Facilities and Capacity

Historic Spanish Point offers both indoor and outdoor venue options for a ceremony and reception surrounded by natural splendor and old Florida charm. Couples have the opportunity to make their wedding exactly the way they envision by using all of the possibilities that Historic Spanish Point has to offer. Intimate weddings can be held in Mary’s Chapel with seating for up to 40 guests, while more grand ceremonies are held at the formal gardens that can seat up to 150 guests.

History

Historic Spanish Point is an archaeological, historical, and environmental museum accredited by the American Association of Museums. The homestead was established in 1867 by John Webb and his family. The lavish historical garden was later built in 1912 by Mrs. Potter Palmer, a Chicago socialite who came to Sarasota to establish a winter estate. The private, not-for-profit organization and the museum opened in 1982.
