Of the entire wedding planning process, the wedding gown purchase was the worst experience that I had. Ventura was the second store that I visited to look for my wedding gown. They have a huge selection of gowns and they are priced slightly better than other boutiques in Houston. This is why I decided to order my gown from them. I went in 5 months before my wedding to order the gown, and they measured me and said that I needed to order a size 6. Luckily, one of my bridesmaids who recently got married advised me to order a size 4 (I would have had to get some major alteration work if I had listened to the sales consultant). After I placed my order and paid my deposit, I called to get a estimated time of arrival on my gown. I asked to speak to the sales consultant that was working with me, and they said she was unavailable every time. Finally, I spoke to the manager and asked her to provide an estimated time of arrival on my gown. She told me that I needed to put a rush on my dress or else it would not arrive in time to get alterations done. I was really upset that this was not brought to my attention when I placed the order. I asked to speak to the owner, and it was only then that the sales consultant called me back. She told me that the rush was not necessary and that they were simply trying to "cushion" the arrival time. I trusted her with this as I did not want to spend any more money on shipping. When my dress came in, I took it to a family friend to get alterations done since she could do it quicker and for less. In hindsight, I would have paid more at another boutique to have peace of mind and not be stressed out about my dress.

I tried on several dresses at Ventura Bridal but I just didn't like any for the cost. Finally, the owner brought over a close out sottero & midgley gown that was absolutely amazing. I promptly bought it! It did need to be altered so when I called to schedule the alteration Ventura refused. They said even if I paid they would not alter the gown. I still don't understand this and was pretty upset I was told before hand. I liked the selection if you go just ask alot of questions. Also, be prepared there are mostly very young girls that work there and aren't always very polite. Overall, Mrs. Ventura has better prices then the chain places. You'll just have to endure a few negatives.

I ended up finding an alteration place that was easy, friendly, and made my dress fit like a glove. It's called Beautiful U.

I ran into a lot of issues with them,which could have been prevented if my dress was order correctly.

Ventura's Bridal was awesome! I highy recommend working with Jesscia! She treated me so great and was so supportive and always remembered me when I came in. Even if it was just to make a payment.

I found my wedding dress at Ventura's Bridal in Houston. Geanie helped me find the PERFECT dress for the most special day of my life. It may not look like much from the outside...or the inside for that matter, but let me tell you, if you want selection, go to Ventura's! They don't have the same cookie cutter type of dresses that you'll find at David's Bridal or Alfred Angelo. The service was great, even though they always seem to be so busy on the weekends. I would defintely recommend booking a mid-week, mid-morning appointment so you don't feel rushed. They also handled my alterations, which came out amazing! If you don't want to spend an arm and a leg but want a great quality selection to choose from, I would highly recommend them.

I initially found my dress at another well known bridal salon in Katy. I decided to shop around and went to Ventura's on a friend's recommendation. When I called and made the appointment, I requested a specific dress and they said they didn't have a sample. When I arrived at my appointment, my consultant, Jessica, had managed to find and pull the dress that I requested. Jessica was awesome!! I HIGHLY recommend her! She knows her stuff. I also ordered my bridesmaids' dresses through Ventura's, since they were $50 cheaper than anybody else.
*Note to future brides/bridesmaids - Jim Hjelm dresses run SMALL! If your consultant tells you to order a size or 2 up, DO IT!

I said "Yes" to the dress here! Crystal was my consultant and she was absolutley AMAZING!!! Every time I came in the bridal salon she greeted me with a hug and asked how everything was going. There was a slight miscommunciation with the alterations department on when I needed my dress for my bridals but they took care of it and made sure I had my dress in time. Overall I had a great experience!

This was the second stop on my dress shopping adventure and it should have been my first and last. I had no idea what I wanted and the consultant narrowed it down in a jiffy and even helped me find the dress! The best compliment I received is that the "dress was made for me!"
They even were flexible with scheduling issues and all my questions and procrastination!

My dress was absolutely beautiful!! It is absolutely crazy on the weekend but much better during the weekdays. Be sure to schedule the fittings well in advance as they do fill up quickly. My dress came earlier than expected. I did minimal alterations, and the dress looked great. It was great that I could store the dress there until the wedding dress. It was pressed and ready to go on time.

Ventura's helped me find my amazing wedding dress!! The best part is (beside it being gorgous!) the price was less expensive than other bridal shops! Highly recommend getting your dress there! Word to the wise...always shop around for prices before you purchase your dress somewhere. For the same dress I got from Venturas, it was literally DOUBLE the cost at Princess Bridal!

I loved shopping here. They have so many dresses and at great prices! Much more selction and uniqueness than the chain bridal salons. They do alterations on site and will store your dress for you until your wedding day! They also steam it before you take it and provide a cleaning service if you choose to take it back to them. The girls working there are so nice and very helpful.

I went to Ventura's Bridal because I am a plus size Bride. Ventura's has a large selection of different style plus size gowns to choose from. I found my dress displayed not in my size but I fell in love with it! I was assured by the staff that the type of dress I wanted would work for my body. I took the plunge and was not disappointed! I was however disappointed with the arrival of my bridesmaids dresses, they were late! I was quoted a date twice by the staff, all my BM were from out of town, and the weekend they were in town, the weekend they stated the dresses would be ready the were not! Therefore, I had to pay to ship them to the ladies. Everyone was beautiful. The management staff did not take responsibility for their staff and the dates given.

Ventura Bridal was where my daughter found her dream dress for her wedding. She looked so beautiful and received a ton of complements on the dress. We had Maria for our salesperson and apparently for this place, that makes the experience good or bad. She was great. She first found out our price range and then what style we liked and what we had in mind. I wanted Jessica to have beading on it and Maria found one that both Jessica and I loved.
