About Us

It could be said that The Kansas City Club came about with a puff of smoke-cigar smoke that is. The Club was formed in 1882 by a group of prominent Kansas City business men who needed a place to smoke cigars outside of their home. They first met at the Coates House Hotel. In the 125 years since the Club's inception they have had 3+ Clubhouses, peaked at 2500 members, and been host to such prestigious members as Harry S. Truman and General Dwight D. Eisenhower. Today the Club resides at 918 Baltimore Avenue, less than 1 mile from it's original location and is the home away from home for many of it's members.
