Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
There are so many that we offer: sepia tone, inkjet transfer, cross processing, pinhole photography, black and white conversion, colored toning, toy camera photography, antique photography, coffee developer, film acceleration, red scale film, and many more.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
We have experience with all types of light from direct sun to very dimmed tungsten lamps.

Is your media preference film or digital?
We prefer film (hands down - it's what we started out in), but we also use a lot of digital photography. Due to our extensive film background, we are able to make digital look the way it should: like film.

How many photographers do you work with?
We have two staff photographers, but we can add a third shooter at the customer's request.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Absolutely, we are our entire company.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
In a day, no. In a weekend, it completely depends on how much coverage each couple wants and if we feel we could do both.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
We can recommend a few choices to you in the event of a disaster (but that has never happened before).

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We each carry a professional grade digital camera along with a variety of lenses. We also bring several specialty film cameras to use throughout the day and plenty of film.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes, we have a very nice medium format film back up camera that we bring just in case. (It used to be one of our primary cameras before we converted to digital).

Do you charge hourly or full day?
Both. We have several packages that can suit your various time needs, but we also do hire hourly.

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
Yes, we are always available for extra hours on top of the previously agreed time. Payment must be made up front (at the end of the regularly scheduled time) and we charge $125 per hour extra to cover not only the our time, but also the many hours that will be added due to the extra photos being taken in that time.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Usually all we need is the time it takes to get from the ceremony to the reception if it is an all day event. If we are only there for a few hours, no break is required.

Do you charge for travel?
Yes there is a charge to cover our travel expenses if the event falls outside our normal Central Florida/Space Coast area. Please inquire as to travel charges depending upon your event location.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
On average the proofs are available for viewing between 2 and 3 weeks after your event.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?
We offer online proofing and purchasing through our restricted site.

How long can the client keep the proofs?
The proofs will be up on the restricted site for 270 days.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes, we always retain copyright for our work.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
We do include that in our contract, but we never do so without additional notification to the couple.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
We do provide digital negatives if they are included in a package or purchased extra. We offer various increments of files so you can choose your favorites and not every photo from the whole day if you prefer.

Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes, we have an online flash gallery on the wedding section of our website where your photos will be displayed.

What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer all kinds of albums, from nice albums designed to slide 4x6 size photos in up to leather bound flush mount albums. We have several options in between. Please inquire or see our website for specific sizes and prices.

When will the client get the final album?
Depending on your book of choice, please allow 2 weeks for any album with 4x6 prints,2-3 weeks for any bound book style albums, or 4-6 weeks for any flush mount albums.

Tips and Advice
Each wedding we shoot is a learning experience in some way. Here are some of the lessons we've watched other brides learn in hopes to help you from learning them the hard way too :)

Piece of Advice Number 1: Don't rely on your family members to take your wedding photos. With the rise in the digital age, everyone has gotten used to saying, "Oh, I can take some photos on the day for you," but that person is there to enjoy the event, not make sure you get all the wedding shots you want; therefore you will end up with a bunch of pictures that you can't really use. I know it doesn't mean much coming from a person who makes money off you choosing to use a photographer, but just ask around. There is a reason more people are having formal pictures done for their first anniversary now.

Piece of Advice Number 2: Make sure you designate a time, at least 1 hour, on the day to have just the two of you and the photographer. No mom telling you to turn your head a certain way or running in to check your hair, and no other people distracting you. Just the two of you being yourselves with a photographer to capture each moment. You will absolutely not regret this.

Piece of Advice Number 3: Be sure to explain to family members (or designate a person to tell them for you) that they need to wait to take pictures until after the photographer has gotten their shot. If no one tells them this, then while you and other family members are posing for a picture, you will have 5 different people trying to get your attention, and the last thing you want is for no one to be looking at the camera in the photos that you are paying for. Just tell them the photographer goes first, then they can have their turn.
