SUV limo vs party bus?

Rosie, on October 5, 2010 at 2:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

FH and I are booking our limo this week, but neither of us have very strong opinions on it. There will be 14 of us in the limo (and maaaybe a few extras if we let SOs of our bridal party come with us).

Our 2 options are 1) a Lincoln Navigator limo, which has 18 seats (I was told "seat" means "seatbelt"....so if they say 18 seats, that number of people wouldn't fit in there comfortably), and 2) a 22 passenger party bus. A representative from the limo company also told us that before our wedding date, they're upgrading the bus to a newer one that seats 26 people instead, but they'll honor the original price if we book first. The bus is actually a little bit cheaper than the SUV. I've heard the buses are much more comfortable, but would it look stupidly big for our group of 14? What are the pros and cons of each..which would you go for? I attached a pic of their current bus to give you an idea, even though it'll apparently be different. Thanks for your help!

Get the bus. You want to be comfortable, especially in long dresses. It can be tough to get in and out of a limo; busses are much easier.

We saw limos at a bridal show and I personally liked the buses, they had a lot of room and that's important because we're tall, and the limos we had to struggle to get in and out of

I rented a 22 passanger shuttle for my guests from the nearby hotel to the reception/ceremony site and back. I will be using the shuttle to get from the hotel to the venue along with my BMs and mother/fmil...its just a lot more convenient because theres a lot of space and we can carry all our crap...dress/bouquets...etc. I think the SUV is more if you are going for looks vs convenience

Phew thanks, that was fast! You three are the best. Smiley smile @Cris, it wouldn't be one of the shuttles with standard bus seats, but with seats lining the outside walls like normal limo seats do.

Would it look dumb with a huge 26 person bus for 14 of us?

I don't think so, You want comfort over anything else, and atleast you know you won't be cramped.

Personally i think the bus gives more of the party feeling and the suv gives the elegant but classy but nice feeling. jsut depends what your really going for. IMHO

    Party bus! Whoop whoop!

Seriously, while limos are cool and all, they're a pain to get in and out of, and you might stick a heel through your skirt. At least, that's what I always wind up doing!

Hahah Shannon that's what I think of every time I refer to it as a party bus...it sounds so lame lol. It seems like a lot of you think the limo would be a pain to get in and out of, so it seems like the bus might be the best option. Smiley smile

I think we're getting a bus too... Just because we'll be a lot of people in it. But be careful what kind of drinks are stocked in there because if anyone spills... oh my... No red wine in mine lol

I'd go for the bus too. Especially since you don't want to offend your bridal party of their significant others by telling them their dates can't come on the bus. Keep the drama to a minimum by including all!
