When I started looking into photographers for my wedding, I took pages of notes on various photographers I found online. I was so taken with the website of one $4,200 photographer that I thought I HAD to have him. I was mid-way through booking him, though, when he informed me that another couple had given him a deposit for their wedding the same day as mine. Feeling jipped, I went back to my notes and eventually ended up calling Coreen, praying she would still be available (this was about ten months before my wedding date). She was, and I am now very embarrassed about the "eh" I initially marked in my notes after visiting Ball Photo and DJ's website (which has since been revamped and looks much more impressive). We used both the photo and DJ service, and we paid for the Platinum Photo and DJ package, which cost less than what many photographers alone charge.

I didn't have Internet access while I was in the process of booking Kirby and Coreen, but Coreen was both sympathetic and helpful. She printed off reviews from weddingwire, along with a sample contract, pose list, and reception planner, and even gave me the phone number of one of her brides if I wanted to talk to someone directly who had used Ball's services before. I was so very impressed, and already, before I had even booked Coreen or sent her any money, I felt like she cared, and I, in turn, felt taken care of :).

My fiance and I attended seperate colleges throughout our engagement, and Kirby and Coreen were so understanding of our time constraints. They never demanded that we come to meet with them--they always came to us. They came to EIU(about a two and a half hour drive for them), where I attended college and where the wedding was to be held, twice--once in late October to meet us, see the ceremony and reception sites, and do an engagement photo shoot (which I didn't even realize was included in our package!), and the second time about a month before the wedding to go over the itinerary for the wedding day.

In the days leading up to the wedding, I was getting so very nervous about missing something crucial at the reception--not knowing when I was supposed to get up and cut the cake, not realizing when it was time for a speech I was supposed to give, etc. Not only did Coreen e-mail me a fairly detailed schedule to pass along to my wedding party, she promised she would tell my fiance and me exactly when it was time to move to another dance or activity, and she came through. She even help us cut our cake when we realized we had no idea what we were doing :)

I was so surprised to walk into the chapel just before our rehearsal to find Kirby and Coreen there, checking their equipment. They stayed throughout the rehearsal, and even took some great shots that evening. That made me feel like they really wanted to understand what was going to be happening at the wedding, which put my mind at ease about them potentially missing an important shot (like our first kiss, which took place during the ceremony, not at the end of it).

We took a lot of posed photos with the wedding party and our family members in the chapel before the ceremony. There was a glitch with the air conditioning, and with my poofy dress and all it undergarments, I felt like I was going to faint at several points. Kirby, who set up his DJ equipment the day before the wedding and was able to help Coreen take photographs the morning of the wedding, fetched bottles of water for everyone out of their van, and Coreen made sure to let me take breaks and sit down until we got the air on. Also, some of our groomsmen were fairly rowdy, but Coreen was able to get them under control and keep everyone smiling.

At the reception, I had several older family members tell me how much they loved the music Kirby played. They said at a lot of weddings, after the meal, the music gets too "crazy" and is definitely only geared toward the younger crowd, but Kirby did a great job of keeping everybody happy. His lighting was a hit, too--my sister-in-law thought that I had had to especially request all of it, but Kirby just knew how to set the right mood, all on his own :).

We got our photos back just before my family's annual 4th of July gathering (I think Coreen got them to us a little earlier than she otherwise would have because she knew we'd want to show them off there), and relatives who were unable to make it to the wedding were especially grateful to be able to look through the album of about 200 prints that Coreen put together for us. She also sent a total of 1,037 photos on six CDs, which were great for uploading photos to Facebook (and sending links out to family and friends) and putting them on a flashdrive to print photo copies at Wal Mart. Coreen doesn't copyright her work, which was a huge draw for us. With family members all across the country, it makes it so easy to copy photos for everyone and make everyone feel they were involved in our day.

Overall, I am so pleased that we got to meet Kirby and Coreen and have them both as part of our wedding memories. They're a great couple to work with, and I highly recommend them both!

I was married in Lincoln, Illinois and planned everything from my home in Northern Virginia. I spoke with Coreen by email mostly, with a couple of phone calls. I actually first met Coreen and Kirby when I got to the church on my wedding day! They introduced themselves right away, and had already been taking pictures and getting set up. Right from the start, we really liked them, and both Coreen and Kirby were very easy to work with. Coreen stayed with us ladies, and Kirby stayed with the men. During the photo shoots, Coreen took the "actual" pictures, and Kirby snapped away in the background. That got us some very nice candid shots! They even let friends and family take all the pictures they wanted, as long as they stayed out of the shot.

The main thing we liked about Ball Photography was that they let you have all the pictures and CDs, and you can make as many copies as you want! That works great for us with family in 4 different States! We bought the "unlimited" package, and boy did they take a LOT of pictures!! Our faces hurt from smiling so much, but Coreen and Kirby still made it fun. Even the kids were having fun!

The only thing I wish was different was the angle on some of the pictures. There were about 3 steps up to the alter, and I was on the top step. So, I'm looking down in a lot of the pictures, which tends to make my neck look big. Trying to hold my head to avoid the glare on my glasses was part of it too. I think the only thing that could have helped that was if Coreen was on a ladder or step, but then she wouldn't have had the freedom to move around like she did. If I had to move around, that would have taken so much extra time to adjust my dress. Also, I noticed in the pictures my bouquet was at an odd angle, so it looked pretty thin and blocked my dress details at times in the group pictures. (I had beading and embroidery on the waist of my dress, and a presentation style bouquet, held in the arms.)

They sent the pictures to me by FedEx, with an email about shipping and tracking information. Also, I always had an email when payment was due, the amount, and when the check arrived. Coreen was always quick to respond to my emails too!

Overall, the pictures turned out beautifully, and I am VERY glad I used Ball Photography! We were going to use their DJ service, but had a cake and punch reception to save costs. I am very happy it went as well as it did, since I was worried about meeting them the day of the ceremony. I highly recommend Coreen and Kirby!!!

I could not have asked for a better photographer or DJ. We talked often in the months leading up to the wedding to ensure that everything was just the way I wanted it. They knew the entire wedding parties' names and faces by 1:00. They were with us throughout everything, and made my day run so much more smoothly. I highly recommend this company.

They were wonderful to work with. Everyone danced through out the night. They had a wonderfully huge selection of music and perfect suggestions. They were very helpful and professional.

Ball DJ service was wonderful. All my guests loved the music they played and the kids were having such a fun time. Coreen and Kirby are very nice people and were very easy to work with. I booked them about a year in advance from my wedding date to make sure I would have the 'right' DJ. They kept in contact with me throughout the year to make sure everything was still on schedule. (That was really helpful for me). When we finally met face to face, they were very professional and very helpful with everything. I would highly recommend them. :)

I think Coreen and Kirby were great. They had great attitudes and had fun with us. My only complaint were the pictures. They had great color, but most of them were taken in the sun and our faces looked shaded, or we were squinting, it didn't do much justice for any of us. It was a sunny day, but I wish more were taken in the shade, or even inside.

I can't believe how well the reception went. The set up was unobtrusive and attractive. They had all the songs I wanted for my wedding and reception and came across to my family as both professional and friendly, approachable. They played all requests after my selections were done, even from the children! That was a big hit from all the kids, that an adult listened to them and followed through on the song. The photography was excellent, her suggestions on poses and grouping were well thought. She kept everyone together and kept the smiles on faces, even when we were tired of smiling. She was very professional and well dressed and got along well with everyone she took pictures of. You barely knew she was there at the reception and she got some really good shots that I wasn't aware of. The proofs were presented in an eye pleasing way and I was given a disc with extra photos in case I wanted copies of the spontaneous shots. I recommend this DJ & Photography service to everyone I meet and know that is having a wedding or any special event. I will definitely use them again in the future, as a matter of fact they are doing my step-daughter's wedding in August and we couldn't be happier!
