Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
We are hoping for a couple to let us shoot the entire wedding in black & white! (-: One of these days! Generally, however, we create a very proportionate mix of color and black & white photography. As simple as our editing technique seems, we spend two hours digitally enhancing images, for every single hour of shooting.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
Part of being a professional photographer means having the skills and the equipment to successfully photograph under any lighting condition. We can honestly say we are experts in anywhere from low-light, candlelight situations all the way to the brightest of days in the full summer sun!
Is your media preference film or digital?
We are fully digital!
How many photographers do you work with?
It is always two of us shooting at any event!
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Of course! We wouldn't be still in business if we had failed to show up at any time! (-:
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
Definitely not two weddings in one day. Each event takes a toll on our bodies and minds. We do not want to be rushed from one event to the other! Weekends are different. One wedding per day is absolutely welcome.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
We have a network of photographers in the area. Never have we needed to be replaced, however, in the off chance that one of us is ill, we are fully covered!
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Technically, we own top of the like Nikon equipment. All professional and functional. 6 lenses, flashes, cameras, memory cards, cables, batteries... everything needed and more.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes!
Do you charge hourly or full day?
We have a base price for a base amount of hours. Any extra hour on top of that is an hourly charge. Our web site has all the details!
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
Most weddings are organized enough for us to know exactly how many hours are needed for photography. In case an extra hour or two is needed the day of, we will most certainly stay for the hourly charge of $175 (that's for two photographers, of course).
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
We never take breaks except to eat. Even then, we can eat separately, always allowing for at least one of us to be on the floor shooting away!
Do you charge for travel?
We do charge for travel if the event's location is an hour or more away from our home base. It all depends on the specific location and whether the location is far enough away to require an overnight stay. Its on a case-by-case basis and we welcome anything! The furthest we have traveled in this past year for a wedding was Missoula, Montana! Fun!
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
During our high wedding season, we guarantee our photos to be available to the couple within 4 weeks. In the off season, 2 weeks max. Remember that we shoot 2 to 3 weddings per weekend and we do not outsource post production... we shoot and edit ourselves!
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
"Proofs" are uploaded onto our online wedding gallery/professional lab. Initially, everything is in thumbnail form which enlarge to 4x6 sized images when the thumbnail is clicked (this is for the online gallery). We also burn the web sized 4x6s to CD for the couple to have and keep for life.
How long can the client keep the proofs?
Proofs belong to the client. Forever.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes. We are the artists. We retain the rights to our images indefinitely. We do offer shared rights on a case-by-case basis. All you need to do is ask!
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
When we give out the CD with the web sized images, we expect our clients to publish the images onto their own web sites and/or to email them to friends and family. This is absolutely welcome! We love for as many people as possible to view our art! Each image on the CD is labeled with our logo. Its only fair (-:
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes! The DVD of high resolution images is one of the options you can choose! Again, details are on our web site! With the DVD, you can print your own prints indefinitely!
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes! Images from every event we photograph are online for 6 months to 1 year. Its a great way to share images with far away friends and family!
What kind of albums do you offer?
Lots! Anywhere from little 5x5 inch books to full size 12x12 flush mount albums. Options are subjective and we're very flexible (-:
When will the client get the final album?
The album companies we work with have set processing times. Each company has different ones so this question is also on a case-by-case basis (-: Generally, the largest and most complicated of the books could take 6 to 8 weeks to produce, while the smallest most simple ones can take a week.
