Best Experience with Maira Ortiz

Maira can do it all. Not only did her hair and makeup exceed expectations, she really brings everything to the next level. She was on time, professional, friendly, and all around AMAZING. I honestly can't think of another hairstylist and makeup artist with a better personality and work ethic. She is everything you need for a special day.

Wonderful experience, beautiful makeup!

Maira did a wonderful job with the makeup for my wedding! She did the makeup for me (the bride), my mother, and my two maids of honor. Many tears of joy were shed, and the makeup lasted through it all :)

Maira is amazing!

I can’t say enough good things about Maira and her assistant, Devon. Through my engagement photo session, hair/makeup trial, and the day of my wedding, she made me incredibly comfortable, made me feel special, and listened to everything I said. She was excited to work with me on my full looks (paying attention to my outfits and helping to coordinate my hair) and took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and how we could best accomplish it. She worked with each woman on the day of the wedding to make her comfortable (from kids under 10 to the mothers of the bride) and everyone was incredibly happy with her speed and accuracy. We all looked great in person and in photos!

On top of all this, she is a genuinely sweet and interesting person to chat with, and is above all a professional who is punctual and communicative. I had a lot of last minute changes--where we were getting ready, how many ladies were getting ready, etc, and she went with the flow at every step.

Maira made my hair look beautiful! So easy to work with!

I highly recommend Maira for your wedding beauty needs. Maira did my hair (Bride) and MOH, mothers, sisters and friends. She was super easy to work with and during the trial made adjustments to the style I wanted to my updo. On the actually day, she was quick, calm and kept everything running smoothly. She even had time to squeeze in an extra girl at the end which just underscores that she is there to make the day about you, and really tries to make everyone happy. I was super happy with my hair, and it looked really polished the entire night. The updo held from the way she set it and pinned it, but didn't look rigid or stiff from too much hair spray. I still felt like myself. She's also good for any mix of bridal parties as easily transitioned between looks for mothers, and blowouts for friends. You will be super happy you booked Maira!

Great experience!

Amazing!! Highly reccomend!

Maira is amazing. She seriously worked with me so much to make sure my vision came to life. We had the first trial and I was super honest with her about what I felt needed to be changed and during the second trial ended up completely changing my whole hairstyle and she made everything look so beautiful and better than I had imagined. The day of, her whole team was super efficient and got everyone finished so quickly and they all looked beautiful. Just tell her what you want, make edits, and she will make it happen!!

Working with Maira was such a wonderful experience. She was very professional and a lot of fun to be around. She was very accommodating and willing to work around your schedule. If you give her wiggle room to add her touch and ideas to your hair & makeup style, I promise you will be amazed and walk away with a style better than what you expected. The best part is that she is has on location service. Coming from LA and barely knowing how to move around NYC, it was one less thing for me to worry about. I guarantee she will deliver pure quality. I received lots of compliments for my hairdo and makeup. Lastly she is very friendly and makes the whole process very fun. Maira was my Wonder Woman for my wedding. For my destination wedding I had not found a makeup artist that made me excited and happy about the look I was going for. I was connected with Maira late in my planning phase. Maira looked at pictures and listened to what I was trying to describe as the look I was going for and she made herself available to do my makeup for the entire weekend event. She saved the day for me. She is amazing.

Maira did a great job making my bridesmaids look amazing. She and hair teammate Esther did hair and makeup for 4 bridesmaids plus the mother of the bride. Correspondence beforehand was clear. They arrived a few minutes early, and finished everyone on time. Everyone had a pretty, amplified natural look with gorgeous false lashes that photographed beautifully and lasted a very long day. (Still waiting on my professional photos to post with this review!)

I had a great experience with Maira for my wedding. First she came to my home for a hair and makeup trial. After doing my makeup and adjusted it till I was really happy with it we tried two different hairstyles; one up and one down. After each hairstyle, Maira took professional grade photos of me so I could take my time deciding which look I preferred and we could used the photos as a reference for my wedding day. My wedding was small and I was the only one getting hair and makeup done and she was accommodating of that. I’m sure she would also have been able to handle a much larger wedding with an assistant as she is very organized. I highly recommend her!

I wanted to gift hair and makeup to my future mother-in-law the morning of my wedding but had a hard time finding someone who would travel to Queens (many companies only worked within Manhattan or Brooklyn). I found Maira Ortiz on Wedding Wire and was so thrilled that she was available to travel to my mother-in-law's house and do her hair and makeup. She answered me immediately and was kind and professional. I know things must have been very hectic at my in-laws' house, but my husband said everything went smoothly. My mother-in-law's hair and makeup turned out absolutely stunning! She looked elegant, sophisticated, and natural. Many thanks to Maira for giving my mother-in-law some much-needed pampering!

I really have no better way to describe Maira than to say she was amazing! Maira actually did the hair and makeup for one of my bridesmaids when she got married 2 years ago. I remember how great her makeup looked and she also highly recommended Maira's services (biggest selling point: the promise that my make up would never run or fade regardless of the amount of sweat/tears). During the vetting process, Maira was extremely responsive without being too pushy or putting an arbitrary timeline on my decision making like some of the other vendors did. Her approach and confidence (plus one of my closest friends vouching for her) made my selection a no brainer. My work schedule made it challenging to schedule the trial but Maira offered to come to my apt later in the afternoon to accomodate my schedule. During the trial, I felt extremely comfortable and instantly loved her upbeat energy. Knowing that i did not have much of a 'vision' for what i wanted exactly, she asked all the right questions to narrow down the looks. By the time my wedding day rolled around, I had not a single concern. Maira and her team were nothing but professional and helped me and my bridesmaids feel beautiful. I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup throughout the night, and despite some crying and lots of dancing, my makeup survived well past the reception. From the beginning to end, Maira exceeded my expectations and I am very happy that I was referred to her by my bridesmaid!

I am SO lucky to have found Maira Ortiz to do my makeup and hair for my wedding! I have never felt as beautiful as I did the day I got married! She also put together a whole amazing team for my bridal party of 14 people - each person was so talented and I have never seen my friends or family members look as gorgeous as they did on the day of the wedding. Maira came highly recommended to me from several friends and far surpassed my expectations!! After a lengthy trial and still not being sure how I wanted my hair done on the big day, Maira kept me calm and confident on the morning of and listened to what I was really looking for. I could not have been happier with how my hair and makeup came out!! I felt sso beautiful and yet I also felt comfortable and like myself. Maira is the absolute best!! She is incredibly helpful, and friendly and an expert at what she does. She made our day so much fun and so stress free. It was a pleasure working with her. My hair and makeup, as well as, my bridesmaids hair and makeup was absolutely stunning and lasted ALL night with no touch ups. We couldn't have been happier!

I used Maira for my wedding hair and makeup, and for my bridal party. She was a dream to work with. She has a very good energy and put me at ease. My bridal hair and makeup looked even better than our trial run, which I didn't think was possible. I would highly recommend airbrush makeup. She blends the tones and makes it look very natural. There were a few times during the trial that I was picky about my hair, but we re-worked it and her patience was amazing and the end product was great. She was very responsive and easy to work with. I would highly recommend using Maira and her team.

Selecting a hair and make up artist was a hard process for me, as we were coming from the UK to New York for our wedding.

On finding Maira's website I contacted her and had a good feeling from the start!

Even before meeting her on my wedding day we were in regular communication and she was always there to advise. By the day I had a vague idea of what I wanted and Maira made it better - discussing the process and ideas while doing my make up and hair, she made me feel more beautiful than I have ever felt.

I'm now trying to work out how I can get to New York so I can use her services again!

Maira and her assistant were both very professional and personable. They know their craft well and they made me (the bride), my mom, my mom-in-law, and 3 bridesmaids look absolutely stunning! They were required to travel and do all of our hair/make-up in less than 4 hours and they did just that and what a great job they did. Maira is very attentive to details and she knows what looks good and what doesn't (even if you don't really know what looks good on you). I just told her what type of look I was going for roughly and we figured it out during our trial and on the day of the wedding, I didn't have to stress at all over hair/make-up since I had so much other things to worry about! She played awesome music, too, and kept our nerves calm. She's fun and super personable, you will feel very comfortable with her. I was really happy with her services and would recommend her to anyone. Wish her the best.

Words cannot quite capture Maira's work! She is not only a very sweet person, but she's understanding and works with you, as the bride, to make sure everyone in your wedding party looks amazing. She made everyone from my youngest flower girl (age 6) to the moms feel very comfortable and most importantly, beautiful. I think the fact that my maid of honor is thinking of hiring Maira for her big day captures what an incredible job she did. There really is no one better out there. She is AMAZING!!!

Maira's services met ALL my needs. My hair and make-up looked flawless the entire day into the night. My husband snapped a photo of me at 1am and if you compare it to photos of when Maira finished in the morning I look exactly the same! And that's after hours of running around, dancing, and eating. One thing a bride should never have to worry about is, "how does my hair/make-up look?" Maira uses the best products to ensure that the bride never even wonders about that.

The best part of getting ready for my wedding is that Maira put me at total ease. She worked diligently to make sure she finished the look we created at the trial and brought the photos with her to ensure she didn't miss any details. Another added plus was that she is punctual! I didnt have to worry about the time b/c Maira made she she was on top of that.

Maira is extremely professional and I have no doubt she will make any bride look amazing. I not only found a wonderful makeup & hari artist but I also feel like I made a friend. Every bride should be lucky enough to have Maira!

Maira was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the wedding process. I found her through recommendations on websites, like this, and was impressed with what other brides were saying. I was looking for someone who was able and willing to travel to a hotel with their team to do both hair and makeup for a group of 9 plus me. Maira responded that day to my email - which impressed me, and rather than lock in the date immediately with me, she asked me to come in for a trail. She would not let me sign a contract until i was able to see her work (this impressed me, as most people wanted me to sign a contract and not do my trail until a few weeks before hte wedding). From my first meeting and trail, Maira was extremely professional and fun. She took the time to get to know me, I never felt rushed or just as if i was another client. After the first trial, she kept in contact with me through the engagement, answered any questions i had along the way, and provided me with first rate service the day of my wedding. Along with her team, she ensured that her image was maintained for the day - my girls werent just farmed out to someone of lesser expereience than Maira. She oversaw the entire process for every girl and the end results were amazing. Never in my life have i felt so beautiful - she listens to what you say and provides recommendations of what would work based on your personality and style. I would recommend Maira to anyone looking to have a day where you can truly sit back, relax and walk out of the room feeling and looking like a princess.

After our initial consultation, I felt that Maira had a great idea of the look I was going for and strong skills to get the job done. Maira is such a talent!. I knew the day that she came to do my trial that I had to book her! Not only does she do an amazing job but she is so friendly and easy to get along with. On my wedding day she and her team came early and did a fantastic job on myself and my huge bridal party (8 BM's, MOB, and FG). Def do the airbrush! It leaves your skin flawless and natural looking. I can not thank Maira Ortiz and team enough for a wonderful makeup and hair on my wedding day. Maira is amazing. She is a consummate professional and a talented artist. Maira was always able to accommodate my requests and my schedule, including a last minute request for church rehearsal hair & makeup. On my wedding day, which was stressful and emotional at first, Maira did her best to calm my nerves and help me relax and went out of her way to lift my spirits. She also knows how to bring out every client's best features and natural beauty (for brides and mothers of every background/ethnicity). Her assistants are also well-trained and professional - their work was closely supervised and perfected by Maira at the end to ensure my bridal party, my Mom and my Mother-In-Law looked amazing. My experience working with Maira Ortiz was fantastic and I would definitely recommend her not only for wedding hair and make-up but for all your special occasion needs. I did a ton of searching online – reading sites like weddingwire, weddingbee, etc. for user reviews because I wanted to be confident going into the hair & make up trial that I would not be wasting precious time and resources. I loved the reviews I read and decided to give Maira a try.
The trial went really well even though I started off very undecided with a lot of different looks. Maira is a petite dynamo full of energy, with a great personality. Although she has quite an impressive portfolio, she was not pretentious at all and was very easy to talk to. She helped tweak the styles I showed her to fit my face and didn’t just copy the pictures I brought. It’s a shame that she doesn’t believe in posting “before” and “after” shots because you would be able to see the dramatic transformation that she is able to accomplish without ever making you look “overdone”. I looked and felt like a million bucks and really hated to wash my face/hair, later that night.
The day of my wedding I was certainly feeling the pressure and stress and I love that Maira took the time to help me relax by giving me a few words of wisdom about enjoying the day and twirled me around my hotel room to dance a bit and clear my head. She expertly and efficiently did not only my hair and make-up but the hair and make-up for my mom, and two sisters – who can be quite picky- all within a tight timeframe. Maira made us all look like our very best selves…We all got tons of compliments and the pictures are great because of her flawless work.
Considering the outrageous prices other makeup artists charge for “bridal” makeup, I think Maira’s pricing is extremely reasonable, right in the middle range. Something important to consider when reviewing your budget is that most stylists I read about online DON’T do both hair and make-up so you’re stuck paying for a minimum of 2 people for the separate services. Maira, however, does both!
In the end, Maira’s work was well worth every penny. I felt pampered and beautiful as every bride should feel on her wedding day and highly recommend her services.

Maira and her team did hair and makeup for me and my four bridesmaids on the morning of my 10-2-10 wedding. Since our ceremony began at noon, we had to start pretty early in the morning. Not only did Maira arrive ready to go, she was early! We were all ready in about three hours.

All of my bridesmaids looked beautiful, and they each looked like themselves (not generic or too matchy). Each of them wanted different hair styles, and Maira did an excellent job of listening to what they wanted.
As for me, I have never felt more beautiful. Maira took what we did for my trial run, and tweaked it a little for my Wedding Day. I got the airbrush make-up, and I highly recommend it. My make-up stayed fresh-looking all day long, but it felt like I wasn't wearing anything.

I would highly recommend Maira to any bride!

Maira was AMAZING on my wedding day! She came to my house early and was ready to go. While my entire household was running around and last minute details were being fixed, Maira was a calming presence and she helped me relax. First, she did hair and makeup on my mom and aunt. They both came out stunning. Their hair and makeup stayed the entire night - and they didn't even get airbrushing like I did. In the pictures, they look flawless. Next up was me! I changed my hair style last minute and Maira was more than accommodating. Maira did my hair and my makeup - I had airbrushing done - and I swear, I did not have to touch anything up the entire day. From the 3pm church service until I got home at 2am in the morning I did not have to touch up my hair or my make up. Maira did such an amazing job on me, I was incredibly happy because as a bride you want to feel like the most beautiful woman in the world and I def. felt that way. I would def. recommend Maira and her services. She is not only a very talented hair and makeup artist but a very sweet, gentle, patient, and kind person. Thank you, Maira!

I already had a makeup trial I wasn't happy with before my trial with Maira. After my trial with Maira, I booked her immediately, as I loved the look she created for me. . Maira absolutely nailed what I was looking for on the day of. Furthermore, she arrived early and completed her work in a timely fashion, so we never felt rushed. She also did a beautiful job on my mom's hair and makeup. We both used air-brush makeup which was completely tear-proof and lasted all day. My hair also lasted until the end of the night. In fact, the curls were still there the morning after ! My mom also reported that her hairstyle held up the next day. Maira is a very sweet person and was great to have around on my wedding day. I hope to use her for special occasions in the future.

Maira and her team did makeup and hair for me, my four bridesmaids, and my mother. She was super organized, professional, and made everyone look the best I've ever seen them. She's a good listener and was able to help all of my girls look the way they wanted, despite their very different tastes and desires.

Everyone's hair stayed in place from beginning to end (and then some), and I amazingly looked fresh and made up even after the after party was over. I recommend the air brushing- it feels like you're not wearing anything at all and it STAYS ON!

In case I haven't made it clear before, I would like to emphasize how reliable Maira is. Not only did they get everyone made up with plenty of time before the wedding (we were on a tight schedule), but she also showed up to the hotel early!

Anyway, I can't recommend Maira enough- she's stress free and will make you look stunning on your special day.

All I can say is WOW! - Maira is one of the most professional and personable people I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I first met Maira in the summer 2009 when I was contacting various hair/make up artists for trials. Maira is the only stylist that was interested in setting up a consultation before the trial date to ensure we were on the same page. This was very comforting to me, especially since i have "ethnic" hair that not many mainstream stylists know how to properly handle. The consultation went well, and we arranged for a trial appointment on the same day as my engagement pictures, so I could see how it photographed.

Maira traveled to my house and began at work. She took her time and explained everything she was doing. She even brought music to have fun with. The makeup and hair looked great and the e-pics came out awesome. I did not hesitate in booking her for the wedding day!!

On the day of the wedding, Maira showed up early at the hotel where I was getting ready, set up and put on some fun music. Since we already knew the "look" we were going for, it took less time than the day of the trial.

The hair and makeup stayed put all day/night, and everything was flawless!

Some might consider Maira on the expensive side, but she is definitely worth every penny!! I will have photos/videos to look back on, and I know that I look the best I can thanks to Maira!

Maira was my make-up and hair stylist for my big day. Let’s just say I was beyond happy with the results. I already knew she was amazing she did in incredible job with my make-up for my engagement pictures so I definitely knew I was in good hands. I met Maira over a year ago, I found out about her work on Onewed. One day I was on Onewed and came across Maira and was reading customer reviews and they were GREAT! I decided to check her out; she had a website and OMG! Maira work was beyond amazing. At that instant I decided to contact her and let me just say she is a wonderful person. Maira was so sweet. We set up a date for a trial and it went more than well. Maira did a great job and I fell in love with her work and personality. Maira has a tremendous heart; she has a lot of talent and really knows what she doing. Maira is wonderful to work with; she is accommodating, patient and kind. I would definitely recommend to this vendor to family and friends. Maira has actually become my hair stylist, she is the only one allowed to color my hair, she actually helped corrected my hair color since I had so many hair dyes it looked very bad. Maira fixed it and came out amazing.

On my wedding day WOW!!!!! I bought hair extensions and she put them on and it looked like the hair extensions were mine! I had long soft curls with braids incorporated along with a hair accessory. For makeup I had airbrush makeup and I loved it!!! Maira made me the happiest bride and I will always be grateful! I admire her very much for her passion and commitment. I got married on a Sunday afternoon 5/2/10. I was a "mature" bride....47 years old and I was very concerned about looking age appropriate. I wanted to look special but not overdone. I can't say enough about Maira and her skills both on a professional and personal level. Her fun personality really kept me calm during a stressful morning. She made me look and feel beautiful. Maira was absolutely fabulous. She did my make up for my wedding day. I would have had her do my hair but unfortunately I already had an appointment that I paid for before meeting Maira. She also did make up for 3 others in my wedding that day. She was extremely professional. My whole family and bridal party still tell me how sweet she was to them. We wanted to take her with us to the wedding. She made me feel like a movie star. Better then I could have ever imagined. She did a trial at my home which was awesome cause I did not have to travel with all there is to do in planning a wedding. She then sent me pics after the trial so I could see myself in them before wedding. That way I could see if I did not like how I looked. BUT they were amazing. She could not have been better. In fact my OWN photographer was late coming to the house and she stepped in and took some pics with her camera in case he did not show in enough time to get those special shots before heading to church. WAY ABOVE what she needed to do. She really is more then an artist but a has a heart of gold. You will not be sorry to use her services. I am only sorry we had to say goodbye that day. I went through many wedding trials which I didn't like at all and then I found Maira online and called her up for a trial and I absolutely loved her. I was the maid of honor for my sister's wedding and Maira and her team worked on the hair and makeup for the bride, myself, sister, mother and grandmother ... starting at 6AM! Despite the time, they came bright, attentive, efficient and ready! They were cheerful and set the mood allowing us all to relax and leave the nerves and worries out the door.

She did amazing work, creating an individual look for each of us that was modern and elegant. Our makeup was natural looking and photographed beautifully. She did an amazing job! I'd recommend her to anyone planning their wedding or other formal engagement.

Maira is an extremely talented makeup and hair stylist who can make you look and feel so comfortable and elegant on you wedding day. From the first time I met Maira, I knew that she was going to exceed all of my expectations. She gave me a soft, romantic soft curls that were pinned to one side and decorated with green orchids. She radiated my face by giving me airbrush makeup which made me look flawless from the beginning of my wedding until late into the evening (actually up to 4 am)!! She also makes the experience very fun and energetic, setting the perfect mood for my special day! She also worked her magic with my mom and my sister, who both love her for giving them the hair and makeup that they can't stop talking about! After months of stressing and searching for a make up artist for my wedding, I did one trial with Maira Ortiz my search was over. She is pleasant and great to work with. If you may have any questions on your look she responds to text, emails and phone within minutes. On my wedding day she came on time and ready to work. Maira is THE BEST! I ended up having airbrush makeup applied, which I was initially skeptical about, as I have heard mixed reviews about the technique. I am SO GLAD that I decided on an airbrush application, rather than the traditional method of makeup application. I usually do not wear makeup, and my skin looked much better than usual-and I have very clear skin. All of my makeup, including my eye makeup, stayed on throughout the evening, so I was always ready for the camera. My videographer and photographer both commented on how amazing I looked. My skin looked flawless, all night long. My eyes looked amazing! The only thing I needed to reapply was my lip-gloss, which Maira provided and gave me to keep. Someone once told me that the artist matters more than the products used. Maira is highly skilled in her technique, and knows which products to use. One bridesmaid was worried about her makeup application, as she has sensitive skin, and she was forever grateful that she decided to have her makeup done by Maira.

You can tell that Maira enjoys people and making them look better than their best. Maira is professional and friendly. She arrived early, and made sure she had enough time with each person. She is also incredibly easy to get into contact with. I live in Boston, and would travel to New Jersey/New York to work with her again. She is THAT good!

After talking with Maira, and having her do my hair and makeup trial, I knew that I had chosen to work with someone who I could trust on the most photographed day of my life. I feel confident saying that Maira can make any woman look her absolute best on her wedding day, or any other important occasion. When my friends and family saw me for the first time, their jaws dropped! I looked and felt beautiful for my entire wedding ceremony and reception.

Maira was wonderful. We had to hire her last minute, and she was very flexible and willing to work with our crazy schedule. My hair and makeup were beautiful and managed to hold up through the all the dancing at the reception in the heat and humidity. I highly recommend her.

I am a band leader for Starlight Orchestras so I see a lot of brides and mothers of the bride. I am also a recording artist and actress who has performed on television and in live concerts for over twenty years. Amazing job by Maira! I looked and felt amazing on my wedding day. I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup. We did 2 trials and she was very patient with me (I was nervous and not so easy to please).

Had a "trial" with Maira and she was great. Seriously considers what you want and, thank goodness, she adds her own suggestions that come from experience and they worked beautifully. Make-up was beautiful, lashes, that I never wear, were so attractive even under my glasses. My hair, which was a bit overdue for a haircut, she worked perfectly. I could have gone from her chair to a party and felt beautifully "done-up". Applause!

Maira is the Hair-Fairy-God-Mother! I came to NYC on a wednesday for my wedding on Saturday thinking I had my stylist chosen and everything was all set, but after two trials it was still not what I envisioned. As you can imagine making a last minute change to your hair stylist the day before your wedding can be worrisome. Luckily my wedding coordinator knew just the person to come to my rescue! After reading every review on Maira Ortiz I decided to see if she was available. I was so lucky that Maira was available!!!!! I sent her a picture of what I wanted the night before my wedding and gave her the time frame I needed to be ready. Maira showed up, curled my hair, teased it and gave me exactly what the picture looked like in under and hour. I was in shock! Maira made my day! I can not thank her enough. This is the woman you want doing your hair on your special day because she can make you look incerdibly special!!!!

Maira and her team did a wonderful job on my hair and makeup on my wedding day. They also did hair for 7 members of my bridal party and make up for 3 girls.

Maira and her team were on time and worked very hard to give each girl the attention necessary and even redid one hair style when one of bridesmaids changed her mind.

I was impressed with Maira timeliness and ability to stay on schedule despite having a large number of girls to work with. She started right on time and ended exactly when I had told her I wanted to be ready. Her team worked very well together and really had a professional process and set up.

My bridal hair and makeup was exactly what I had hoped for. Maira listened to my ideas and my preferences in addition to making suggestions during my trial. I was very impressed to see to see that she had all the makeup we had decided on during the trial already set up when she came to do my makeup on my wedding day in addition to an ipad with pictures and notes on. Her organization really impressed me.

My hair was half up, half down with curls down the back. My makeup was natural looking and stayed on flawlessly all night long despite humid weather and a lot of dancing. I received many compliments and my husband continues to tell me how stunning I looked.

Maira and her team are definitely worth the money.

Maira did a BEAUTIFUL job on my wedding day makeup!! She made me look absolutely stunning!!! She also has an amazingly professional set-up -- she comes with a special makeup chair and tons of equipment, and even brings her own lighting and music! When we had my trial, she carried a laptop with her and entered all of the makeup she did on my into the computer, and took professional-quality photos of what we had done! I was really impressed with all of that. The only down-side is that she is expensive, but it was well worth it for how she made me look on my wedding day! Also, I was convinced I would need her around for touch-ups, so I booked her for extra time to stay and touch up my makeup during the course of the day -- but she did such an amazing job with her airbrush makeup, that it didn't fade or smear at ALL, even after hours of taking pictures outside and tons of dancing! The only touching up I required was my lipstick! When I was getting ready for bed at 5:00 AM, after having worn my makeup for almost 20 hours, it was still absolutely PERFECT and looked as good as when it was freshly applied -- I was amazed by the staying power! I was so sad when I had to wash my face before bed!

I really enjoyed Maira's upbeat personality. She is a ball of energy and super friendly. I loved my hair and make-up trial. For some reason, I didn't love my wedding day hair and make-up as much. She and her team did hair and make-up for all my bridesmaids and the mothers. Some of the women were better than others and Maira ended up having to re-do the work of one of her assistants. I think this put us in a bit of a time crunch and Maira was still working on my poor mother-in-law while we should have been starting family pictures. Maira is definitely talented and friendly, the wedding day seemed too rushed however and as a result, stressed me out and the final quality/result was not as great as I had seen her do at my trial.

I loved my hair and makeup on my wedding day and felt the trial was very helpful. It cost far more than I originally wanted to spend but Maira was one of the few people that agreed to do my makeup without also doing a wedding party. The makeup and hair looked beautiful and I received numerous compliments on it.
