhile, Barr Mansion was the perfect place for us. I loved that it had a built in rain plan option - just in case. Our guest couldn’t stop raving about the food and the late night pizza. Everyone commented on how absolutely unique and beautiful the venue was too. The pictures by Eryn Chandler are stunning/incredible/ phenomenal - check her out and book her too! I really can’t say enough, our wedding day was above and beyond our wildest expectations and we are so thankful for the Barr team!

An absolute dream!

There are no words to describe how amazing my experience was with Barr Mansion. The staff was so kind to all of my gusts and made the environment so welcoming. The food was delicious and got so many compliments. The bar tenders were so fun and made some killer drinks! Also, my gusts still talk about how beautiful the venue was.

By far the best part of planning my wedding with Barr Mansion was meeting their coordinator Molly Mulally. She was my rock throughout the whole process. She was so kind to me from the beginning and was so attentive without being overbearing.

I left it up to her to arrange all of my personal decorations I brought for my wedding. I was done making decisions and selfishly left it up to her. She had no problem with it and did a beautiful job! You can trust her with anything, and that is such a comforting feeling when planning your wedding.

She was so quick to respond to my emails and put up with all the constant changes and rearranging of my seating chart. You can tell that Molly loves her job.

No amount of words can describe how truly grateful I am for Molly and the Barr mansion staff. I will remember them forever!

What an incredible venue! We loved having our romantic style wedding here August 28th. We can’t thank Margaret enough for her incredible talent and attention to details. She made sure everything went perfectly and that we were not stressed through the entire year of wedding planning. The entire staff was professional and showed our guests a wonder and fun time. They work well with all of our outside vendors as well and the landscape of the property is stunning! 10/10 would recommend.

OMG!!!!!!!!!

Barr Mansion....the venue, the staff, the COORDINATOR were an absolute dream. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. It was such a seamless magical process due to the genuine care and expertise of everyone involved. Every single guest was taken aback by the beauty of the venue in itself and to top it off the work that Stems floral did brought it to the next level.
Molly, Molly, Molly....an angel sent from the heavens to be not only our wedding coordinator but the sweetest soul, the greatest support and the reason I didn't have a panic attack before walking down the aisle! Would absolutely recommend everything about this place to any future brides/grooms hands down!!

Perfect Wedding

This is a beautiful venue and Molly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. My daughters wedding was more than we could have ever imagined. She took so much care to make sure every detail was carefully thought out and handled the entire wedding with such calmness and professionalism. I can’t imagine not having her with us through this, she is the sweetest lady and she will always have a special place in our hearts. Also, thank you Verbena Floral Design for the beautiful flowers and Eryn Chandler Photography for capturing this day for us, the photos are just gorgeous.

We highly recommend Barr Mansion and the team!!

We had an evening ceremony under the big Pecan tree, cocktail hour in the farmstead, and the reception at the Ballroom. Every place is so unique, we loved that we had all in just one place and our guests loved it too. We took the small wedding package which was all-inclusive, and it was perfect for us since we planned the whole thing two months in advance! Molly Mulally and her team were amazing! Our experience from planning our wedding to the wedding day was great. Molly always replied to our questions and helped us during the whole process. Highly recommended!

Amazing experience at Barr Mansion

So happy with our decision to have our wedding celebration at Barr Mansion. We were originally scheduled to have it on 8/8/20 but decided to postpone to 7/24/21 due to Covid. I'm grateful Barr was able to postpone that date for us during such a crazy time in the wedding industry. Our celebration was everything I imagined it to be. A beautiful and serene setting for our guests, delicious and unique food choices, wonderful service and professionalism, and lots of fun. A big thank you to Molly our wedding coordinator, I cannot imagine working with anyone better! So organized, on top of things, easygoing, kind, and such a hard worker. Many people at our reception noticed how hard she was working to keep things running smoothly for our special day. Thank you again Barr and Molly, it was a day we'll never forget!

The Perfect Day!

Barr Mansion is THE place to get married in Austin! The venue is beyond beautiful, the food is amazing, and the staff is kind and helpful. All of our guests had a great time at the wedding and we cannot be more pleased with how everything turned out.

Our coordinator, Molly, was incredible! She helped me stay on track with planning, gave helpful suggestions, and was an open ear when wedding planning was getting a bit overwhelming. She is organized and knows what she is doing! Our rehearsal and wedding day were perfect because of Molly. She kept us on time, made sure everyone knew where they needed to be, and even packed up some late night pizza in the getaway car for my husband and me. I cannot say enough good things about Molly and Barr Mansion! I wish we could get married all over again!

WOW is all I can say

My fiancé and I got married about a week and a half ago. From the moment we saw the venue, we knew this was the place. Furthermore, we began working with the Barr Mansion Wedding Coordinator Molly Mulally who could not have been more helpful. I am not one to write reviews, but I can not say enough about Molly and the rest of the BM staff. We all know that the Covid environment has been harsh to the wedding business. However, Molly handled everything perfectly. She answered every question we had, initiated conversations and asked us questions about things we would have never thought of, and orchestrated the most special day in the middle of the June Texas heat. There was literally nothing she could have done to make things go more smooth - everything from planning the day to the day itself. I HIGHLY recommend booking Barr Mansion for a wedding/event of any size. I guarantee Molly will blow you away with your overall experience, even more than you will be blown away by seeing the venue itself. THE Best Place for A Wedding in Austin!

My husband and I literally chanced upon Barr Mansion when we were taking a drive to get out during Covid quarantine one day. We remarked at how beautiful it was. So, we looked into it online, took a tour on the grounds, and were even more amazed and just knew that's where we wanted our wedding!

Considering it was Spring of 2020 during the height of Covid when we set our date for April of 2021, we had a difficult time figuring out how large our party would be due to safety concerns and how we would manage the ceremony and reception. At first, we wanted to have two different sets of people attending each and although Barr Mansion hadn't done this before they were willing to work with us to make it happen. After time passed and Covid vaccinations started becoming more available, we decided to delay our wedding date a month out until May in hopes that we could just have everyone attend both the ceremony and reception. Molly and the team were again more than willing to work with us to change the scenario and the date for us.

I knew nothing about how to approach our wedding but Molly was always so reassuring and helpful in every step of the way. I tend to be very detail oriented and probably drove her crazy with my lengthy emails, but she never blinked an eye. In fact, her organization and response time was impeccable. She has the best attitude and was so accommodating to any need or request we had. Phone calls and meetings with her always helped relieve any anxiety I had going into this important day. When we got close to the date she wasn't pressing on the items she needed to ensure our day ran smoothly either. She is truly a rock star and made for her job!

The day before the wedding we had to choose a Plan B for rain. It wasn't my first choice as much as getting married under the large tree on the grounds, which is so beautiful. But, we went with it and it was seamless! It turned out to be just as beautiful and special even though we had to have it indoors. We had about 60 people attend and had the ceremony in the Farmstead and moved the reception to the Ballroom. We even got some beautiful couple and family photos under umbrellas in the rain and inside and on the porch of the mansion, which were stunning.

The staff at Barr Mansion were so helpful and professional and approachable. They were alway one step ahead and looking back on the day I didn't have to ask for anything. They already had it. A beer or drink would be handed to us. I told them in passing that I was going to taste my [newly-wed] husband's dish, so instead they surprised me with both options. They worked well with the vendors. Our flowers were exactly as planned as well as the musician and even the timing of the musician as I walked in during ceremony was perfect with the help of Molly. At the end of the night, all of our belongings were already packed up ready for us to move out, so it wasn't too much of a burden on our friends and family at the end of the night. All of our guests remarked at how nice and helpful the staff and Molly were, too. Everything was clean beautiful and memorable. I couldn't recommend Barr Mansion more! Ask for Molly if you can, too!

Incredible incredible venue! Barr Mansion is a dream

We recently got married at Barr Mansion and it was everything we could have dreamt of and more. All thanks to Molly Mulally, our wonderful, fabulous, amazing coordinator from Barr Mansion. Molly executed on everything we wanted and envisioned to a T. Our families are in the hospitality business and the service we received was impeccable. Dinner was served promptly, dishes were cleared quickly, and drinks were never empty. They floated through the reception without causing any distraction or disruption. We had to move to our rain plan and you never would have known it was plan B because of all of the stunning locations on the property to host a ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. It was the best night of our lives and our guests have not stopped talking about the venue, the food, the staff, and Molly. Booking Barr Mansion & Molly will be the best decision you make in your wedding planning journey.

Book Barr Mansion now!

Molly and the Barr Mansion team were so helpful in making our November 2020 wedding in the midst of COVID run smoothly. Molly didn't bat an eye when we approached her with our own social distancing/safety guidelines that we felt were necessary to pull off a wedding in a pandemic. She was quick at responding to our emails and helped us navigate all of the changes we had to make due to COVID without making us feel stressed. The staff the day of our wedding were so friendly and awesome. The venue is absolutely stunning (we did everything outside), our guests were raving about the food, and we're still dreaming about the cake. We'd highly recommend Barr Mansion as a wedding venue.

I HIGHLY recommend Barr Mansion, Molly our coordinator was amazing. She was by my side through all the ups and downs of COVID. She worked with us on changes and was always very responsive. The venue is beautiful and the staff is amazing. They tended to our every want and need. The chef did an great job on the food. The appetizers were delicious and the main course was even better. The beef tenderloin is to die for and don't forget the green chili mac n cheese. Our guest are still talking about how delicious everything was. Thank you for making our daughters wedding perfect.

The greatest wedding investment you’ll make

If I could leave a million stars, I would. Every single aspect of Barr Mansion is impeccable and made our wedding the most special day of our lives up to this point. Barr Mansion is timeless, romantic and whimsical. But more than the stunning venue, phenomenal food and gorgeous grounds you’ll find the greatest part, our coordinator Molly M. Her communication is timely, thorough and clear. She thought through every detail I would’ve forgotten and was an integral part of planning our day. She is kind, genuine and planning with her felt like I was planning with a friend. She has a very calming spirit and is truly the best person to be around in a high stress environment (cause planning and day of might bring a few frustrations). Molly makes you feel heard and is incredibly attentive. We were blessed and fortunate enough to not even feel like we were planning a wedding in the midst of Covid. Beautiful Venue

I am so grateful that I found Barr Mansion. I originally went to one of their picnics and was impressed by the food and beauty of the space. I knew that I wanted to serve my guests an elegant meal and Barr Mansion delivers that. The place is already so pretty that minimum decor is needed, and it's an easy canvas to work with for a lot of decor styles.

I am also grateful for their coordinator, Molly, who was super accommodating and prepared to handle all the last minute problems and surprises that popped up.

I had a lot of guests tell me that this had been the most beautiful wedding they had been to, and plenty of guests were really impressed with the food.

Beautiful, Magical, Enchanting, Absolutely Perfect!

THANK YOU SO MUCH to the staff at Barr Mansion for making our wedding day so much more dreamy and magical than we could’ve expected! From the moment we saw photos of Barr Mansion in a lookbook, to the moment Nick and I were departing the elegantly lit mansion and grounds in our getaway car under a starry night sky, the beauty and enchantment of Barr Mansion only continued to grow and surprise us both. The farm-to-table food was ABSOLUTELY delicious, and I’m sure this is one of the few venues where we can 100% say the food served during our wedding was exactly (if not, even more) as tasty as the food served during our pre-pandemic Spring Tasting. Also, we can’t give this review without mentioning that Barr Mansion was able to rebook our initial wedding day from April 19th to October 5th without any problems, charges, or re-negotiation. Big big big thanks to our Manager on Duty Margaret, Catering Manager Noah, and the bar and waiting staff for making us and our guests feel at home throughout the entire evening! Our night at Barr Mansion was so so dreamy and enchanting, and we ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND Barr Mansion to anyone and everyone!

Beautiful, unique, and absolutely perfect!

I could have never imagined a more perfect day than how my wedding turned out at Barr Mansion. I did the wedding planning myself, but utilized Barr Mansions’s day-of-coordinator, Becki Phelps, to execute the wedding day. I can’t thank Becki enough for all her patience with me leading up to the wedding day. She was patient and kind and was able to answer all of the detailed questions I had. Becki was absolutely amazing at taking the vision I had and turning it into a reality. I was nervous that since I had done the detailed wedding planning myself, that on the wedding day I would be bombarded with questions by different vendors, or would need to be involved in making sure everything went to plan. However, from the time I showed up at the venue until the time I left, Becki had everything absolutely under control. The entire day was seamless and I was able to fully focus on enjoying the day without having to worry about a single thing.

The food was phenomenal! We served our dinner family style and had beef tenderloin and white veggie lasagna as our entrees, with spiced carrots and roasted brassicas as our sides. The only thing I probably could have asked to be different on the wedding day was to have more food. When I went around to each of the tables to greet the guests, I noticed that all of the plates and serving dishes were completely licked clean. I suppose that speaks to how great the food was; I just hope my guests were able to get enough food to be full. Our desserts were also fantastic! We had an apple cake with dulce de leche frosting for the wedding cake and then pumpkin swiss rolls as our secondary dessert. I was so sure we would have way too much dessert and a ton of leftovers, but my guests completely wiped out all of the desserts too! Everyone was raving about the cake and especially the pumpkin rolls. I liked that all of our food, including the desserts, were unique and very well made.

The facilities and grounds were also wonderful. We were lucky to have 70 degree weather, so we had the doors to the farmstead open during our ceremony. It was absolutely breathtaking. The grounds outside were lush and green, even though it was February, and we had some beautiful photos taken all over the grounds. The bartenders did a phenomenal job as well. We had vodka soda and old fashioned cocktails as our signature drinks and everyone absolutely loved the old fashioned. So much so that we ran through all of our bourbon at cocktail hour and had to send someone out on a liquor run before dinner! We had our dinner and reception in the ballroom and the space was perfect for our approximately 150 guests. Everyone had enough room to be comfortable while still having plenty of space for the dance floor.

It was the most amazing day of my life and I am so happy that we chose Barr Mansion for our wedding. I would absolutely recommend Barr Mansion to anyone who is looking for a beautiful and unique space with excellent service and phenomenal food.

Our Austin wedding band LOVES Barr Mansion

What a venue! Our Austin wedding band, Uptown Drive loves every chance we get to play live music at this beautiful southern gem. It is the perfect setting for any wedding or special event with its outdoor space & greenery. We love Barr Mansions rich history and the stunning ballroom that is perfect for event entertainment. The ballroom has a large event space for a dance floor, which was packed all night long. We can't wait to play here again!

Could NOT have asked for a better experience!!

The Barr Mansion and their staff were incredible. I found this venue about 4 years ago, got engaged in August of 2017, and fell in love all over again with the Barr Mansion in January 2018. Our day-of coordinator, Cori, was nothing but helpful, punctual, and responsive - a true professional! She kept my dreams and vision in mind throughout the process and made sure that what I wanted was the focus. On the day of our wedding, there was no place else I would have wanted to get married and commit my life to the man I love. It was the PERFECT day and a lot of that is credited to the Barr Mansion and the staff. I heard from family and friends that the food was delicious, the staff was kind, the bar service was fast, and I considered it a good thing that I only saw Cori a few times throughout the day. If I had seen more of her, it would have meant that things had gone wrong, but of course, Cori handled the flexible schedule of the day and evening, she made sure we all had enough time for each part of the night (dinner, dancing, eating dessert, etc.). She was amazing, the staff was amazing, and the service was truly unmatched.

Best venue we could have ever asked for!

Working with Barr Mansion is working with the dream team. Their whole staff is impeccable, from when you first show up for an open house to when you leave for your sparkler exit. Barr Mansion provided us with the perfect wedding. The grounds are stunning, the food and the desserts (including your cake) are phenomenal, and the day-of-coordination is top-notch. We requested things above what Barr Mansion was required to provide and they met every need with a smile. We worked with Mia as our coordinator and she is just the sweetest and most professional person. She handled everything with poise and promptness and made our wedding go off without a hitch. She even helped set up all of the extra decor that I personally made (including furniture such as a beautiful vintage desk that I own!). If you are considering hiring Barr Mansion for your wedding - go for it! It will be the best experience you will ever have.

Best wedding venue in Austin!

We looked at several other venues in both Austin and Dripping Springs for our daughter’s wedding. But from the moment our daughter and her then fiancé saw Barr Mansion, I don’t think they seriously considered anywhere else. Barr Mansion had the Austin “vibe” that they were looking for and the grounds were unbelievably beautiful!
Cori was our coordinator and she was WONDERFUL! A calming presence for this first time MOB! All of her recommendations pre-wedding were spot on and she was so helpful in answering all of our emails in a timely manner. The day of the wedding she helped everything to run so smoothly and helped solve any minor hiccup so quickly and professionally that we all could just enjoy the day.
We were lucky with the weather, and the ceremony under the big tree was even more beautiful than I had imagined. But Barr Mansion also has plenty of room indoors for both the ceremony and the reception, which was very important to me. The most important day of our lives was made infinitely better by the awesome staff of Barr Mansion. Cori was a rockstar, and made sure that the timeline we had agreed to beforehand was followed precisely. The venue is maintained beautifully, and the food was beyond our wildest expectations. There is absolutely no doubt that Barr Mansion was worth every penny spent.
Make sure that you attend their Open House events where you are introduced to some of their preferred vendors! Barr Mansion is the best, and they work with extremely talented individuals who make your big day the best it can be. Nothing but rave reviews for Cori and the rest of the team from my beautiful wife and I!

Barr Mansion was absolutely perfect! We picked out the venue when we were working out of state so we booked without visiting it. When we visited it for the first time we were so happy with our choice. The planning process was so easy and stress-free due to them providing the catering and furniture. We also felt at ease knowing that they do weddings all the time. They are truly wedding experts! The actual wedding day completely surpassed our expectations. It was more beautiful than we could have imagined! The staff was so friendly and treated my husband and I with so much attention and care making sure that we always had a drink in our hand, food if needed, and were comfortable. All of our guests complimented us on how amazing the wedding and venue were.

My wife and I were married at Barr Mansion in October of 2017 and I simply cannot imagine a better venue for the most important day of our lives. If the quality of service were not exceptional (which it is), the beauty of Barr Mansion itself warrants a 5-star review. We cannot thank Aislinn and the entire BM staff enough for all of their help. They were prompt to answer any questions via phone or email and even encouraged us to stop by the venue whenever we wanted. We enjoyed tasting the food menu with other couples a few weeks ahead of our big day and were supremely confident that all would run smoothly the day of. Thanks to Aislinn (and other BM staff), that was exactly the case. Thank you again!!

Barr Mansion is a breathtakingly beautiful space. I fell in love from photos online and when I pulled up to tour for the first time I almost cried pulling in the parking lot! I knew it was the place. Our sales contact Caroline was a dream to work with throughout the entire process, and happily answered any random questions we had. Our coordinator Aislinn was the absolute best and we couldn't have pulled it off without her! She was very attentive and really made sure our ceremony felt like "ours" and didn't bat an eye at any of our non-traditional ideas. I truly cherished having her help us pull it off seamlessly. The head chef was super accommodating, creating an absolutely decadent vegetarian menu. I had multiple come up to me that night (and even more since!) to tell me how incredible the food was.

The fact that Barr provides all tables, chairs, dinnerware, linens, staff, and more was a HUGE weight off my shoulders and about 10 less things I had to coordinate. Beyond the beauty of the place, a major selling point for me was the fact that my wedding party wouldn't be responsible for folding up tables at the end of the night! We had a perfect perfect day and I can't imagine us having spent it anywhere else.

My husband and I got married at Barr Mansion Friday, May 26th. We had the BEST experience with all of the Barr employees, to name a few - Jessica, Caroline, Aislinn and Heather provided fabulous service throughout the entire 10 month planning process. Our favorite things about Barr - the property is GORGEOUS (so many picturesque areas), the food is amazing (you get to go to an awesome event with all the other couples getting married in your time frame and try the yummy food to set your menu), Barr has an in house coordinator (Heather aka Wonder-woman) who makes sure your wedding is seamless (she thinks of everything and is phenomenal at her job), they allow animals on property (our golden retriever was in our ceremony and was allowed at the reception!!), and last but not least was our guests' experience - we got told over and over how much fun our wedding was and I am positive it is because of Barr Mansion. Thanks for hosting the best day of our lives!

Barr Mansion was amazing! Our guests couldn't stop commenting on how delicious the food was (many said it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding). They accommodated my various food allergies and had additional options for some of our younger guests who were picky eaters (I hadn't even thought about kids being picky!). We used Barr Mansion for both our ceremony and reception and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. As a same-sex couple, feeling comfortable with who we were working with was very important to us and Caroline and Krystal made us feel at ease from the day we met them both. Caroline was so helpful in the early stages of planning and responded to our millions of emails so quickly! Krystal was our day of coordinator and thought of everything; there wasn't a thing she missed that we were aware of! Her creativity, thoughtfulness and excitement truly made you feel like the most special couple to pass through Barr Mansion's doors. All of our guests raved about the food and you really can't go wrong with any of their food options, it's really that good! The mansion's property speaks for itself, the food is incredible and Caroline and Krystal really push the experience over the top! We couldn't recommend it more!

Barr Mansion was such a wonderful venue to work with. My husband and I only looked at 3 venues total and I knew instantly that Barr Mansion was going to be my choice. It had everything I was looking for. I knew as soon as I saw the historic house and beautiful grounds, that it fit my vintage style perfectly. They also have a new ballroom, which is just as beautiful, and they designed it perfectly for weddings. I could not be more happy with my choice. I love that they are a package deal. You get the ceremony site, the reception site and a full menu to choose from! The food was amazing. We got SO many compliments from our guests at just how amazing the food was. We also got numerous compliments at how beautiful the venue was, how friendly and helpful the staff was, and how smoothly the entire even went off without a hitch. Everyone was truly satisfied. The staff was very responsive to my phone calls and emails leading up to the big day. They are very experienced and will take care of everything for you. They also have a long list of suggested vendors that they usually work with, which can be very helpful. They are well organized, prepared and professional. Just a side note, you can not beat Barr Mansion in the Spring time, it is truly beautiful. Also, they are a pet friendly venue, which is very popular these days. I wish I could do it all over again! There is no stress when you book this venue. They walk you through it every step of the way and will take care of everything. We could not have picked a more wonderful venue for our wedding! I had Barr on my radar for several years after a friend got married there. It does not disappoint. Everyone was fantastic from steps A to Z. They worked with us in regard to the menu, our schedule, and any other requests that we had. We heard nothing but rave reviews from our guests about the atmosphere, the food (especially!), the service, all of it! They were especially kind about making sure that my family members with celiac disease were not exposed to gluten. Our coordinator, Krystal, was amazing and made us feel comfortable and important all along the way. You may have come across a couple of reviews about the security of the property. Let me tell you that they took that feedback and responded accordingly. During our wedding, they had a security guard on patrol, they had the house locked up, and they had anything that we deemed valuable locked in a separate storage as well. Another aspect that was very nice was encountering vendors who, upon hearing that we were having our wedding there, would exclaim "Oh! I love Barr. We love working with them!" It was such a reassurance to know that our vendors had experience at Barr and enjoyed their experiences. I have zero complaints. It was the wedding of our dreams.

Absolutely perfect! The venue is absolutely stunning as backdrop. There are tons of options for setup and the staff is open to creative, new ways of working. The food was delicious and commented on by the guests. I particularly loved the cake, the chocolate one with caramel drip. We also loved the group tasting they had. It was a perfect opportunity to taste the options and also speak to other couples getting married around the same time. Although I loved how the day turned out and I wouldn't change it for me, what I learned from those conversations is you really can do most of what you need to do within the offerings from Barr, without bringing in outside vendors. So if you're on a budget, definitely consider that. Now I have to talk about Krystal, our coordinator. She was absolutely amazing!! Planning the wedding from across the country was challenging but I had so much confidence in her that I knew the day would be flawless, and it was. She was super organized and provided helpful suggestions. She was great with follow-up. I really trusted her. Actually, it felt like planning a wedding with a friend. I chose to have a planner in addition to Krystal to help with contracts and day of, mainly because I was planning from afar. If you can handle your own contracts, Krystal is more than competent to handle your day of. You don't need anyone else. The staff and service was also great. I had no interaction with them which means that Krystal managed the team well. I do have to mention one incident, because I would want to know as a bride. We did have a wallet stolen out of the mansion. They provided a security guard but it still happened. My guess is that it's hard for the guard to know who to let in and who not. If you're going with Barr, maybe try to work out some sort of entry list for the guard or something. Barr was helpful in resolving the issue. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose Barr over and over. Thank you to all the Barr staff and Krystal!

We got married in August and had last minute rain, but Barr Mansion has a beautiful Plan B (the ballroom) and everything turned out great! Shanna and her team were outstanding. Pristine lush grounds, an immaculate historical mansion, and a jaw-dropping glass-fronted ballroom, and we haven't even gotten to the phenomenal chef that uses all organic ingredients. Our slow cooked beef ribs were the talk of the reception. Shanna was so cool, calm and collected. She was so attentive to me and my bridal party the entire day. I couldn't have chosen a better place to marry my best friend!

I cannot say enough good things about Shanna and the rest of the staff at The Barr Mansion! They truly try to make your wedding planning experience as easy as possible. Our wedding was everything we could have hoped for and more because of the people at The Barr Mansion!

No matter where you decide to have your ceremony on site, every single inch of this place is stunning! We initially wanted to have our ceremony outside by the tree, but the weather decided otherwise. Our plan B in the farmstead was still as beautiful as the tree would have been. Shanna and the team were so quick to help rearrange things and make the area look exactly how we wanted.

Everyone that has commented to us about our wedding, the common thing that everyone had to say was how amazing the food was. They could not stop raving about it and saying that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding!

We would recommend The Barr Mansion to anyone ten times over!!

We had our reception at Barr Mansion and absolutely loved it! From the decor to the food to the professional and courteous staff, it made our wedding day so much smoother to have most everything covered by one place.

Tucked away in Northeast Austin is a gem of a venue, Barr Mansion. The location was perfect for our wedding, as it gave it an intimate, romantic Austin-like feel. We booked Barr Mansion for our wedding site and reception for our October 2015 nuptials because it was a one stop shop for ceremony, reception, catering and cake! It is such an earthy, natural and just plain beautiful location that doesn't need much decor. They definitely keep up with their property! Our wedding took place under the tree around 5pm, which gave us amazing photos due to the sunset behind us. It was a location where we didn't lose the feel of the wedding after the ceremony. Our coordinator arranged it where the guests were greeted with some drinks and appetizers while we broke away and had 5 minutes as husband and wife. The Artisan Ballroom had ivy growing around the windows and it gave our reception a very intimate home-like setting. It was able to fit our 160 guests comfortably and the food was all amazing! The one person that made our day run smoothly was our expert Wedding Coordinator (Shanna). Most of my wedding items (not flowers) were all purchased or DIY by me, but it was Shanna who took what I envisioned and made it come to life! She was so creative and easy to work with, and took care of everything the day of the wedding. I'm so forever grateful for her professionalism and expertise! Thank you Shanna and the Barr Mansion team!

We got married at Barr Mansion in May 2015 and everything about this venue was perfect! The grounds are gorgeous, and you have full access to the main Victorian-style house, the glass-façade Ballroom, and the outdoor covered Farmstead. The grounds also include a rose garden, a big beautiful pecan tree, and gardens where they grow their own food. Guests ranted and raved about how spectacular the venue was and how they had never seen anything like it before!

Upon signing our contract with Barr Mansion, we were invited to monthly cocktail events where we got to sample appetizers and drinks, view decorations from different vendors, listen to DJs and string groups perform, and ask questions of the coordinators and staff on site. Also included is a harvest tasting, where you get to sample all the food that will be available to choose from on your wedding day. The venue prepares all their food on-site and offers selections based on which season your wedding is in and which foods are in harvest at that time. The food was absolutely amazing and everyone loved what we picked out!

The awesome thing about Barr Mansion is how much they do for you. All set-up and take-down is done by their staff, and they provide a full set of staff for the day of. They also provide a day-of coordinator, which was a huge selling point for us. Shanna was our coordinator and she was amazing! She knew exactly what to do and kept the ball rolling all day/night. She was very knowledgeable, personable, and easy to work with. She made the day-of seem like a breeze and we did not have to worry about anything!

This place in UNBELIEVABLE and I would HIGHLY recommend it!

When I first got engaged I knew I had to go and see Barr Mansion. I had always heard how beautiful it was, and pictures do not do it justice, gorgeous! When I first contacted Barr Mansion for a showing, they were very responsive and helpful! After we decided to have the wedding brunch reception at Barr Mansion I was paired with Elyse Shumsky-Alcorn as our event coordinator. I was so lucky to have been introduced to Elyse and to have her at my side as our coordinator! She not only represents Barr Mansion with grace and class, but she also helped me tremendously with the stress and responsibilities that come with planning a wedding! She answered all emails promptly and professionally. She helps with all the tiny details that need to be taken care of. The actual wedding day: once we arrived at Barr Mansion the staff immediately greeted me, and I knew that the rest of the day would be smooth. Elyse was there right way with a water, and to offer me a glass of champagne - She then directed me to where I needed to be, in fact, she kept me on track throughout the wedding in a very discreet manner, so as not to interrupt a guest - I loved that about her, very thoughtful! She is really a terrific coordinator - she is organized, and a great communicator. The food was absolutely delicious, and I still have guests commenting about how good the food was, and how beautiful the venue was. The cakes were gorgeous, and tasted wonderful! Their efficiency in getting everything taken down was also very good, and fast! I would highly recommend working with Elyse at Barr Mansion, I had no stress, but pure Joy the whole day. Thank you Elyse and Barr Mansion for a wonderful experience.

We got married the first weekend in February, and everything turned out perfectly! The staff at Barr Mansion are incredible! The weather the day of the wedding was crazy, and the plans had to be changed the week of the wedding. I was nervous how it would all turn out since I really wanted the ceremony outside, but everything looked so great!
Elyse Shumsky is the best! She was our day of wedding coordinator and contact during all of the planning stages! She answered all of my questions, and even offered suggestions of who to use for makeup, tent rental, etc. SHE IS AWESOME! I would have been so stressed the day of the wedding if she would not have been there!
Elyse and Andy are seriously the best! They handled any problems that came up the day of the wedding, and made sure everything started on time!
And the venue is awesome- everyone is still talking about how pretty everything was and how good the food tasted!

Elyse Shumsky-Alcorn (our day-of wedding coordinator and point-of-contact up to the wedding day itself) was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. She went above and beyond our expectations, and represented Barr Mansion incredibly well. She answered all of my emails promptly, I didn't have to worry one bit about coordination/flow issues on the day of, I was allowed to bring my photographer/parents/future in-laws on the site to show it off (just give them a heads up). Most of all, she catered to us personally (offered to grab us food and drink during the wedding reception). She gave us wonderful tips for our wedding, highlighting details my fiance and I had not even thought of. The highlight of my night was when she rescued our exit from the reception. We forgot to order sparklers, and some happened to be stored away (from previous weddings). Instead of just letting that go, she said we could use the spare ones. She revved up the crowd, and sent us on our way!!! Could NOT have asked for a better wedding coordinator...if the reception grounds and services offered alone do not convince you, Elyse is the BEST coordinator in Austin, Texas, and you'll definitely want her to help you plan your wedding.

Barr Mansion itself is beautiful!!!! Even at night, even if it was blizzarding or snowing or sleeting in Austin (threat of sleet is moderately high in Feb in Austin), the grounds are still so gorgeous. We were looking for a non-country but sweet place mixed with industrial or modern touches, and this was the place. The glass wall itself makes for an incredible backdrop in pictures (especially with the walkway lights glowing in the background at night). My friends and family kept on saying (with non-feigned enthusiasm), that the place was so elegant but not stuffy. Food was incredible! Cake and pie were incredible! Projects are in the works, I hope to see pics of it online when their additions are completed (more outside patio stuff I think). Get married/have your reception HERE!

We got married at Barr Mansion in early October 2013 and it was a fantastic experience. Barr provided us with everything we wanted in a venue: gorgeous grounds, a unique ballroom, delicious food, and an amazing coordinator.

The old Victorian house has such photogenic interiors and exteriors, which really gave the photographs an antique charm. When people see our photos, they always ask us where we got married because of how unique the spaces are especially for Texas. Guests also raved to me about the food, especially the beef tenderloin so I highly recommend having that on the menu. You can't go wrong with the food at Barr-- that part is taken care of if you book there.

One of the biggest perks of this place is that it comes with a coordinator, which in retrospect, I couldn't imagine the day without. Elyse, our coordinator, was the absolute best-- she's so organized yet low-key and efficient; plus, she's such a great person to be around and it made the wedding day all that more smooth. I miss working with her already.

Overall, Barr Mansion is a great place to get married in Austin if you're looking for something less conventional than a hotel reception and more elegant than a ranch. Plus, your photographers will thank you!

We LOVED our wedding at Barr Mansion! The facility is beautiful and provided the perfect setting for our romantic and fun wedding! We planned on getting married under the tree but due to the rain the day before we moved the ceremony inside. The windows in the ballroom gave us the feel of outside without the humidity :) it was beautiful! We worked with Elyse through our wedding process and she was great! She made sure everything was taken care of the day of the wedding so that my parents and family could enjoy the day! The guests raved about the food and how beautiful it all was!

My daughter just got married at Barr Mansion! It is a beautiful venue! The historic mansion was perfect for the wedding party to dress, for "First look" photos, for people to gather, etc. The grounds are beautiful. Several ceremony sites are available on the property. Beautiful gardens, beautiful old pecan tree.....and the Artisan Ballroom is a GREAT party room. It's perfect for dinner and dancing and could also be an alternate wedding site. Our wedding coordinator was Elyse Shumsky! She was an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT to work with.....very informative, great suggestions, attentive, detail oriented....definitely "on the ball". She is a new friend and tops on my list! It was a magical evening!

Our experience at the Barr Mansion was amazing.

Our wedding coordinator was Nicole, and I cannot say enough good things about her. She was very responsive to our emails and made us feel at ease throughout the process. Her work as coordinator was SO VALUABLE the day before and day of. She kept things running really smoothly and did all the behind the scenes work for us. Our officiant went overtime, but she managed to get our wedding back on track, figuring out any changes that needed to be made for the day to run smoothly. She is a very calming presence.

The rest of the team at Barr Mansion is wonderful as well. My Dad remarked that the bartenders and staff were very pleasant and friendly. Being able to provide our own alcohol was a huge plus for us.

The food...I can't rave about it enough. We did a buffet for 175 people and Nicole made sure that process went smoothly so there was never a long line. The food we choose was delicious day of...SO MUCH BETTER than your average wedding food. The pizza was exceptional. Some people told my Dad the wedding cake was the best wedding cake they had ever tasted. Not only that, but the cake designer worked with my florist and did a stunning job with our cake. It was literally the most beautiful wedding cake I had ever seen---exactly what I had in mind.

The grounds of Barr Mansion were beautiful for our outdoor ceremony. The ballroom was nice and cool in July and easily had space for our 175 guests (setting up additional outside bar worked well as well--there was never a long line at the bar).

In terms of value, we picked a Friday, which gave us a discount. When you calculate all that Barr Mansion includes, I really do feel that it is a value in the Austin wedding market. If we had to deal with hiring a separate caterer, linen provider, wedding coordinator, cake baker, clean up crew, bartenders, etc, etc, our wedding would have been more expensive.

Our day really was perfect.

Our wedding day was absolutely perfect thanks to Barr Mansion.

The thing that drew us to Barr Mansion (other than the stunning venue) was that Rick and Elyse would be there throughout the planning process and would take care of us on the day of the wedding. Both Elyse and Rick were very quick to respond and always patient in answering any questions we had during the planning process. It was definitely a great feeling showing up on our wedding day knowing that our day would be in good hands.

We were married under the pecan tree in late April and the grounds were STUNNING. If you can snag a date in late April/early May DO IT! The weather was comfortable, the tree had leafed out, the grass was bright green and all the spring flowers were in bloom. The appetizers, dinner and wedding cake were all delicious and we even took advantage of the brick oven to have a late night pizza snack for all our guests. One thing we really liked about Barr Mansion was that we were able to provide the alcohol, which really made a difference in our alcohol budget compared to the pricey "alcohol packages" offered by most wedding venues.

Everyone kept telling me that "something always goes wrong on your wedding day" but that couldn't have been further from the truth when it came to our wedding. Elyse ran everything so smoothly that we never had to worry about a single thing. She kept us on schedule but was never pushy and worked with our DJ to make sure everyone knew what was happening. The evening went by so quickly, but we were both able to relax and enjoy the moment with our friends and family which, in the end, is exactly what everyone wants for their wedding.

I couldn't recommend Barr Mansion and their incredible staff more. They truly made our wedding perfect. Thank you, Elyse, Rick and Barr Mansion!

I think it's every little girl's dream to feel like a princess on her wedding day... and I felt just that! Barr Mansion's staff, grounds, food, ambiance etc etc etc contributed to the best day of my life to date. Elyse Shumsky was my coordinator for the months before the wedding and the day-of the wedding, and I doubt, no, I KNOW the day could not have gone as smoothly without her direction. For the months prior Elyse was responsive to all of my 349857305 questions and she truly made the planning process as much of a breeze as I could have asked for. On the day of the wedding I received compliments from the wedding party and my family about how on-the-ball she was, which put my mind at ease. THANK YOU BARR MANSION AND THANK YOU ELYSE!! :))

We were so lucky to have Elyse Shumsky as the coordinator for my daughter’s wedding at Barr Mansion. The entire event was perfectly planned and flawlessly executed. The ceremony and reception ran smoothly and right on schedule allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment. She was always available without being intrusive. Elyse is extremely professional, incredibly well-organized, very attentive to detail, highly creative, and a pleasure to work with. I can’t imagine how we would have managed without her.

The Barr Mansion really doesn't need much of a review, because if you look at the pictures, you can see how stunningly beautiful it is. The people who work there are just as great, and honestly, I think you get a lot of value for your money. SO much is included in their package and that makes everything else so much easier, limiting the vendors you have to research.

Rick was great and easy to work with. It was wonderful having a day-of coordinator that really knew the venue and all of the other vendors. Obviously, the house and reception hall were beautiful, and the pictures will be great no matter where you are on the property. We got many compliments on how great the food was (organic!) and how beautiful the venue was. The Barr Mansion was really an easy choice to make.

Barr Mansion is a beautiful venue. They do all the catering and the cakes and they use organic and local ingredients. The staff is very nice and they were quick to respond to any of my questions or concerns.

Where do I even begin? I LOVED my wedding at Barr Mansion!! All of my guests were from out of town and they were all blown away by the venue! It is unique, elegant, rustic, PERFECT. Everything was amazing, including Hannah and Rick who helped in the planning process.

First, the planning process was sooo easy. Barr has catering (which is all organic -- the only USDA certified organic venue -- very Austin!) so I didn't have to worry about finding that, they handle the cakes, staff, set-up, break-down, day of coordination, etc. Seriously, it was so easy. We worked with Hannah mainly and she is AWESOME! So sweet, kind, and organized. I really didn't worry about ANYTHING -- and trust me, I am a worrier. Hannah made sure my day turned out exactly as I had envisioned it. She kept reassuring me -- "It's your wedding, you can have it however you want." Even guests at the wedding came up to me to tell me how amazing she was.

Another perk -- you can provide your own alcohol. We bought TONS and you are able to return extra unopened alcohol to most places (Specs, Costco -- FYI - Costco is the cheapest AND you don't have to have a membership for the spirits section because it is actually separate from the store).

The food turned out delicious (we had apple cider brined chicken breasts and beef tenderloin with bacon herb butter)! We even had a little surprise for the guests at the end of the night - Barr has a stone pizza oven so we had organic pizzas for a late night snack. The guests loved it! The cakes were also really good. Our brides cake was a traditional white with raspberry filling. Our cakes were also very pretty and well decorated. They ask you to provide a picture of what you would like them to look like -- I cheated and just picked one that I liked that was done previously at another wedding at Barr.

We got married under the old pecan tree at sunset. It felt beautiful. We worked with Stems (Barr's resident florist that you do NOT have to use -- BUT SHE IS GOOD!) and we put chandeliers in the tree. Loved it.

Next – the Artesian Ballroom. Really amazingly beautiful. It is really a great space. We ended up getting lighting from ILD because I really wanted an amber glow – almost like candle light. It was relatively inexpensive (in relation to the entire cost of a wedding!).

If you can’t tell yet, I really loved my wedding. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Barr Mansion. Another bonus is that it is out in the middle of what feels like nowhere but it is still about 10-15 min from downtown. Very secluded and private. My biggest worry was that I did all this work and had this vision and I was going to be disappointed in the end --- totally NOT the case!!! Brides – you will not regret picking this venue for your most special day!

My husband and I booked Barr Mansions for our November 11, 2010 wedding. When the fire happened I was a little nervous about the back-up plan, but once I went to the food and cake tasting I saw how amazingly beautiful it was I knew that it was still going to be the wedding of my dreams. I was blown away at how well Barr Mansion handled the whole thing. They were absolutely wonderful in every aspect. Everyone and everything at Barr Mansion was fabulous and exceeded my expectations. Everyone was very friendly and more than willing to help out in any way they could. As a bride planning a Texas wedding from Florida it was nice to know that I could rely on anyone there the ease my stress.

Rick was fantastic. He was easy to get a hold of, and if I had any questions or concerns he was right there ready with answers. On the day of the wedding he was very attentive and on schedule. He knew exactly what I wanted for my wedding and executed it perfectly. Nothing went wrong the day of and it was everything I had dreamed of.

Working with Abby at STEMS was so pleasant! She knew exactly what I was looking for and with my lack of knowledge for floral created the most beautiful display of flowers. My bouquet was so gorgeous I wanted to keep it forever, and the girls bouquets were the perfect simple touch. As for the guys boutonnieres they were simple and elegant with the most beautiful flower. The centerpieces were better than I could have imagined, and all the extra touches of floral really made my wedding into everything I had dreamed of.

I have gotten so many complements from our guests and I can't thank Barr Mansion enough! I would recommend Barr Mansion to any bride, my experience was just fantastic!

I highly recommend Barr Mansion. When I signed up to get married there, it just felt right. I had looked at a bunch of other places that were nice, but Barr Mansion had it all. We had a small wedding, but it still took a lot of work--thankfully, everyone at Barr Mansion took control and made it easy. I worked with Abby (now of STEMS floral) and Keegan, who were both awesome. They were very flexible and responsive, they worked within my budget, and they had a ton of great ideas. (And the food and the cake were great!)

We booked Barr Mansion before the fire (and then got married in October). I was incredibly impressed with how they handled a very difficult situation. They were very forthcoming and honest about what to expect. I never had any doubts that they would make my wedding beautiful and amazing--no matter what. And they did, always with a smile. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous, and I wouldn't have changed a thing. When they finish building the new reception area, I'm sure it will be even better than before.

My husband and I were one of the "unlucky" couples to have the pavilion, but it was still our dream wedding. From the moment we found out about the ballroom burning down, to the moment we left in our limo at the end of our wedding night, the Barr Mansion staff was nothing but accommodating, professional, and just all around why any bride could ever want from a wedding venue. The food was great, the dessert were to die for, and the pavilion was decorated so well that our guests didn't even know that it was our "back-up" plan. And we did not spend nearly as much as most on our decor. I have to say, that it turned out even better than I could've imagined even from before the ballroom burned down. Our wedding coordinator was Keegan and she was awesome. She listened to what we wanted, gave us lots of great suggestions (we were sort of clueless), and there wasn't a request that she couldn't accommodate. I highly recommend the Barr Mansion, with or without the ballroom.

Amazing - everyone at the wedding was pleased with the attentiveness of the staff, the timeliness of drinks and food, and the air of fun professionalism. A+.

I read this morning that there's been a fire on the property, so I wanted to emphasize the great staff, and the beautiful tent they set up for us. Brides planning on getting married at Barr Mansion this summer: never fear. Barr staff will make the event gorgeous with or without the original building set-up you imagined.

My mother and I had a great experience before the wedding with preparation. I can't remember a time an email wasn't answered in 24 hours or a phone call wasn't returned. Everyone was very accessible and accommodating. And when we were on site to make decisions, we never felt rushed.

Rick was fantastic. Particularly memorable to me was his cheerful attitude, especially in the face of a hand injury he received a couple of weeks before our wedding. He helped me (and my charming, yet full-o-questions mother) with paring down all the questions to the few real decisions we had to make. He made it all easy.

The cakes were beautiful. So gorgeously decorated - both - and tasty! I can't wait for our first anniversary to have a taste again. The Lemon wedding cake with citrus icing was a dream. Going "organic" does not sacrifice any flavor, presentation, or fun. "Great work" to the chefs. We are generally impressed by everything that comes out of Barr's chapel-kitchen.

I cannot recommend Barr Mansion enough. Abby and the rest of the Barr Mansion staff were amazing through the entire process! Barr Mansion provided all of our floral, in addition to the venue, catering and cakes. Everything was perfect and just how I imagined. The venue is truly a gem and beautiful. The food was delicious! And I can't wait to eat the rest of our cake (in the freezer for the 1 year). Abby and the staff were very thoughtful and well organized. (They are true pro's in the wedding business.) Before the wedding, everyone tells you that things will go wrong and not to expect perfection. But looking back at the wedding day, I can't remember anything going wrong. It was perfect and just how we imagined and planned. Thanks so much Abby!!

I love Barr Mansion!! My husband and I were married on the grounds in July 2009 and could not be happier with the entire event, from the first moment we called to inquire about the location to the moment we ran to our car as newlyweds. Barr Mansion has a staff that seems like a truly family and they know everything you need to know. We used their floral services as well and I didn't worry about a thing. The food is absolutely unbelievable - our guests continue to complement the chefs! The value is outstanding - Barr Mansion is essentially an organic one-stop-shop for your ceremony and they are always available to answer any question (of which I had many!) Barr Mansion and Artisan Ballroom is outstanding - unbelievable grounds, awesome staff, and a night you'll never forget!

Abby and her staff were fantastic! The venue is breath taking and we really appreciated the organic aspect. They were very friendly and were there to accept every call, answer every question and calm every last minute panic. It was so easy to share my vision of my day with Abby and watch it come to life! She designed the center pieces and other aspects of the floral arrangements. My bouquets were stunning and the landscaping was beautiful. I can't say enough how perfect my day was due largely in part to Abby and Barr Mansion. I would recommend Barr Mansion to anyone who would ask. You will get treated with respect and you can watch your visions unfold into physical perfection!

Lovely, Timeless & Green. The Barr Mansion prides itself on being the only USDA certified organic wedding venue in Texas. It was so important to us that we were able to have such an elegant affair while remaining "green". From the hor'dourves to the sit down dinner, even the flowers were locally grown and organic. We received so many compliments on how fresh everything tasted, and we knew we had picked the perfect venue. Thank you so much Barr Mansion!! Our wedding was incredibly romantic and beautiful, everything we dreamed about and then some!!

I got married at the Barr Mansion on May 16, 2008, and I could not have had a more perfect wedding. The staff was wonderful: they were always quick to respond to my questions, not pushy for me to use any of their ancillary services and instead provided plenty of information on photographers, musicians, etc at all price ranges, and my wedding coordinator, Rick, was perfect (who is included as part of the deal at no extra cost at the Barr Mansion, as are the cakes and table settings). I never knew where he was or what he was doing, but everything proceeded perfectly, and he was never pushy or intrusive. At the end of the night when everyone was having a blast dancing, he let us stay a little late because the food had come out a little bit late (although no one noticed this). The food was excellent and unique; it is all organic, and It is nice that they do the food there, as it is one less vendor you have to find on your own. The cakes are included and they did a yummy chocolate layered cake covered in chocolate shards. As for a beautiful place to get married, you cant beat this. The grounds are green as can be and the flowers were all in bloom in May. Because of the beautiful scenery, our pictures turned out great. The barn is beautiful with all the lights. They have a back-up indoor site to get married in case it is raining on your day. The best way I can describe the feel of the decor is natural, eclectic, and rustic with a touch of an eastern feel. So many people were asking "Wow! how did you find this place?" We had sparklers for when we left the wedding, and the staff handled setting it all up. And, as per our request the car we left in had boxes filled with food, cake and leftover wine for us to take to the hotel. To sum it up: great people, great food, gorgeous and unique location.

My husband and I can't say enough positive things about Barr Mansion. We would not change one thing about our November 2008 wedding in large part due to the hard work and dedication of the Barr Mansion staff. Their professionalism, attention to detail and clear mission to serve their client, in this case an out-of-town bride and groom, was absolutely flawless. These folks went through every single wedding related detail with us remotely, graciously tackling several iterations of cakes, bouquet/floral arrangement ideas and even a last minute change in ceremony details through email no less. Barr staff understood that we couldn't make the trip to Austin to discuss these critical details and took it upon themselves to make this work for us rather than making us work for them. The venue is dreamy; it's the perfect place for an elegant but unpretentious and intimate wedding. Our guests raved about our food, cakes and floral arrangements and were so thankful that Barr staff went out of their way to accommodate all of us. Countless wedding guests commented that our wedding was the most beautiful theyd ever been to. We couldnt have done this on our ownit was made possible by Barr Mansion. We toured numerous Austin wedding venues and none captured the essence of Austin, its kind and laid back people and natural beauty the way Barr Mansion does. We give them infinite stars.

What an UNBELIEVABLY EASY and NO STRESS wedding we had. The Barr Staff, Food and Grounds were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Everything was perfect and all guests had a FANTASTIC time. I would recommend over and over again.
