How much are you paying for Hair & Makeup?

I've been having the same problem, so I decided to have a friend of mine do my hair and then do my own make up that way I have my make up done the way I want it and I know it's not going to get messed up.

We found people on Craigslist for both our ceremony (near Boston) and our at-home reception (in DC). The Boston person did both hair and make-up for $50 per person, and the DC person did them both for $60 per person. Both of them came to our location.

$55 for hair and $55 for makeup

$400 for hair AND makeup for two people averages $100 per service. Is the bridal hairdo driving that up? Does that include a trial? $100 sounds somewhat reasonable for a bridal hairdo but ridiculous for makeup application.

I wonder if the price pp would go down if more people participate. They have to factor in travel time, mileage, etc- spread out over more people it might be cheaper pp.

Two of my friends are pro stylists so they're not charging me but I'm pretty sure they start at around $75-$100 for a bride's hairstyle. Not sure about makeup though.

I am getting ready for my wedding on a cruise ship so I am having the Spa do my hair and an up-do is $110 on the ship. I am not sure about the makeup yet. Maybe I will have a friend that is a hair stylist come to my wedding LOL!

Well my hair will start at $65, depending on what I have done, and the make up is $65.

Hair:

Bride $125

Bridesmaid $65

Short Hair/Blow Out $45

Flower Girl ( ten and under) $35

Make Uptraditional)

Bride $120

Bridesmaid $60

Flower Girl $15 (lip gloss and blush or shadow)

Lashes are $20.00 extra

20 dollars extra for airbrush makeup. Trials are separate. 50 dollars for hair trial. 80 dollars for hair and makeup trial.

Another person/company I looked at was 90 dollars per service per person.

I am continuing my search in hopes of finding more reasonably prices services.

My total is 425 for my hair/makeup and tattoo coverage, along with my MOH hair and make up and a trial.

I can't believe people actually quote makeup application for a FG. That's totally silly IMO. It takes five seconds to swipe lip gloss on a kid!

Honestly that hair quote doesn't seem THAT ridiculous, it's the makeup quote that looks off.....although airbrush equipment is expensive and you have to keep it super clean, so I can see why they upcharge that.

The fact that the bride is charged twice as much as a bridesmaid in that quote totally turns me off. I'm sorry but it is not going to be twice as difficult to do my hair/makeup than it is my bridesmaid.

The prices you were quoted sounds pretty standard compared to all the quotes I've gotten.

For makeup, I'm paying $150 + $100-150 travel fee. Bridesmaid and moms makeup is $65 each

For hair, I don't have anyone booked yet but I'm going for a trial next week. If I book with them it will be $125 for me + $75 travel fee and BM/moms hair is $65 each

I hate that I have to pay travel fees but all of the hair/makeup people I found that I liked are in the same general area, which is about 30 miles from where we'll be getting ready...so I'm pretty much going to be stuck paying for travel no matter who I book. It will be worth it for me to have everyone get ready at my house together, though.

I'm a MUA, so one of my friends that's an MUA will be doing my makeup for free and my hair will be about $125, because I'm getting extensions.

I am paying a total of $420 for:

Hair & make up trial

Massage

Pedi, 2 manis

Hair & make up day of the wedding

I called and priced about 10 places... they were giving me anywhere from $45-95 and with the length and thickness of my hair it would have probably been closer to 100 for wedding day AND Trial (so close to 200 total).. so there is $200 alone on my hair... and make up was $40-60 for just the wedding day, no trial.

I would say I got a good "Bride" package! I hope!

I'm looking at about $200 for hair and makeup. However, I'm pricing the airbrush makeup with is more pricey than traditional. I am the only one getting hair and makeup, so no deals for me. I have no bridesmaids, no flower girl, only a Matron of Honor and I don't think she wants to spend the money, but I honestly haven't asked. The trials are running about $100 for both hair and makeup. I am only pricing people that will come to me. I figured one less stress...me driving around town might not be a grand idea, lol!

I don't think it's twice as hard to do a bride's hair, but they might spend more time making sure it's right than they will with a mom or BM. I know my friends who are doing my hair/makeup want to start on me 2 hours before the dress goes on, whereas they only allotted 45 minutes or so for each BM and my mom.

Honestly FMOhler your quote isn't that off. My friend is a MUA and she is charging me $65 (normally $150) for day of air brush with lashes. Probably the same for my BM traditional or air brush..

One of my BM's is getting married and the MUA she chose was $150/ea for everyone including bride for traditional plus $15 for lashes. Another $25 if we wanted airbrushing which I think is absurd!! Needless to say I told her I'll be getting lashes only (as did the rest of the BM)
