Portico - Awbury Arboretum

Portico is a storybook wedding venue located in a 55 acre arboretum in the historic Germantown neighborhood of Northwest Philadelphia. The Arboretum is a green oasis in a densely-populated urban environment with the Francis Cope House as its centerpiece. The stone mansion has floor-to-ceiling windows and a magnificent wrap-around porch from which guests can survey the picturesque English landscape of specimen trees, woods and meadows. The property is part of a Quaker community imbued with the ideals of simplicity and integrity. Portico has an elevated, at-home wedding feel while still offering the space, service and support of a full-service venue.

The venue's capacity is 160 with outdoor dining on a flagstone patio and white tent encircled by landscaped gardens. Intimate weddings of up to 50 guests can take place inside the Cope House from December through March. Portico holds just one event per day to give couples the time and attention they deserve.

Food + Drink

Weddings at Portico are catered by Peachtree Weddings. Menus are seasonal and customizable, with food prepared largely from scratch in our own kitchen. Offerings range from passed hors d’oeuvres and stationary displays to plated dinners, dinner stations, desserts and late-night snacks. Vegetarian and vegan options are available, and we can accommodate a range of dietary restrictions and allergies.

Wedding packages include a five-hour open bar, with opportunities to customize spirits, wines, local craft beer, seasonal and signature cocktails and other specialty selections.
