Wedding Invitation Envelope Printing

Amanda, on May 16, 2012 at 2:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

We got our invitations!!!! Purchased from www.exclusivelyweddings.com, they're everything I could have wanted! Now it comes down to addressing them. My mom says that using printed labels would be tacky. I need to get these in the mail in about a week.

Thoughts?

I plan on using address labelss also, the clear ones. I really don't think people will make a big deal about them.

I agree with Karis, clear labels would work, just use a font that draws the attention of the receiver so that they don't even knowtis.

Instead of labels we plan to use an envelope template and print them directly on the envelopes in a pretty cursive font.

I use the printer. You can download a pretty handwritten font and away you go! fast and you can double check everything before you print so less mistakes!

I used clear labels. It was actually my mom's idea because she was going to have to address them all. No one cared, or at least none of my guests have commented. My FH's opinion was…"we live in the 21st century, why wouldn't we use technology to do this? Who hand writes anything anymore?" I couldn't argue with that logic.

I hand wrote them all, but I only had 88 to do, so I did 20 a night for 4 nights (a few more the last night). They went pretty quickly and the printer sent me a guide to put in the envelope so my lines were straight.

I had the return address printed on the envelope (by the printer)

We just printed on the envelopes, address and return address and added a decorative vine design on it to go with our invitations. We had 90 envelopes to address. No way were we going to hand write them. Plus with mail merge on Microsoft Word......way easier.

I got my invitations from that site as well and I LOVED THEM.

I order free labels from Vistaprint with our names and adress and got a design that matched our wedding color/theme. I hand wrote peoples names and their addresses.

I used clear address labels and chose a calligraphy font using Microsoft Word. They looked very elegant

Thanks everyone! We decided to go with the clear labels. They will be sent out before my mom finds out, so it will just be a surprise to her! Smiley smile

I printed using my printer at home directly on the envelopes. I used Microsoft publisher and created a template the same size as the envelopes. I have to type to mailing address one by one...but it looks great!

I went to staples and got an address stamp. I thought about doing address labels but I didnt like the way it looked. They were able to do a nice script font. I am not putting a return address on the main envelope, only on the rsvp cards.

Now we have an address stamp for all of our out going mail. :-) good luck

You can use printed labels but not only have you needed a good printer also computer knowledge to get those correctly done. I used message in a bottle paper invitations from here for a business party and it was over 100 labels I had to get done. Then I found printed mailing labels service from same people. It’s kind of a hidden, not advertised product. It’s fully worth it. I ordered invitations before they showed me this product, but I'm pretty sure you do not have to order invitations.

You can print directly on the envelopes instead of on a label! Just be sure to have a few extra envelopes because it can take some time to get them to feed in correctly! I know I've wasted a handful until I got it down to a science!

Not all labels are tacky. You can do wrap labels (also called envelope icing) and still look really classy : )
