Frequently Asked Questions for Photography

What do your packages include?
Albums, Custom Graphic Design, Digital Files, Flush Mount, High Resolution Images, Negatives, Proof CD of All Images, Video Montage
Do you have liability insurance?
No
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
I'm completely digital, so I can do spot coloring, sepia and lots of other effects.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
In wedding photography you are pretty much exposed to everything. I would assume most professional photographers have mastered pretty much anything you can throw at them.
Is your media preference film or digital?
digital
How many photographers do you work with?
I have backup photographers I keep in contact with, but I usually photograph along with an assistant. I do however have the option of adding an additional photographer.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
I NEVER do more than one wedding in a day. I may book 2 or 3 in one weekend (Unless, of course, the wedding is out of town. Then I would only photograph one.)
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I do keep in contact with other photographers for this very reason.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
I bring 3 cameras and I have lots of memory cards and extra flashes. I also bring a laptop with me so my assistant can backup your photographs throughout the day.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes. (see above)
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
I am always available for shooting overtime. You can decide at the reception that you want me to stay later.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Just a short break to eat.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
In one month you will receive the DVDs in the mail for your own reprinting of pictures. Or at that time, you can pick the pictures for your album.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
DVDs and on-line for sharing with friends and family.
How long can the client keep the proofs?
They are theirs to keep.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes. We share rights. You can reprint your pictures for personal use and I reserve the right to use them for advertising or photo contests.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
The couple does receive the digital negatives.
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes, you can order photographs from the site or you can print your own reprints from the CD-ROMs provided.
What kind of albums do you offer?
I have library bound, leather bound, coffee table, parent albums and more.

Additional Answers & Advice:
Make sure any photographer you sit down with shows you an entire wedding that they themselves photographed before signing a contract or giving a deposit. Also, make sure that the work you see is from the person who will be actually photographing your wedding.
Also, your contract should state all services and products that will be received for the agreed price. Unfortunatly some photographers will add fees or say there is more expenses if you want your album after the wedding. Be a smart shopper and watch out for this. Don't assume your album is in the package price unless you have it in writting on your contract. |
