We can retouch all blemishes as well as offering a variety of artistic image treatments such as hand-coloring and split toning.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
Astra photographers are experienced in all types of lighting situations. From daylight to candlelight, we capture the essence of the moment.
Is your media preference film or digital?
We shoot primarily in the digital medium, but medium format film photography is available by request.
How many photographers do you work with?
We are always the principle photographers on your wedding day.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes, one of the Astra Creative principals will work your event. You can rely on the fact that the person you meet with to discuss your special day will be the one there on your day!
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
We never book more than one wedding per day or one wedding per weekend. Your special day is our special day. You always get our undivided attention without outside distractions.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes, though we've thankfully never had to make that call.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
We typically shoot with Canon gear. We use 5D bodies, L-series lenses and 580EX Speedlights.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes, we always have spare cameras just in case we experience a failure. We know the importance of your day, so we always have redundant systems at the ready.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
We have packages that range from a few hours to all day. That way you only pay for the coverage you need!
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
Our overtime rate is $150 per hour.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
We don't require any special breaks. We pack a cooler with water and snacks so that we can keep up with you and all the events of your day.
Do you charge for travel?
We only charge for travel outside the greater Indianapolis area.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Proofs are available within 30 days of your event, most often sooner.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Astra offers free online proofing as well as the option to purchase a proof book. Whatever works best for you work for us!
How long can the client keep the proofs?
Online proofs will be available for a period of one year. Proof books are yours to keep forever.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes, we retain the right to use your photos for attracting couples in the future. If you desire to purchase all rights to your images, they will be made available to you.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes, we reserve the right to publish your photos as examples of our work to prospective clients.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
We provide digital negatives of all your images with all wedding packages.
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes, online proofing and ordering is a feature of all our photography packages.
What kind of albums do you offer?
Astra Creative Photography proudly offers hand-made Graphis Studio Photobooks with all our packages. A traditional album can be substituted for the Photobook if desired.
When will the client get the final album?
The final Photobook is typically delivered within 3 weeks after final images are selected.
