About
Bay Area, CA.

I am a nondenominational wedding minister, and a member of the National Association of Wedding Ministers. I can perform civil, religious, nondenominational, multifaith and same-sex wedding ceremonies tailored to your personal style or beliefs.  Ceremonies are available in English or Spanish.

I will help you design a ceremony that reflects your individual backgrounds and your common interests into a symbolic ceremony that represents who you are as a couple. Some issues we’ll consider are if you prefer a religious or nonreligious ceremony, your cultural backgrounds, and if you would like to include a symbolic ceremony (such as the Unity Candle Ceremony, Hand Ceremony, Honor Your Mother Ceremony, etc.). We will also discuss if you wish to have other family members participate (such as children from bride or groom or other family members), or if you wish to honor the memory of loved ones during the ceremony.  The ceremony will be as long or short and as simple or complex as you choose.

I honor and respect all beliefs and traditions, whether religious or secular. I never try to promote my personal beliefs during the ceremony or during our meetings together. My goal is to provide a ceremony that completely reflects who you are. During our meetings, I will focus on getting to know you and understanding how to make your ceremony special to you.

After our initial meeting, I will be available to answer any wedding related questions and offer advice for your wedding plans, such as budget-saving suggestions and tips to make things easier for you.

Always remembering that this is about your day, the entire ceremony will be approved by you ahead of time. This will avoid any awkward surprises and will ensure that the ceremony will accurately reflect your style and beliefs.

Thank you for considering me as your officiant.  Please contact me to set up a meeting.

Sincerely,

Rev. Alberto Alvarado

No

Are you willing to perform a ceremony at a non-religious site?
I am willing to perform at any location of your choice.

Are you flexible in the wording used throughout the ceremony, including the vows?
I am very flexible. During our initial meeting, we will go over all the aspects of the ceremony, including the wording. I also provide a variety of vows from which to choose. After I write the first draft of the ceremony, I email it to the bride and groom for approval, providing unlimited revisions.

Do you allow the couple to write their own vows, if desired?
Many of my couples choose to write their own vows. If needed, I also offer assistance in writing the vows for no extra fee. If they wish, the bride and groom may email the vows to me separately so I can review them and make sure they are on par with each other' vows.

Do you have a list of readings pre-selected, from which the couple must choose?
I have a large list of readings from many sources.

Do you require that premarital counseling be done?
I do not require premarital counseling.

Are you willing to perform pre-ceremony rehearsals?
Yes. I will perform rehearsals if the couple requests it. I also include a breakdown of the processional and all the cues on the written draft of the ceremony.
