Johno at their Richmond location guided me through the process of putting together a tux that not only turned heads and warranted every compliment it collected, but felt amazing while enduring the abuse it fell victim to on a packed dance floor at the reception! Every detail, from the fabric to the piping, to the date of our big day stitched inside the jacket, came together in what can only be poetically described as a hot pile of sexy! Modesty aside, I’ve never looked more handsome and felt more confident than I did on my wedding day, and that was all thanks to Johno, Meredith, and the team at Alton Lane. And just in case anyone got the idea it was a fluke, I wore it again to a friend’s wedding recently, and the compliments came rolling in again. All potentially corny descriptions aside (I’m trying to make a point, folks), I highly recommend working with Alton Lane on your attire for your wedding day. The service, communication, and attention to detail are unmatched. You won’t regret it!!

These guys know what they're doing. All of my guys and our dads had great experiences and received suits that fit them and they plan to use for the future. They made it easy and were incredibly helpful in guiding me along the way. And coordinated all of the orders, even though several of my guys were spread across the country.

We went to Alton lane for my Husband's tux and the groomsmen's suits. They had so many great options it was almost overwhelming but the staff was great helping us decide on fabric and style. When they came in a few weeks later there was a small issue but they took care of it quickly and professionally. We've been back since and always have a great experience. I'd highly recommend checking them out.

The groom was in need of a nice suit for the wedding (he didn't even own one before the big day). We live close to New York City and were told by a friend to check out Alton Lane for custom suits. The service, selection and overall quality of the finished product were absolutely phenomenal. Now, he swears he'll never buy an off-the-rack suit. It was expensive, but totally worth it, as the suit looked stunning and felt great. The entire staff made the shopping experience a pleasure. He fully intends to wear his suit to any and all upcoming weddings and is looking forward to going back to Alton Lane for his next one.

This relatively new, but truly wonderful company was a pleasure to work with. I needed something affordable but classy. I was worried that they would be out of my league, and they can serve you if you have high end needs, but they can also serve someone who is on a more limited budget. The process of getting fitted is reassuring, exactly what you want from a custom tailor. They are expanding (DC, NY, Boston, & now Dallas), and they deserve to, their product and customer service hit it out of the park.

Ordered our Goom’s suit for our wedding in Aruba. My fiancé has had custom shirts and suits made at Alton lane before and they always come out great. This time we picked a Linen/wool mix Suit. The price was a bit higher than we wanted to spend so we shopped around at other bespoke shops in the area and found that no one had anything even close to what we were looking for. The selection of fabrics is amazing at Alton Lane. Go into their store on Newbury St to see all of their selections – their online site is severely lacking in options.

My husband bought a custom suit for our Wedding. The suit itself was a bit pricey but the quality is extremely high. It looked great on him and I'm sure it will last him many years.
Their hours are a bit difficult but it is worth it.

Terrible, inexcusably poor customer service. My husband paid a very large sum of money 3 months ago for 2 custom made suits and, 2 sports jackets and 2 pairs of pants and to date he has only received 1 suit. After waiting and waiting he called today, and the rest has not even been ordered?!?!?!?!!

That is insane! They were quick to take our money, only to sit on it, and now he will not have his winter suit until who knows when. Alton Lane came so highly recommended, and certainly isn't cheap, not that we expected it to be..... But this low level of customer service speaks to the low level of quality of the establishment itself. It really is unconscionable that they should treat us so haphazardly, very quick to take our order and money, then toss us aside. We were going to order a tuxedo but now I cannot imagine why we would do so.

Don't do it. Do NOT do it. You will be very disappointed and you will have spent a fortune on something that you're not happy wearing. And they won't honor their commitment to make it right. Don't do it.

I have never written a Yelp review before. In fact, I signed up for Yelp expressly for the purpose of posting this review and saving others a boatload of disappointment and angst. Don't do it.

There are many other places that can make your custom clothing in Washington. I have no problem spending what it takes for exceptional clothing. I do have a problem spending quite a lot of money for something that is literally unwearable. Don't make this mistake.

When we buy a product, especially an expensive one (like a single shirt for $297), we expect it to be right. Those of us who are proud of our attire and select it carefully especially want it to be right. This place does not do it right and, more importantly, won't do the right thing to make it right. When they committed to refund my money - but then didn't when I returned the shirt - I had to save others from this "all hype" place.

One more time, a huge flashing warning to you: don't do it.
