Are you a commercial studio or a home-based business?
We are a home-based studio. We are a husband and wife team who do all our editing from our home.
What types, such as unedited footage or special effects, of videography do you offer?
We always shoot with two cameras. We always edit and retouch the footage. We will use "special effects" sparingly, only to improve the quality of the visual and sound and we don't get out of hand or "cheesy".
Describe any special editing services you offer:
If a couple is going for a "cinematic" feel, the editing would look more movie-like. If they are going for a "documentary or journalistic" feel, we would edit in that way.
Do you have lighting equipment to accommodate a more dimly-lit event?
Yes, we have camera lights.
How many videographers do you work with?
Right now it is just Jared and Danielle, us.
Does the client get to meet the videographers before the event?
We recommend this 100%! We want to meet the couple before the wedding in order to get an idea of their personalities. We also talk about what their style is and what kind of video they're looking for. We especially recommend this so that they can see our work on a bigger screen than the computer.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes, it is always the two of us who film AND edit all the footage.
Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
No, we would never book 2 weddings for one day. The quality of work would decrease significantly if we were tired and overwhelmed. We have not yet booked two for one weekend but we would have to consider that on a case by case basis.
Do you have a replacement videographer in case you become unavailable on the event day?
We have people who could "second" shoot in case one of us had an emergency.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We bring our HD cameras, tri-pods, camera lights, and professional wireless audio equipment along with back-up batteries and accessories.
Do you bring backup equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes, see above question.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Only the break to eat and an occasional bathroom break.
Do you charge overtime?
Yes and no. For our most popular package, we say we shoot 8 hours. If your party goes over by half an hour or so, we won't charge, but if your party goes much longer, we either won't stay or we will have to charge a bit more.
Do you give access to your raw footage?
No. We do not do this because what you are paying for is a finished product. Rarely does a photographer give un-edited photos
Do you reserve the right to use the video in the future for promotions, contents, etc.?
Yes we do. We mostly use footage or still frames from footage for promotions or ads. We would consider not using footage if someone had an important reason why we couldn't.
Is the client involved in the editing process? If so, how much input does the client have in editing?
If the bride or groom is particular about the editing, we definitely let them have input. Most of the input we get is at the first meeting, talking about special instructions, things to avoid, things definitely wanted etc. We also ask that they provide their own music. We never choose music and in that way, they are not only enjoying the sounds they already love, but dictating the way it will be edited. If a couple wants to participate in editing after, it will take much longer for their video to be completed because we have to wait until they are home from their honeymoon etc.
How long does it take for the client to get the final video?
We guarantee your wedding video back in less than a month's time (as long as we have all the information we need from the bride/groom). Usually though, we have it ready in 2-3 weeks.
