About Us

I have provided music to numerous wedding ceremonies and parties as well as birthday and anniversary events, both as a solo guitarist performing Irish, folk & classical music as well as with her traditional Irish band, The Ivy Leaf. I am presently booking gigs throughout the Eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Southern Maine and New Hampshire, and Eastern Connecticut areas.

As a player of traditional finger-style guitar, I can provide a beautiful backdrop for your wedding, party or event  In addition to my repertoire of traditional folk and finger-style pieces and Irish & Scottish ballads and songs, I play steel-string renditions of some of the classical wedding standards and some contempoary folk and soft-rock songs.  Please see below for a song list.  You can listen to samples on my website at http://www.lindsaystraw.com.

I am available solo (with or without vocals), as a duo with a violinist, or with my traditional Irish band, The Ivy Leaf.  (Note:  All songs on the list below are available if you hire me solo or as a duo; the Irish band cannot cover the classical or contemporary material.)

If you have questions about availability or would like a quote, please email lstraw.music@gmail.com.

If you're looking for a fun, lively band for your wedding reception, perhaps you might consider my traditional Irish band, The Ivy Leaf!  We play a wide repertoire of traditional Irish dance tunes, ballads, classic songs and newer arrangements featuring fiddles, flute, whistle, concertina, guitar, bouzouki and vocals.  If you want Irish music but can't afford the whole band, you can also hire two or three members for your event.  For more information, check out our site at http://www.ivyleafmusic.com.  You can also email ivyleafmusic@gmail.com with questions or requests.

As of February 2012, due to an increasingly busy schedule with my Irish & folk projects, I can no longer take pop, soft-rock or classical requests from new inquiries, though I can still consider requests for Irish, Scottish and folk pieces I don’t currently play for no additional charge.  When contacting me, please let me know what potential musical selections you might have (they can be changed later) and remember that my background is primarily folk and traditional Irish music.  I do not play jazz, R&B or most pop and cannot accommodate any requests in those genres.

Ceremony Music

As soon as I heard Lindsay's music on her website, I knew she would be perfect for our outdoor ceremony. She was warm and responsive from the very first email, and she was willing and able to play everything we requested. She played a mix of folk/Irish songs as guests arrived, and then more contemporary songs for our ceremony processional and recessional. Her music was absolutely beautiful and hearing her play as I prepared to walk down the aisle really made the emotion of the day hit me, and I got completely swept up in the moment. I honestly don't think that would have happened without Lindsay's live music, so I could not be happier with our decision to hire her!
