Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
Minor digital retouching is standard with all our portrait sessions and we offer sepia toning, classic black and white portraiture. We also provide watercolor-look art portraiture for a commissioned fee.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
We offer studio sessions with typical studio sessions, on-location with the use of natural light and fill lighting if necessary.
Is your media preference film or digital?
We are entirely digital using top of the line Nikon cameras and lenses.
How many photographers do you work with?
I will generally have another photographer as an assistant for all weddings.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
No. Weddings are important events and each one has a life of its own. I would prefer to be able to give my clients my full attention during their wedding.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I have the resources to find a local photographer whom I would trust within the realm of our local Photographer's Guild.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We always have 3 cameras and lenses to go with them. We often carry external lights for directional lighting when necessary. This equipment is easy to set up and makes for beautiful portraits. We also carry tripods, extra batteries, stepladder and an emergency kit for our brides.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Our fees are determined in advance by the package that our brides purchase. We tend to be lenient by one or two hours.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
We appreciate about two breaks-one shortly after the wedding party and guests are eating and one a little later in the night if the wedding goes long.
Do you charge for travel?
We have a $75.00 travel fee for distances more than 30 miles from our hometown.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
We tell our clients that their proofs will be ready for online viewing within three weeks of their wedding day, but we try to have them online within two weeks.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
The first viewing is on the internet, the second viewing is with an agreed upon 4x6 proofs.
How long can the client keep the proofs?
The 4x6 proofs are theirs to keep.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes, but I do offer the ability to purchase the copyright free files for an agreed upon price.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
For a fee.
Will images be available for viewing online?
Each wedding package has a designated amount of time that the image are available for viewing-generally about 4 months.
What kind of albums do you offer?
Storybook or coffee table style albums
When will the client get the final album?
Depending on the wedding package and the amount of time the bride wants to take in selecting her images for the album. I prefer to design the albums myself but I have brides that are very savvy about what they want and then it's a collaborative effort-but albums are typically delivered within 3-4 months after wedding.
