What sets Elegant Touch Invitations apart from other calligraphers:
Brides will get free consultation; free sample and free shipping. I treat everybody like an individual not just a business transaction.  I enjoy the Brides that I work with and I enjoy sharing my gift.

ShouId I order my invitaions early?
Yes the sooner you have your envelopes, place cards, etc. the better especially during peak wedding season; Try to provide materials at least 3 weeks ahead of time to stuff, stamp and mail

How do I reserve my dates on your schedule?
In order to "officially" reserve your dates you check with me and send 50% deposit along with form of services requested to hold your dates

Why is it important to provide extra material?
Calligraphy is an art.  Much concentration goes into each letter. Extra materials allow for additions, changes, and human error

How should I provide my guest list?
Guest Lists should be typed in 2 columns one for the Outer and one for the Inner envelope, typed EXACTLY how you want it to appear on the envelopes

DO YOU PROVIDE FREE SHIPPING?
Yes, I believe in doing whatever it takes to make sure that each transaction is as smooth and stress free as possible.  If a Bride is unable to meet with me and ships their envelopes, etc. I will ship them back at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. (priority mail)  If you decide to have your products mailed overnight, client is responsible for those charges

Will you provide References?
Without hesitation, I am very confident in what I do and how I do it

Do you accept Credit Cards?
Yes, I accepts credit cards via pay pal

What script styles do you offer?
I am glad to say that in addition to Rook, Citadel, Alexandra,Allyson,Palace,Copperplate,Basalt,Spencerian Script and Italic, I also am able in most cases if given a little time to learn "almost" any style.

Do you charge a minimum fee for services?
As a general rule I charge a $20.00 set up fee for services

How did you learn calligraphy?
At 12 my Aunt in Ohio gave me a calligraphy marker and it went from there. I fell in love with Spencerian Script and other pointed pen styles and I was fortunate enough to have been taught by the Chief White House Calligrapher, Pat Blair.

Do you assemble the invitations?
No, at this time I am unable to assemble invitations for clients because of the demand for services, it is however something I will consider in the future. I do ask that you DO NOT stuff your envelopes before sending them to me.

Tips and Advice

Hiring a Calligrapher

...continued

When you are considering a calligrapher, Take TIMING into consideration....very important.  Your invitations are just as important as the rest of your wedding!!  Your going to get busy, stressed, running around in circles!!!! Oh, my gosh.  Really, when your considering calligraphy...ask for portfolio, samples, always have everything in writing.  As a calligrapher, I require agreements between my clients and myself.  It’s just good business.  Each person knows exactly what is expected.  Have your information ready and correct.  Also,  I will not exchange quality for time, calligraphy is more time consuming than writing with a regular "ink pen", so ALLOW TIME TO HAVE THE CALLIGRAPHY DONE SO YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO PAY RUSH FEES.  You  want your invitations to be beautiful, create the atmosphere from the very beginning. TIP:  You can sometimes have your envelopes before you get your invitations so the addressing can begin while your invitations are being printed. (unless you choose handwritten calligraphy 100%)TIP:  You can have your complete ensemble handwritten and scan and print it yourself if your budget is TIGHT

If you absolutely can NOT afford to have true "pen in ink" calligraphy, you can still have your envelopes beautifully addressed in a monoline style that will still make a wonderful first impression, so you do have a choice...For samples of monoline style writing contact me.   Work with someone who will help you if you get stumped on etiquette.  These are choices that you will have to make.  Pretend you are the one getting the invitation and try to  imagine if the "Labels" or "Handwritten" is more inviting.  Don’t look like you were in a last minute rush.  Call me if you have questions

If you have etiquette questions do not hesitate to call

I look forward to working with the future Brides'

VERY IMPORTANT: WHEN ORDERING INVITATIONS...CONTACT CALLIGRAPHER EARLY ON; ORDER THE ADDITIONAL 25 ENVELOPES THAT YOUR STATIONER ADVISES AT THE TIME OF YOUR ORDER; BE PREPARED, COMMUNICATE AND DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK QUESTIONS...EVER.
