About
Jennifer Russell is a soprano vocalist who has been singing for wedding ceremonies in Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania for over 20 years. Jennifer has a wide range and a broad repertoire, which includes sacred, traditional, contemporary, popular and classical songs. She can recommend appropriate music within her repertoire or learn any new selections you choose. Jennifer can perform with or without accompaniment at places of worship and other ceremony sites, including hotels, banquet facilities, private clubs, private homes and outdoors.

Jennifer started Ovation Special Events to offer not only her services as a vocalist, but also her services of planning the music and coordinating musicians for wedding ceremonies and receptions. As a music planner and coordinator, she can recommend other musicians you would like to perform for your ceremony and/or reception.

Please visit our website, which includes a "Listen" section containing links to several songs Jennifer has performed, a sample of some of the songs within Jennifer's repertoire, and a list of reviews from some prior weddings and other events. Feel free to call or e-mail with any questions or to check availability for your wedding date. We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you!

Divine inspiration comes in many forms and walking down the aisle to Jennifer's beautiful voice is absolutely a divine. Ovations Special Events provides that added level of sacredness and magic to a ceremony. How splendid it is to have the doors open and be greeted by a beautiful aria that holds meaning to you as you walk to meet your beloved.
Interested in an outstanding vocalist? Jennifer is your singer. See our full endorsement under the Paul Meyer Photography banner.
After meeting Jennifer at The Knot's 2007 Vendor Appreciation event, we knew she was special. She is one of those special people who you just like immediately upon meeting them. Just this past fall, we heard her raise the rafters at Epiphany RC Church downtown with a rendition of Ave Maria that had tears in the eyes of the ceremony attendants. Whether a capella or with musical accompaniment, her voice is just beautiful!
I've done many weddings where vocalists have been included as a part of the ceremony, but never have I been nearly brought to tears during a ceremony until I heard Jennifer sing. The beauty of her voice is matched only by the beauty of her spirit.

What instruments does your group play?

I wear something that is appropriate for the venue in which I am singing (church, outdoors, etc.). I also like to try to coordinate what I wear with the color(s) your bridal party is wearing or the overall color theme of your wedding.

Do you offer live sample performances or CDs?
I have live clips that you can listen to on my website. You may listen right from my home page.

How much time do you usually need for setup?
I normally arrive at least 30 minutes early in order to warm up, but otherwise do not personally require any setup time. Other musicians that I refer for your wedding may require time for setup.

How much space do you usually require?
Not much - just enough for me to stand. If other musicians are performing, they may need a little additional space for chairs, music stands, etc.

Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
I only charge for travel if your wedding requires me to travel more than an hour round trip and the amount depends upon how far I need to travel. Musicians I refer may charge for travel time.

Additional Questions and Answers
I don’t know much about music or what I would like to have performed at my wedding.  Will you help me choose?

Since I have been singing for over 20 years for wedding ceremonies, I have developed lists of suggested songs that I will provide you with to help you in planning the music for your ceremony.   I also have an extensive repertoire and am willing to learn new selections you would like.
