About
I’m Pastor Mark, "The Weddin’ Guy."
I am a full-time Professional
Interfaith Wedding Minister, Officiant, and Celebrant.

I proudly serve NE PA, NW OH and Northern WV.
I am licensed by the State in Ohio and West Virginia.

Interfaith means I can serve couples with or without the same
Religious backgrounds, and create a ceremony that honors
your Spiritual paths.

I am a member of the American Association of Wedding Officiants.
Through the AAWO, I am connected to roughly 500 other professional
Ministers, Officiants and Celebrants, who have collectively performed
many thousands of Weddings.

That means I have or can get an authoritative answer to
almost any Wedding related question you might have.

I have married Jehovah’s Witnesses as a Civil Officiant.

I have performed traditional Irish, Scottish, and Viking Weddings.

I have married Catholics to Protestants, and a Mennonite to a Buddhist.

I perform Pagan Handfastings, alone or as part of a Legal Wedding Ceremony.

I have officiated Weddings in large Churches, small Churches, tiny Chapels,
Country Clubs, Trailer Parks, Campgrounds, Stone Quarry’s, Back Yards,
Front Porches, Living Rooms, Museums, Historical Landmarks, Haunted Prisons,
Riverboats, Garages, State Correctional Facilities, Amusement Parks,
Fish and Game Clubs, and once at the Mall...

I married six couples at once last Valentine’s Day, on TV,  Center Ice,
during halftime at a professional Hockey game.

I am definately a "Make a Joyful Noise" kind of Minister,
and I truly enjoy  ’Theme Weddings.’
See photo below.

If you want a non-judgemental Officiant with a sense of humor, look no further.

Frequently Asked Questions for Officiant
What officiant services do you provide?
Civil Union, Interfaith Ceremony, Non-religious Ceremony, Single Religion Ceremony

What religious affiliations do you serve?
Agnostic, Baha'i Faith, Buddhist, Christian (no denomination), Christian - Anglican, Christian - Baptist, Christian - Catholic, Christian - Episcopalian, Christian - Lutheran, Christian - Methodist, Christian - Mormon, Christian - Orthodox, Christian - Presbyterian, Christian - Quaker, Evangelical, Hindu, Islam, Jainism, Jewish, Muslim, Shinto, Sikhism, Taoist

Can you accommodate the hearing impaired?
No

Are you willing to perform a ceremony at a non-religious site?
Absolutely. To me, Church does not mean brick and mortar. Any place can be Sacred Space.

Are you flexible in the wording used throughout the ceremony, including the vows?
Yes, though I dislike wording that demeans people. Also, I will not ask if anyone objects, as that is antiquated. I have a page on my website devoted to readings I find to be in bad taste regarding Weddings.

Do you allow the couple to write their own vows, if desired?
Of course.

Do you have a list of readings pre-selected, from which the couple must choose?
Yes and No. I do provide a selection of samples, and I pick them according to what I have learned about the couple, though anything else they want can be incorporated into their Ceremony. The final choice of content is theirs. I then edit for order and flow. The couple has final approval on their ceremony

Do you require that premarital counseling be done?
No.

Are you willing to perform pre-ceremony rehearsals?
Yes, but only if the Wedding Party is large or the Ceremony is complicated. I prefer to avoid adding any extra costs for the couple, and in most cases, no rehearsal is needed.

Additional Questions and Answers

Can we get Married?
Thousands of couples wanting to get married are
being turned away by traditional Churches.
Most frown on marrying outside of their faith,
or make one of you convert to their beleifs.
Some do not allow second Marriages.

YES!  You can get Married.
I am not bound by those rules.
I chose to be Ordained by the
Universal Life Church.

This is why: They have only one rule-
"Do only that which is right."

I AM bound by law.
You must still have a valid Marriage License
on the day of your ceremony to be legaly married.

Do we have to believe in your Religion
to get married by you?

No. As an Interfaith Minister, I put my personal
beleifs aside to honor your Spiritual paths.
Deist, Theist or Atheist,
everyone is welcome and respected.

Aren’t all Weddings basically the same?

No. While every Wedding is similar in structure,
the names are changed to protect the innocent.

Seriously, Civil Ceremonies are a set of legal
agreements made out loud and the wording
is predetermined by law.
These and quick elopements are
pretty much the same.

I can, on request, perform Ancient and
Traditional Ceremonies nearly verbatum.

Even so, I seldom perform the same exact
Ceremony twice.

The majority of couples who book with me are having
more formal Church style Weddings, and accent their
ceremonies with a variety of options.

Even traditional ceremonies can be enhanced
with a personal touch.

You can add a Unity Candle, Sand Ceremony, Rose
Ceremoniy, Poetry, Scripture, a quote from the
Dali Lama, a Native American Blessing, even a joke or two.

I can include your children or add elements to honor
your parents, or even your ancestors.

I will work with you to create a unique custom ceremony
for your special day.

Tips and Advice
One jewel of advice I can pass along will
help prevent a potential disaster
at your reception.

When you first arrive inside the hall, look up.
Take a good look at the ceiling.

Many brides have turned ceiling fans
into salad shooters by accidentaly
throwing a boquet into them.

Also, low hanging lights can catch a garter.

Ask the manager to turn off the fan
before the tosses begin, or move to a
less accident friendly space.
