Take it from my own personal experience working with brides….
Tip#1: First, I highly recommend that you schedule a trial run with your makeup/hair artist. When considering a professional makeup/hair artist for your wedding, this is the most important thing to do. This is your time to meet, to get to know each other and hopefully, to click. After that, everything else will fall to place. You and your artist can begin to search for the perfect look for you! This is the key for a successful and memorable experience, for both the bride and the artist.
Tip #2: Collect pictures from magazines and from the internet that you think fit with your desired look. You’ll want to show your ideas clearly to make sure that you and your makeup/hair artist are starting off on the same page. Remember that a picture is certainly worth a thousand words. And this will help to avoid any misunderstanding. When you are experimenting at your trial, your artist may make some suggestions and you may change direction but, you’ll do this together.
Tip #3: When you go to your trial, be sure to wear a top with a similar color tone to your wedding dress.
Tip #4: Make sure you have pictures taken at your trial.
Tip #5: Don’t ever schedule your makeup/hair trial when you have something else to do afterward. You want to be relaxed. Ask your artist how long she or he estimates you will need and make sure to allow for that. The only exception to this would be if possible, to schedule your engagement pictures for after the trial. This is a great way to save money. And since you will be photographed by your professional wedding photographer, you’ll have the best chance to appreciate your look in the photos!
Note: Make sure your hair/makeup artist rearranges the look and adjusts it for your engagement portraits.
Tip #6: Show your photos to friends and family for feedback…
