Bride & Groom Gifts to Each Other

It really depends on the individual couple, some buy something extravagant, other people just do something simple that means something.

I am going to have a boudoir photo shoot and give an album with the pictures to FH. But! Usually you give the presents while you two are getting ready (best man and MOH deliver) so I don't really want to give him that while he's getting ready haha so I'm going to put together a small basket or something with a few of his favorite things in it.

Typically the groom buys his bride a piece of jewelry or something, that she can wear on their wedding day. No idea what FH is getting me =0)

I've heard of this and I know some people will either buy or do something special. I was going to be FH a Tag, but since I've gone back to school and not working full-time, obviously this became out of my budget. We'll probably get massages done in Punta Cana. It's just right now, with me in school, his income pays for everything. He was giving me a hard time that I was buying him a bday gift with his money. LOL.

I was going to give FH some fun, quirky cufflinks. However, I found out the tux rental place includes some, so I now see no point especially since he'll never wear them again. I'm still trying to figure out another idea, but I'm not sure. There was another thread not long ago and they said that traditionally you give a timepiece, so maybe I'll do that.

Oh and I was considering the boudoir photo idea, too, but also not wanting to give it to him right before the wedding. Don't need him all worked up just before walking down the aisle when he's gonna have to wait until after the reception's over to get some!

I am spending the year from now until we are married writing in a special journal for my FH. Love poems, thoughts of what I would like to see our life be like, my feelings on how wonderful he makes me feel when we are together, how I feel when he is away etc. . . . It's something no one else can give him and he will always have it (I HOPE)

I'm going a little larger... he's a big American muscle kinda guy and he wants he dream car so I think I'm going to get him an old beat up car for him to be able to fix up. It sounds weird I'm sure but it's something that he has always wanted so dreams about so I've been on the look out for it and have my heart set on it. Stupid thing is, it will probably cost more than the wedding. lol

I should complete my answer by saying, that IF WE END UP GETTING MARRIED HE WILL GET IT, I AM STILL PRAYING THINGS CONTINUE TO GO WELL, HE IS AT HIS 3RD AA MEETING TONIGHT, HE REALLY DOESN'T WANT TO LOOSE ME

That's a really sweet idea Dianne! I never thought of anything like that! I want to do something special for him, I just have no idea what just yet. I love the idea of boudior photography.. I actually looked around for some photographers that do it in my area, maybe I'll look further into it..

My FH & I decided to get each other something special on our honeymoon. We're going to Italy so I'll probably pick out a nice pasta bowl or something like that. If it were up to him it would be an italian x-box game?! Lol

I don't want to be "pressured" into spending the money on something for eachother, because knowing him, he'd go all out and buy me jewelry, that as much as I love it, I don't need. lol

So I'd like to just do something small, but sentimental. We'll see how he goes for it!

I would probably get away aheaper if I went with a nice timepiece. I just priced the car he wants, 1969 Dodge Charger... they are about 15K... that's for the ickey ones, rofl!!! Okay, so I'm taking ideas now too... anyone? lol

My FH keeps buying me things and says "Im suppose to buy you a wedding gift"...hahaha. I tell him, ya ONE not one every week. I still have no idea what I will get him. Ive tried to get an idea of something he would want but he keeps telling me that Im all he needs (he's too sweet). I bought him a pocket watch as an engagement present and had it engraved.

FH is a bit classic at times. Since we started dating he's been talking about wanting a pocket watch because according to him "it's classic!" I just need to find the perfect one.

We will get each other something I just don't know what. LOL That was helpful wasn't it?!

@FMJ check out local junkyards. It will be a lot more work but it will also be more affordable.

WE budgeted our selves each 200 each to spend on our gifts.

Im having a custom cake topper made with us on our motorcycle with a sidecar added with our boys and dogs inside. going to cost me 140

Going to find something to get with the last 60 bucks but dont know what yet.
