How long have you been in business?
Island Sound has been in been in business since 1987.
What are the advantages of a DJ over a Band?
DJ’s can provide a variety of music. DJ’s are practiced MC’s. DJs do not
take breaks.
What kind of equipment do you use?
Only Professional DJ equipment like: Pioneer and Denon CD Players; JBL, Peavey
Speakers; Rane,Gemini, and Numark Mixers; Shure Wireless Microphones;
QSC and Carver Amplifiers; and much More.
Can you provide music for our ceremony?
Yes. We have performed at many Ceremonies. We can play appropriate Prelude,
Processional, Interlude, and Recessional selections.
May I see a selection of your music?
Yes. Feel free to check our online
song list.
Will I have a written contract?
Yes. Island Sound is completely licensed and insured, and will always provide
you with a contract.
Do you take requests?
You reserve the right to allow us to take requests. If you allow us to take requests
at your event we are happy to take any appropriate requests.
Do you have all types of music?
Yes. We have everything from Big Band to today’s pop music all on 100%
compact disc for optimal music quality.

Do you sub-contract your work out?
No. All of our DJs are a part of Island Sound. If we are unavailable for your event
we will refer you to another proud member of the Triangle Disc Jockey Association.
Do you you have backup equipment and personnel?
We always have a DJ on call with extra equipment for emergency situations.
Why the name Island Sound?
Island sound originated in Long Island, New York.
How soon in advance do I need to book your services?
Generally 6 to 9 Months ahead. However, we will be happy to accept last minute
inquiries.
What geographical area do you serve?
We service most of North Carolina with our primary business in the Triangle and
Triad areas.
What will our DJ be wearing?
The DJ will be dressed in full Tuxedo unless otherwise instructed.
When will you arrive at my event?
Our policy for most events is to arrive an hour ahead of our scheduled start time.
For systems requiring more detailed setup we will compensate accordingly.
Can we see our DJ perform live?
We meet with our potential clients on an appointment basis only. We are
available most days and evenings during the week. We do not invite clients to our
wedding performances,or any other private party as a courtesy to our clients.
However, you can see our staff on our demo DVD. Please call for your copy.
Should I tip my DJ?
Feel free to tip your DJ if you wish. While tips are not expected, they are greatly
appreciated. Any tip given to your DJ will be taken as a compliment.
Do you have referrals?
You can either browse each individual DJ page to see some references, or call
for a more extensive reference list.
Do we need to provide anything for you?
Most weddings provide a table with linens to match the decor placed
within reasonable distance from an outlet. If a table cannot be provided tell us
at least one week before the event and we will be happy to bring one with us.
Do you charge travel fees?
Travel fees may apply outside the Triangle area. Please call for more details.

Do you bring backup equipment?: YES
How long have you been in business?: Island Sound-DJ’s & Video started in 1987.
Have you shot a wedding at my church or reception site?: It is quite likely! From
Wilmington to Raleigh to Charlotte, NC, Island Sound-DJ’s & Video has been able
to service many clients both locally and in far away places!
Will Island Sound Videographers be the team taping my wedding?: YES. We don’t
outsource to other videographers.
How much money do I need to put down to reserve my wedding date?: 1/3 of the
total quote. Then 1/3 ten days prior to the wedding date. The last 1/3 is due upon
acceptance of the finished product.
Do you have digital camera equipment?: YES
How long is the finished tape?: Between 50 and 90 minutes.
How many copies of the DVD do we receive?: At least THREE, depending on the
package you select. You are able to order more at $30 per DVD or VHS
copy.
How well do you work with the photographer?: We are extremely professional and
courteous to all other vendors.
How long do you stay at our wedding?: We have a set maximum which is listed on
each package offered. Overtime hours are also available.
Do you sell all of the raw footage of the wedding?: YES, we offer it to our clients at
$125/VHS or $325/DVD.
Do you use a light on your camera?: If necessary, but it is unobtrusive. We normally
do not use lighting during the ceremony, unless asked.
Can you videotape ONLY the Ceremony?: YES, call for a customized price quote.
How long does it take to receive the final product?: We strive to finish your wedding
video in EIGHT to TWELVE weeks.
