About Alhambra Hall

Alhambra Hall is nestled in the Old Village section of Mount Pleasant. Overlooking the Charleston Harbor, this former Ferry Terminal is appointed with hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, and porches that wrap around three sides of the building. A popular wedding venue, Alhambra Hall's rental space consists of a downstairs foyer, restrooms, and the main hall (located upstairs) with an adjoining service kitchen. Use of the grounds and the porches is included with the rental as well as a limited number of tables and chairs for use inside the hall. The hall is approximately 3280 square feet and can accommodate a maximum of 350 people. The hall measures 40 feet wide by 80 feet long.     Only venue I needed to see

    Fell in love with the view and casual coastal vibe the second I saw it, and immediately booked it. Huge lawn overlooking the harbor with big oak trees, and large 2 story building For reception with big waterfront porch. Beachy Seagrass furniture downstairs, and bridal suites w private bath, and there are several bathrooms for guests. Beautiful wooden vaulted ceiling on 2nd floor with Mahogany chairs and large tables included in price, a rareity. You won’t find a better venue for the price. I can’t wait to get married here!

    Gorgeous and Affordable

    For one of the most affordable places in Charleston for a wedding, you sure get one of the most beautiful venues! We could hardly get our guests inside to dance until well after the sun went down - they were all on the outside porch enjoying the amazing views and weather. We had a lot of out of town guests was blown away with how beautiful the setting was. Great price and very easy to work with. I would recommend getting a wedding coordinator at least day of to take care of cleaning up afterwards so you don't have to worry about it.

    We loved our wedding at Alhambra Hall!! It is so gorgeous! The guests loved this beautiful venue - with the gorgeous outdoor water views for cocktail hour and then upstairs in the ballroom for dinner and dancing. We had 130 guests for a seated/plated dinner and a band and the room size was perfect - spacious for guests and did not feel empty/bare. We did our formal family pictures on the lawn during 'golden hour' to get those amazing sunset pictures. I loved working with Willa Mae at Alhambra - she is absolutely the sweetest and it is clear that she takes pride in her responsibilities at Alhambra Hall.

    My cousin once told me when looking for venues to look at the carpets... because that heinous tacky hotel carpet will be in all of your pictures - that's why I LOVED Alhambra... gorgeous hardwood floors and tall exposed beams (no tacky decor to hide!). We had a day-of wedding coordinator that helped so much. Alhambra Hall is so pretty being on the water, but there is not much additional decoration - which is great because you won't have to worry about the tacky/gaudy decorations like at other wedding venues... but this does mean that you will have to do a bit more leg work of decorating the hall to your liking. Alhambra staff does not set up the room so you will have to hire someone to do this.

    It was so nice to have a somewhat private larger bathroom downstairs for when my bridesmaids had to help me go to the bathroom :)
    We paid the company Doody Calls $60 to arrive an hour before the reception to clean up all of the dog and geese poop. You can also hire a company to spray for bugs but the bugs were not bad at the time of the wedding.

    I love that Alhambra is owned/operated by the town of Mount Pleasant because it's more likely that it will be around in the years to come to visit and reminisce vs. hotels that can change ownership. I would absolutely recommend Alhambra to any bride that is not afraid to put in a little extra work!
