About
Hi, I'm Josh. Thank you for considering me for your photography needs. My photography career began the summer of 1998 over Chinese food. A professional photographer friend suggested that I should consider turning my photography hobby into a career. So I tagged along with him on a couple of weddings, and then I went for it. Since then, my career has included 27+ years of portrait and event photography and 8 and 1/2 years of product photography. Photographing people is my preference. I really enjoy documenting life events and stages of life. In addition to photography, I'm pretty involved in a local running social club, and I'm a crazy cat dad. (Also an actual dad)
My style: I've been described by my clients as a ninja, a jedi, and a wizard. I prefer to work alone because when I bring less of a camera/photographer presence, everyone is less camera aware and they forget about the photographer which allows me to capture the most genuine of moments and interactions. For most of your wedding and reception, I'll blend in with the guests and the events of the day, but when it's portrait time I'll bring creativity, expert direction, and efficiency that allows us to capture beautiful and contemporary portraits in a relatively short amount of time.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with your questions. I look forward to hearing about your wedding plans!

Reviews of Josh Johnston Photography
Professional Network & Endorsements
Josh and the crew from Photo 98 are wonderful. They're total pros and are guaranteed to capture photos of things you never even knew happened at your wedding. One thing that is super important when working with a photographer is to make sure they're able to lead the troops when it's time to get photos taken and able to disappear into the background and snap photos of real life happening at your wedding. Josh is great at this!
