I set up a consultation and met with Flor & Maria. Maria told me she has been a seamstress over 30 years. They made me feel comfortable through each step and I did not feel like I was being oversold for something I did not need. They said I should take up the length a bit & also created some bustles in the back since my gown had a train. They scheduled me to come back in 3 weeks for my final fitting. At my final fitting the dress was looking great! The hem for the length was adjusted perfectly, and the bustles were placed as well! They even showed my sister who I brought as well how to loop each button on the bustle so it would look perfect. (They also did alterations on her dress as well!) We then scheduled for me to pick up the dress 2 weeks later right before my wedding! Everything went smooth and the dress was amazing! I knew I was in excellent hands! After trying on a wide array of wedding dresses at more traditional shops, I was feeling underwhelmed and dissatisfied.

Thank god for Altered Bride! Flor de Liz and Jack-Peter were able to make my dream (fully custom!) wedding dress a reality. I was grateful to be a part of the creative process from the beginning, choosing between beautiful fabrics and designs, lengths and colors… The planning and execution made the whole experience feel so tangible and enriching. I wanted my dress to encapsulate my style and personality, and the team nailed it. It’s truly one of a kind and something I will always treasure.

The finished look was a structured leather corset with pearl details, a gorgeous lace skirt, voluminous overskirt, and dramatic cathedral veil (and a shorter one for the reception!). I can’t even tell you how many compliments I received! My (now) husband was in tears seeing me for the first time, and he couldn’t stop raving about it. It’s even making it to mood boards on Pinterest! I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

A wedding dress is one of the most significant pieces a woman will ever possess, so I’m eternally grateful for going this route and trusting the process.

Such a great experience working with Altered Bride. I got my dress at David's Bridal but after a few issues with the ordering there I decided not to do alterations with them. I found Altered Bride through The Knot website and I can't say enough how happy I am with the whole process and the result! They listen, they offer advice, and then give you the dress you dreamed of.

Originally my dress was from David’s Bridal. It was an ok dress but after being fully altered including shortening the hem, being taken in, slit opening, bra cups, added boning, hand sewed lace applique, bust darts, sleeve adjustment, & steaming it all done by Altered Bride it became a show stopping dress!

They listened and took in all my needs of comfort, mobility & inspiration.

The inspiration is drawn from Lord of the Rings, & Star Wars.

I had a train that we decided to turn into a cape/cloak to meet the inspiration of Star Wars / Lord Of the Rings. Hand made braids were added to give it an “elvish” touch while sleeves were added to give a Jedi look. All the attention to detail from the team is UNMATCHED.

Suggestions and support were made by the team on site to achieve the perfect look to fit my needs. Also I wanted to be able to wear my cloak to Disneyland after the wedding so they assisted me in making it a functional piece by adding in sleeves and a bustle.

My wedding party also received alterations here and loved the team, overall vibe of the location, support & suggestions.

I had an excellent experience with Altered Bridal. I first met with the seamstress, Maria, for a free consultation, and right when I walked in she was very kind and knowledgable about the alterations I needed and wanted for my dress. I shopped around for a few other alterations places, but none of them were as kind and welcoming as the staff at Altered Bride. I was told by other places that with the details of my dress, it'd be too complicated and too much work, and it was like they didn't want to deal with it so I was met with rudeness and charged 1k+ at all these other places. I found a cheaper alterations place but was met with the same rudeness, then I remembered how kindly I was treated at Altered Bride, and their prices weren't outrageous. So I came back to Altered Bride and they were more than happy to take care of my dress. Maria was very thorough in explaining what changes would be done to my dress, and said they charge fair prices for the work, which was true in my experience. She made absolute sure I was happy with the changes before she made the final alterations, so I knew and trusted my dress was in good hands.

I bought my dress off the rack at Brilliant Bridal, so it needed to be taken in and hemmed. It also had a train, so they created a bustle. It was a pretty long train, and it was HEAVY, but that bustle was SECURE. I also work in the wedding industry and I can't tell you how many poorly done bustles I've seen that just break or rip the dress. My initial dress was a strapless, but I was always looking for detachable sleeves. I told them this, and they created custom sleeves for me made with some of the lace detail from my dress! But also because I'm extra, I wanted a different look for the reception, so they also created straps. Just with these simple additions, it totally upgraded the look of my dress, and I got two looks in one, technically three if I wanted to.

I met Flor and JP, the owners, at my final fitting, and it was great to be met with such enthusiasm and excitement for my big day. Even after my wedding passed, they were still supportive. I called and asked if they did wedding dress cleaning, which they don't in store, but they have a cleaner they work with, so they accepted my dress for cleaning with no problem. I just dropped it off and picked it up there with no need to go someplace else. And they do more than wedding dresses, they do everything! They're even working on some of their own pieces, which you will see inside store. I will definitely be coming back here whenever I need something altered!

Overall, everything about my experience and my dress was perfect, and I couldn't recommend Altered Bride more. I couldn't be happier and I feel good knowing I'm supporting a local small business!

For the highest quality and most unique looking bridal alterations you can ask for, this is the place! Had my wife's bridal gown fitted with love lots of love and care! They're very patient and professional, we even looked at styles and options we would've never considered. We ended up adding some light leather touches to the finish to give the dress a unique gothic style that was very tasteful!
