Amy was great, her prices were the lowest I found for the quality offered. In meeting with her and other florists she thought of details others hadn't and was extremely flexible. As I added various details and comparing pricing from other vendors she was the most reasonably priced. I would reccommend her to anyone.
My centerpieces were exacatly what I asked for and came out great, she also provided piping and draping for the ceremony area, pergola decorations and aisle decor.

Amy was so awesome. We were looking for a DOC for our 300 person wedding, and we found Amy who was having a DOC+Planning special, and she did flowers. So, mostly for the sake of convenience, we booked her for all three: a small planning package, the Day of Coordination, and the flowers, and I'm so happy we did. Everything turned out beautifully. Basically, all we had to do was show up. Amy wasn't overbearing or crazy. She was very professional, organized, and efficient, and a super nice/awesome person. Everything was perfect! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for this type of service.

We were very satisfied with Amy Nixon's services. From the number of hanging lanterns in our ceremony space to the seamless transitions during the reception, everything was wonderful. Our ceremony location presented significant parking dilemmas, but Amy helped us to resolve these issues using both her extensive experience and vendor connections. On our wedding day somehow 90 guests arrived to a site with only about 15 parking spaces. Because of the professionalism of Amy Nixon and her staff, my husband and I had a worry-free, amazing day.

We contacted her for assistance as a day-of-coordinator, but she provided much more than that. Through her professional contacts and business, we were able to obtain wedding invitations, chairs, and gifts for ushers/best man/matron of honor/reader at a substantial discount. But her services as a coordinator were the best value of all. She is incredibly resourceful and very knowledgeable. She helped save us money in numerous different areas. She was by far the best wedding investment we could have made.

I'm coming to Amy's defense regarding the last review left. We hired her for our wedding this year and she did a FABULOUS job! My bouquets were amazing, and her planning and organization kept everything running smoothly for my rehearsal and wedding day. I also assisted her with the preparations and designs for Erika's wedding. Up until the wedding day everything was great...and then they said they imagined everything bigger and grander and wanted money back, even though that's not what they ordered. Contracts, invoices, and photos can prove that. Amy even spent 4 hours moving 100 banquet tables and setting up 375 chairs for their event, because no one else did it and she didn't want to leave them stuck out on wedding day. She went above and beyond for this family, just as she does for all her clients. Amy has a heart of gold and is amazing at what she does! Spend 10 minutes with her and you'll realize that! I recommend her on regular basis and have never had anyone less than thrilled to work with her.

It was the best money I spent for the entire wedding. It was SUCH a relief to know that everything was or would be taken care or. I can't imagine what it would have been like to not have Amy at the wedding. It was such a comfort I actually slept WELL the night before our wedding.

I know the time and hard work you put into this and I don't think it would have happened without you. Amy was very pleasant to work with. I was 3-4 weeks from my wedding date and did not have anyone to do my decorations because the lady I was counting on had a death in the family and could not do my wedding. Amy was able to create a spring garden wedding theme for me in a short period of time and everything was perfect and just the way I wanted it right down to the details.

I booked Amy as my day-of coordinator a year before my wedding. After meeting with her I also decided to have her do my flowers, room decor, and chair covers.
I'm an out-of-state bride so I really relied on her and my mom to do a lot of the work for me. Amy was really responsive in her emails and always made time to meet with me when I would come into town. I had a lot of specific ideas that she said she could do so I trusted her and hired her to do them. Day-of coordination: Amy came to our rehearsal (a free add-in with the day-of cost) and mostly sat back and let our pastor run the show which I thought was fine. I'm sure if he didn't want to do it she would have taken control. I brought a lot of our supplies on Friday night (pew bows, programs, food for the waiting rooms, etc.) so she could put them where they needed to go that day and I wouldn't have to worry about them. When we got to the church they were putting the final touches on the pews and we went to go take some pictures. When we came back in we needed hairspray and eyelash glue to fix a couple problems. She had neither on her day-of kit. Now the eyelash glue is pretty specific so I'm not mad about that, but hairspray?? That should be the first thing in that box!!! When everyone was making their entrance for the ceremony my mom luckily saw her corsage and quickly put it on - Amy did not give it to her like she did for all the grandparents and groomsmen. The bridal party had all made their way in and the aisle runner was brought out and she said "Ok it's your turn" and I told her the sanctuary doors needed closed first, so she closed them. Then my dad and I hustled over the doorway while her assistant fixed my train. She didn't have someone else to open the other door, so when she started opening hers the other one was still shut so I had to yell at the photographer standing there to open the other door. That entrance really made me upset, it should have been perfect and it wasn't. She also never put out our programs, they were sitting on a bench in the plastic bag I gave them to her in. Luckily my aunt saw them and passed them out to everyone sitting down. The groomsmen were put in the wrong waiting room at the church which was dirty and messy so they didn't get the food that we brought for them either because it was in the correct room. At the reception she said that once everyone arrived she would remove the card box from the room (so it wouldn't get stolen) but it was still sitting on the table when I left. Now for the flowers: I got all my centerpieces and bouquets from Amy. I was disappointed with the bouquets because some flowers were sticking out higher then others and it just looked really weird. The centerpieces turned out pretty good though and I was happy with them. We also ordered 2 pomander flower balls for our flower girls who are 2. We got to the church and they were HUGE and HEAVY. We could hardly life them ourselves and the flower girls definitely couldn't carry them. They looked NOTHING like the picture she sent to me when I was debating on getting them and they were more in the shape of a brick then a ball. The girls couldn't carry them and instead carried a stem of hygrandeas with a ribbon on them. I was very disappointed with that. Reception hall decoration: we hired Amy to decorate behind the head table and the ceiling. The ceiling turned out really good and looked very nice. Behind the head table cost $300 and was literally a white sheet with 2 bunches of hydrangeas hanging from the top. The backdrop I discussed with her had lighting behind it and was much more elaborate then that. When we hired her to rent and do our chair covers we told her that our hall had oversized chairs so we needed larger chair covers. She assured us that she had done that before and it was no problem. Well when we went in we saw that she got regular sized chair covers and had stuffed them on these larger chairs so they didn't fit correctly and they looked so bad. They didn't even hit the floor. I was really angry about that since we specifically told her they had to be larger then usual. I think Amy knows a lot about wedding planning but she overlooked some really big details that she should have handled. I don't think anything I brought up was too crazy or unique. I expected a lot out of her and her team and she really made me feel like she had it all under control at our meetings and through email. Overall I spent over $3000 with her for her coordination, flowers, decorating and rentals and I really feel like I was ripped off. I would not recommend her and hope that she can improve on her services in the future.

I hired Amy Nixon Events for my wedding this past weekend. We hired her thinking that it would be less stressful, but it was just the opposite. First of all, she had said that she would come the day before to decorate so that I could see everything before our rehersal dinner. She showed up 2 1/2 hours late and said she wouldn't be doing the decorating until the following morning. When I arrived the following morning (the day of the wedding) she was once again 2 hours late. I never did get to see the hall decorated before arriving to the reception. What she did for decorating was not even worth the money we paid her--I'm sure that I could have decorated the hall and it would have looked ten times better and saved me a lot of money. The centerpieces were supposed to be very large with glass globes containing tea lights hanging from the branches. Instead we got some twigs stuck in a vase with tea lights hot-glued to the branches. I was unable to even enjoy these centerpieces because they were melting off by the time I arrived to the reception. All of the candles had to be blown out so that they didn't catch the linens on fire. Additonally, we never saw the easel for our picture frame (an item included in the package), paper laterns that were supposed to be battery operated, a nine-panel trellis behind the head table, a moss table runner, and 4 eight foot tall trees. When mentioning to Amy about some adjustments on the price (since we had already paid her for everything beforehand), she said nothing. Lastly we had requested seating for 450 people and were 100 seats shy of that number. I would never recommend her to anyone. She was unprofessional, inconsiderate, and made my wedding day much more stressful than it should have been. The pictures on her website are beautiful, but are very deceiving. Once again, do not go with Amy Nixon Events--it is a total joke.

This was a simple case of a bride who wanted a champagne wedding on a beer budget. That's the best way I can describe it. She didn't hire us to plan or coordinate her wedding, she simply rented decor and linens....so we weren't responsible for how many chairs were set up, we weren't contracted or booked to set up the day before, and we didn't have a contracted "time" to arrive so we weren't ever "late". She did not order large centerpieces, their invoice clearly states that, yet she was upset that they weren't big enough for her. With a bigger budget, we could have done bigger and grander centerpieces. The 9 panel trellis was forced to be cut down to a 5 panel trellis because of a doorway behind the head table that couldn't be closed, which she ok'd during our walk through. The scrolled easel was there, but the picture they provided was too small for them to use it even though they were instructed 11x14 or larger. The paper lanterns were there and hanging (we have photos), and they were torn down by their guests and destroyed. They also damaged and destroyed the lighting they rented from us. They did ask for a refund, which I did NOT give, because with all the damaged decor they actually owed us for replacements after the event (which they haven't paid to this day). The photos on my website are not deceiving, they are my actual work. Hers is the first and ONLY wedding we've ever done that has not been posted on my website or blog.
