On New Year’s Day 2025, our family huddled up on the comfy family room couch and spent the entire day watching YouTube videos of wedding bands and college football bowl games! It was a productive day. Our teams were victorious and more important, after viewing hundreds of bands, we all agreed that Spectrum (Washington Talent Agency) was exactly what we were hoping for! (For context, I’m the mother of the bride.) A few weeks later we attended a Spectrum showcase. Even in a studio setting on a snowy Thursday night, Spectrum blew us away with their sheer talent and engaging personalities. We signed a contract immediately.

I can’t say enough about how enjoyable it was to work with the Washington Talent Agency (WTA) Representative, Jake Sherman, and the Spectrum Bandleader, Ben Kaufman, in the lead-up to the wedding. Jake and Ben are both consummate professionals who quickly became friends. They went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was seamless and perfect.

Our wedding venue was the DAR Memorial Continental Hall in DC. Cocktails in the Library, dinner in the O’Byrne Gallery, and dancing on the gorgeous historic outdoor Portico with a full view of national monuments. Spectrum provided all the music from 5pm until 11pm.

From the moment our daughter and her husband’s wedding began, Spectrum exceeded every expectation. The 9-piece band included keyboard, guitar, bass, drums, trumpet, saxophone, trombone, two male vocalists, and one female vocalist. The remarkable horn section created a full powerful sound and a contagious energy that filled the Portico all night long. The vocalists were beyond outstanding, not only incredibly talented, but also super engaging, charismatic, and full of personality. The Spectrum musicians didn’t just ‘perform’ – they all knew exactly how to connect with our guests and keep the celebration going. The dance floor (Portico) was packed from beginning to end, which was exactly what we had hoped for.

Spectrum’s extensive knowledge of traditional Jewish wedding music and customs made the Hora and other special moments feel authentic and unforgettable! Spectrum truly honored those traditions while seamlessly blending them with an extraordinary mix of music that kept guests of every age dancing. Watching our daughter and her husband surrounded by so much celebration and happiness is a memory I’ll cherish forever, and the Spectrum musicians played a substantial role in creating that magic!

We were especially grateful for WTA and Spectrum’s professionalism, flexibility, and very accommodating nature during the week before the wedding. The weather was damp and unpredictable. They worked closely with our wedding planner (Lisa Havard) and graciously adapted to setting up outside on the Portico without issue. Spectrum’s positive attitude and willingness to accommodate last-minute changes meant everything to us and helped make an already emotional day completely stress-free.

Choosing Spectrum as our band was one of the very best decisions we made for the wedding. They are exceptionally talented, professional, super high-energy, and genuinely passionate about creating an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend Spectrum (and WTA) without hesitation!

Ben and the entire team were absolutely incredible. From start to finish, they created an epic soundtrack to the party of our lives. Every part of the evening was incredible: from the amazing music and atmosphere during dinner to keeping everyone on the dance floor all night long. We heard nothing but amazing feedback from our guests. Everyone had the best time and could not stop talking about how great the band was.

We especially appreciated that they took the time to learn and perform a few specific songs for us, and they absolutely nailed them. Their talent, energy, and professionalism made the night unforgettable.

The Wave was absolutely incredible and truly made our wedding unforgettable. From the very beginning, they brought such amazing energy and kept everyone out on the dance floor all night. They knew exactly how to read the room, played the perfect songs at the perfect moments, and created such a fun, interactive atmosphere.

So many of our guests came up to us during and after the wedding raving about how amazing the band was. They didn’t just perform, they threw a party. They were engaging, high-energy, talented, and so attentive throughout the entire process. We truly could not have asked for anything better and are so grateful they helped make our wedding such an incredible celebration!

We had the most incredible time with Round Midnight at our wedding. The evening felt like a private concert and the dance floor was on FIRE the entire evening. The band did such a great job curating the set list to maintain energy and momentum throughout the night and the performance was off the charts. Our friends and family continuously commented on how amazing the band was - the biggest possible thanks to Round Midnight for bringing to life the best night of our lives!

If you're looking for a band that will keep all your guests on the dance floor the entire night, look no further than District Groove. We had such an awesome night with all of the band members. They were engaging, talented, and extremely fun! Highly recommend adding the horns. Their saxophone player was fantastic!!

We loved working with WTA and District Groove for our wedding. On the WTA side, Jack was responsive and helpful in getting us set up with our selected band and in the days leading up to the wedding. For District Groove, Tyler was a pleasure to work with. He was happy to take plenty of time with us to curate the experience in detail beforehand. On the day of, District Groove provided some incredible entertainment that made for an unforgettable time on the dance floor. Would strongly recommend WTA and District Groove to anybody!

We had the absolute best experience working with Washington Talent and The Onyx Band for our wedding. The band was truly amazing and brought so much energy, talent, and excitement to the night. So many of our guests have asked for their name because they are now planning weddings of their own, which says everything!

The Onyx Band was one of the best wedding bands we have ever heard. They were incredibly professional, easy to work with, and kept the dance floor going all night. We also booked strings for our ceremony through Washington Talent, and everything was beautiful and seamless.

We worked with David Cohen to plan the songs and logistics, and he was fantastic. He made the process easy, organized, and stress-free from start to finish.
