  We met with Jon and Joan in Indianapolis in May 2017 for our engagement photos. We had been rained out a couple of weeks before, but I have no doubt that those photos would have been spectacular! We found their website through a post on Reddit, and were immediately impressed by their work. Their online portfolio is true to the style and quality we received from our shoot, and we could not have been happier with the result! They are a great couple who not only are professional and talented photographers, but so fun to spend time with as well. They were such pleasure to meet and work with, and made my fiancé and I feel comfortable during the shoot. They gave just the right amount of direction (for us who have never had professional photos done before), and our pictures came out looking natural and relaxed. We would highly recommend BellowBlue!

  Timeless Photos, Creative and Professional Team

  Jon and Joan are amazing to work with! From engagement to wedding day, the whole experience was personal, enjoyable, very professional and very creative. They are both organized and thorough offering ideas and suggestions for your photo list and day-of timeline to keep the big day moving as smoothly as possible. Our family planned a last-minute surprise for my mother the day before the wedding, and Jon and Joan made it their mission to be available and a part of the surprise by capturing those memories, which we are so grateful for. Not to mention, the pictures are timeless, gorgeous, and more than we could have hoped for. We highly recommend working with them!

  Words cannot describe how lucky we were to have Joan & Jon photograph our wedding! First of all, they are wonderful people who were just extremely pleasant to be around. They were quick to respond to my incessant emails. I was really worried that I would scare them off at one point with all my outlandish ideas, but they were very flexible and helped me figure out realistic goals. Photos are very important to me, while great composition is nice and all, it really is about capturing the moment and when I look back at the photos of the wedding, they managed to capture really special moments and showcase them in such a beautiful way. My husband absolutely loves them! When I was talking about photography and videography, I could tell he was apprehensive, but after meeting Joan & Jon, he couldn't stop raving about them.
  
  We just received access to our online gallery and everything looks gorgeous. All my family and friends keep going on and on about the photos! I had such a hard time picking my favorite ones (still don't have a favorite, they are all so special).
  
  Quick note on how we ended up choosing BellowBlue: I'm actually an avid photographer, it's one of my favorite pastimes and while I'm not a professional I definitely knew what I wanted. I created a spreadsheet with about 25 photographers from the Chicagoland/Illinois/Midwest area. I had my criteria, and they checked all the boxes. They have this great fine art/photojournalistic style which was what I wanted, and they were definitely worth every penny. Great value for outstanding photography!

We were immediately impressed by how kind and professional they were as well as how their work seemed to capture the joy and love of the couples they photographed. Joan and Jon shot both our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos and we couldn’t have been happier with how both turned out. Joan and Jon are extremely creative and fun to be around which helped make us even more relaxed and enjoy the process leading up to, and on, the big day. It was great to have two photographers on the wedding day to not only shoot both the bride and groom getting ready but also to have two vantage points for photographs during the wedding ceremony and reception. Also, because Joan and Jon are married, they naturally demonstrate set-up for their shots which results in very genuine looking photos. Although our wedding day was rainy you wouldn’t know it from the photographs. The lighting is unbelievable and the pictures certainly capture the joy, love and fun of the day. We just received our photographs and were very pleased with the outcome, as were our friends and family. The photos beautifully blended capturing the joy and special moments of our wedding while reflecting both Joan and Jon’s artistic talent. In sum, the pictures were beautifully creative. We would recommend BellowBlue in a heartbeat. If you are looking for the best wedding photographer you don’t need to look any further. You won’t find a more creative, talented, thoughtful, professional, responsive and fun duo. We promise.

  Jon and Joan were nothing short of amazing during our wedding weekend. I had found them through an Instagram picture of a wedding in Chicago and immediately fell in love with their unique style of photography. From the moment we first called them, through the end of our wedding night, we were absolutely thrilled with the decision to have them as part of our special day. Jon and Joan came to Chicago, IL for our engagement session and then to Denver, CO for our wedding. They were professional, accomodating and extremely easy and fun to work with. The hardest part has truthfully been narrowing down the countless images we love to create an album.

We had a very specific vision in mind and after we found their website we just knew that they were "the ones". Since we live a few hours away our first meeting was conducted over Skype. What a great idea! This allowed us to have any of our questions answered and get a feel for their personalities. It was an immediate connection. My husband asked if we couldn't have them for some reason as our photographers can we have them as friends? We finally got to meet Jon and Joan when we did our engagement shoot. They take the time to scout out areas ahead of time so the shoot is easy breezy. Very accommodating to any of your needs. We had to wait 5 long months to see them again at the wedding but they did great. Our family calls them the photo ninjas because they were able to capture everything, beautifully, without ever seeing them. We recently got our pictures back and we were both blown away.   Joan and Jon were amazing photographers. They were nimble and flexible when it came to our requests, and supportive of our quirks. They even managed to make my photo-phobic husband feel entirely comfortable--and even eager--to have photos taken of us. I strongly recommend them to any future brides & grooms. They're the best!

  I don't know if I can find enough words to say that picking Joan and Jon from BellowBlue as our wedding photographers was hands down one of the best decisions we have made for our wedding. We recently did our engagement photo session with them at the Majestic Madison (as featured on their blog- http://bellowblueblog.com/?p=9826) and even when I pictured in my head what our photos were going to look like, I don't think I could have imagined anything like how they turned out - Simply amazing! It has been a week since the session was posted and I continue to receive compliments on it daily. My fiancé and I felt that they really listened to what was important to us and made it into a beautiful reality. As a designer, I wanted something a little more artistic for our wedding. I searched for hours looking for the perfect photographers who would help bring to light our special day in a way that was anything but run of the mill - and when I stumbled on BellowBlue's website I was in awe. After meeting Joan and Jon (we ended up talking with them in a coffee shop for over an hour!) my fiancé and I had no reservations in booking them immediately. If what they did for our engagement session is any indication of what is yet to come for the wedding, I absolutely cannot wait. The two of them are creative, professional and down to earth - You can tell they are the kind of people who want to make your day as special as you do.

  We could not have asked for two better, more professional photographers to capture all of our special moments that took place on our wedding day. Having not one but two amazingly professional photographers capture our special moments was so wonderful. All angles were shot and both Jon and Joan’s shots put together created a beautiful story for us! From shortly after we got engaged to throughout our entire wedding journey, Joan and Jon provided us with excellent communication and loads of information needed to prepare for our wedding. Joan and Jon would answer any questions we had leading up to the big day via email, telephone or Skype. We never had to wait longer than 12 hours to gain any type of response. This made me feel SO good as a bride. Joan and Jon provided us with their professional opinions on what type of shots to take, what lighting to use, etc. They were also super open to doing anything we requested. Joan and Jon made our day all about us, the bride and groom. They were constantly by our side if we needed anything or wanted special things captured. Their presence throughout the entire day was so discrete and respectful, especially during our wedding ceremony. We had a full Catholic mass and I honestly cannot remember once seeing them snap a photo. They are that awesome… so respectful and professional . We were also surprised with a video that was made by Joan and Jon that summed up our wedding day so beautifully. They did this amazing feature where it looks like the photos put together are moving. All of the highlights of the day are included in our video and a beautiful song plays quietly in the background. I think we have watched the video over ten times already and we have only had our photos for less than 24 hours! Joan and Jon NEVER missed a beat. Every single detail was included in our photos. We saw things in our photos that we never even saw on our wedding day! We would highly recommend Joan and Jon to any future bride and groom!

  If I could I would give a 10/5.0 in every category! My wedding photos are so beyond my expectations! I've never felt so comfortable and beautiful just being myself- my photos are unique, beautiful, artistic and natural. Joan and Jon are both so calm and patient, everything was very relaxing and enjoyable(I'm one of those people that usually doesn't enjoy getting my picture taken). Would recommend them to anyone that wants truly priceless one of a kind photos!

  I highly recommend BellowBlue to future couples looking for wedding photographers. I planned my Wisconsin wedding from another state and found them when conducting Internet searches for a wedding photographer. Based solely on their online portfolio my husband and I hired Joan and Jon to photograph our wedding and we are extremely glad that we did. They did an excellent job capturing our wedding with their unique artistic vision. We have many stunning photographs that are truly works of art that we will proudly display throughout our home. Joan and Jon are a husband and wife team and because of this they work seamlessly together and create a relaxing atmosphere. I was nervous on the day of the wedding, but both Joan and Jon put me at ease. They are creative individuals and we relied on their artistic vision, but they also asked for our input on multiple occasions and were extremely accommodating when we asked for a particular picture at the end of the evening. I appreciated how flexible and personable they were and their willingness to go the extra mile. For example,Joan helped out with the final preparations at the church and even tied my bridal sash. Joan and Jon excel at their craft, were a pleasure to work with, and were very reasonably priced. I will definitely be recommending them to family and friends.

  Bellow Blue photography is awesome at what they do, because it’s not a job to them- it their passion and they really love what they do. My husband and I got the pleasure in working with Joan and Jon on our wedding on 07.13.13 and would couldn’t be more pleased! They were with us 12+ hours and not once did they ever get in the way. They captured every special moment of our wedding and when we got the photos we got to relive the whole day/night. The photos brought tears to our eyes- as they didn’t leave anything out.   Words can't describe how much fun these two are! They truly work well together, being a husband and wife team, they know how to put the bride and groom together so it looks natural, but a great photo.
  
  They were with us for almost 12 hours and never were in the way or pushy, they went with the flow and captured great shots. They are truly artistic and both talented. We can't wait to get all the proofs back!

  Jon and Joan were recommended to my fiancé and me by not one but two co workers. I had seen the photos from both of their weddings and immediately fell in love with Jon and Joan's work.
  
  We recently had our e-session with the pair and couldn't be more thrilled with how the photos turned out. They captured our personalities in a gorgeous setting without being over the top. It did not take them long at all to make us feel as though we'd known them forever and ensure our pictures truly reflected who we are as a couple. Jon and Joan were very laid back during the session and made us feel comfortable in front of the camera--they posed us but also let us have input. They were a far cry from other photographers we've worked with in the past, encouraging us to change outfits and scenery. We never felt rushed at any point during the session.

  Bellow Blue is incredibly fun! They are professional, flexible and give you quality photos that you get to keep. They give you their full attention while photographing your special event and they don't miss a thing. It's nice having two of them there to photograph because you get all photos from two different angles. I would highly recommend Bellow Blue.
