Additional Questions and Answers
Alterations:  Once you have selected the dresses for yourself and bridal party, it is time to select a seamstress.  Your wedding may be months away but it is never too early to get your wedding date on my schedule. Alterations should be started six weeks before your wedding date.  At this time you should have your undergarments and shoes for the fitting.  I have a variety of crinolines available for rent.  Two fittings are usually needed, one for the initial pinning and one for the final fitting.  When the dresses are completed, they will be steamed and bagged for you to take to the church.  This is usually done the day before the wedding.

Custom Design and Dressmaking:  Once you have selected a style, we will meet to discuss fabric and color. I have lots of fabric samples to pick from.   After measurements have been taken, I can begin creating.  Two additional fittings will be needed for bridesmaids.  Bridal Gowns will need three to four fittings.  The dresses will be custom fit so there will be no additional cost for alterations or steaming.

Tips and Advice
When shopping for a bridal gown, it is very important to keep an open mind.  Try on as many different styles as possible and make sure they are in different colors.  Pay close attention to what the styles and colors look like on you.  You may have a picture of the dress of your dreams but it may not look dreamy on you!  When you find a few dresses you really like, try them on again.  Be sure to consider comfort when selecting your gown.  Some dresses just may be too heavy for you to carry around all day.  Remember, you will be in this dress for a long time.  Once you have made your selection.....stop shopping!  You don't want to end up with two dresses.
