I’ve been a customer of Alterations by Laura for several years and have always been pleased with the results. Laura altered several cocktail dresses, a suit for a job interview, several pairs of slacks, and most recently my wedding gown. I have total confidence in her abilities.
I had four fittings with Laura for my wedding gown. Each time she showed me the most recent changes and was sweet and patient while I fussed about how it looked. She truly seemed to understand the importance of getting the gown perfect. I felt like she cared as much about the dress as I did! In the end, it fit like a glove and was very complimentary. She also ordered an undergarment that was perfect for it and altered that as well. (The dress had a low cut back, and most corsets would have shown).
It’s like magic – every time I receive the altered garment back, I look for the new seams or other tell-tale signs of alterations. None to be found! You can’t tell where she cut or sewed. You’ll swear that you bought the clothes that way.
Laura truly has an eye for this work. On several occasions, she’s suggested making some additional changes that I didn’t occur to me. (For example, she suggested shortening a formal dress a bit more so I would taller. This was an excellent idea, since I am shorter and stouter than everyone else in my family. It really made me look better in the pictures!) Always trust her suggestions. She’s a pro.
Laura completes the work on time and gives her customers personal attention to ensure their satisfaction. Highly recommended to anyone!
