You know we're all thinking about it...

Beachbride85, on July 29, 2015 at 6:48 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

What's everyone's plan for going to the bathroom the day of? I don't know about any of you but I intent on wearing body armor under my dress which is not going to be easy to take on and off. I work in the hospital and I've considered taking a female urinal with me to make the bathroom challenge a little easier lol!

I actually think that is a clever idea! My dress has a very low back, so no chance of being able to wear much of anything underneath. I am hoping to be able to pull it up and down.

Following to see the other ladies advice

I am changing dresses to something much ... less. My ceremony gown is a corseted, poofy ball gown. Not happening. (without help any way...)

And planning to use the facilities between dresses just to make it easier!

I am a little worried about that as I literally *can't* pee in front of other people. Not my mom, no one. My only hope would be FH but I think if I had him come into the bathroom with me people might get the wrong idea. I heard a trick where you take a trash bag, rip a hole in the bottom, put your feet through the hole, and then pull the bag up and use the bag to pull your dress up and hold your dress. Then you pretty much rip the bag and get a new one next time. Here's hoping that works as well as claimed!

I chose spanx that have a slit crotch, and my dress wasn't super poufy, but you still have to be able to hike up the dress... my BFF needed two girls in a handicap stall to hold up her dress for her even with a bustle! I made sure to only drink water the morning of the wedding, and i went to the bathroom three times in about 30 minutes before I walked out of the hotel room, and i didn't use the bathroom for six hours LOL... I didn't actually have much to drink at the wedding so I didn't end up even dealing with it. Wow, I just realized that now!

The female urinal is a great idea because you can stand up while peeing - i have used that traveling to very undeveloped countries before, and once i got over the fear that i was going to pee all over myself, it worked beautifully.... BUT you are still going to need an extra pair of hands to hold up the dress while you position the device and hold it in place, unless you're in a sheath dress that you can handle yourself... no one will see anything, so it's not that bad - and it will save you from trying to sit down on a toilet with two people holding your dress, while the dress gets all over the walls and toilet. so still a good option.

The other thing is, if you DO have to sit down, consider sitting backwards on the toilet, which is easier for two girls to help you with the dress and you aren't backing up against the wall.

Sit backwards on the toilet, and straddel it. It works like a charm with somone just holding the back of your dress. :-)

I awkwardly peed while my maid of honor helped me with my dress... We just looked at opposite walls and then laughed about it after haha

Haha I don't have my dress yet so I am not quite sure how I will be planning on doing my business the day of. But I do have a very good friend who I know will not mind helping me in any way I need. I have done the straddling the toilet thing and I recommend it for a dress with a train!

Me and my friends are very candid (lots of its coming out like lava references back and forth Smiley laugh) and two sisters with the same thing so those ladies are helping me out!

I'm going to have my sister hold up my dress while I straddle the seat. I haven't told her this yet! lol.

Probably get my mom to help me, it's not a very big poofy dress but the material makes it a little heavy to lift. That might be the only difficulty.

Since we're getting married at a house, I'll probably take my dress off and put it on the bed before going. It's very easy to get in and out of. The shapewear I'm planning on wearing has bra-like hooks in the crotch.

I'm going with the backward straddle maneuver. I'm dreading it because when I'm nervous I constantly have to pee.

I looked this up once and I read something about taking garbage bags and basically putting a hole through the bottom and stepping into it and using the bag to gather the extra material. Not what I'm going to do, but creative.

My dress itself I don't think poses much of an issue its fit and flare lace so it's easy to lift. My problem is the shape wear underneath that comes above where my corset laces up so I would literally have to unlace it to pull it down. I have spanx with the coo how hole in it so the urinal might be my best bet. Maybe I'll do a trial run trying to owe through the spanx hole crotch and see how it works lol

Oh my other option is to take a Foley catheter kit from work and strap the bag to my leg
