Your bouquet after the wedding?

Mrs. Reese's Pieces, on June 5, 2012 at 8:23 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 15

I saw this on Pinterest and thought it was pretty cool for ladies who want to keep their bouquets. I would totally do this if I was actually using real flowers instead of the paper bouquet.... then again, maybe I'll do it with my paper bouquet anyway, why not? Smiley smile

I put mine in a basket ball case and put my cake toper on top of the box.

Garter, tiara, Hubby's boutonniere, shot glass favor, guitar picks from the live band, and feather butterflies in memory of DH Mom who passed 6 weeks before the wedding.

I saw that pic on pinterest too. The flowers are freeze dried..I'm not sure where that is done or how much it would cost but I'm going to look into it.

Holy cow! I looked up freeze drying your flowers, and the companies that do it and make a box similar to the picture run $160 (for a small/partial bouquet) to $300!! I will just be drying out my flowers and placing them in a box myself!

A friend of mine made my bouquets and I love them! I am actually going to put mine in a flower arrangement in my livingroom when we move.

My bouquet from my first wedding is still in a box in my FHs garage (if onlyhe knew!!) and waiting to be tossed (away!) I told my daughters they are responsible for keeping my bouquet beautiful until I get back from my honeymoon (a week), but of course I'm sure they will be the ones enjoying its beauty while Im away, I imagine I'll return to a "dried" bouquet !

Will the flowers turn out cruddy looking if you just let them dry out?

Nope! Hang them upside down. I still have the arrangement from when FH proposed!

They look great and everytime I look at them, I smile.

I bought a nice glass case I want to put them in...do I have to take the bouquet apart and individually hang them, or can I just hang the whole thing? Sorry about the dumb question lol

I really do love the idea of preserving things from the wedding... I think I'll do a shadowbox with all the stuff in it like Hayley!!

I have also heard of dipping them into hot wax, but i'm not for sure if it works, that is just something I heard.
