Wrong Venue Address on our Invitations :[

Stephanie ♥, on July 16, 2012 at 11:27 AM Posted in Planning 0 12

After assembling [not sealing fortunately] our invitations last night, I realized the venue address is wrong. It should say 42174, not 42178! It's my entirely fault :[. I need to send the invitations out this week! We are including a map to the venue, but should I also create a little business card from VistaPrint stating the error or would that be really tacky? We don't really have the $$ to recreate the invitations [& have them rushed here!] at this point. I'm so pissed, but regardless, something needs to be done. What do you ladies think??

I'm probably in the minority... but the address is SO close (2 properties away, right?) I'd leave it alone. Especially if it's a named venue (and not a person's house, etc)

    Sorry you had that happen.

I would add a little card with the address correction. Also post it prominently on your website if you have one. Also make sure you and your bridal party spread the word verbally. Vistaprint might not work because they take soooo long to ship. You could create them using business cards from an office supply store.

If the venue is in a prominent enough place, and your already frazzled, you might just go with AllyRey's suggestion. Just let it ride.

Edit: Btw, what invitation did you decide on? Aren't you the Stephanie C I created the board for?

I might be just about the last person to listen to, but I would just correct it on the invitation by hand (a 4 can easily be made into an 8, I think)...

Invitations have never been really high on my list of worries or cares, though, so you might not want to go my route.

I agree wtih AlleyRey. It's not as if the road is wrong, and if it is a named venue, people will figure it out. They will probably end up blaming themselves for having the address wrong (don't the majority of people forget the invite like me? no?).

If you want to include the card, I would DIY and buy the labels from Staples and make it with your printer. It won't take long and it will still be on card stock so it won' t look cheap. You can even make a funny saying on the card to make it into a joke.

I hope it works out for you!

I didn't think about creating a little something of my own & even being humorous about it! Thank you ladies for reassuring me it's not the end of the world ;].

@EDubbsWife: Wrong Stephanie C., but I have seen her & because the mobile app doesn't show our avatars it's kind of funny ;].

Don't stress about it too much. Like most of the girls are saying just add a little card correcting the error.. I made a mistake myself. On my cards where I put the registration information I misspelled Bed Bath & Beyond. Ended up being Bed Bad & Beyond. I just sent them like that. No body's perfect and we're going to end up having more important things to worry about... good luck and congrats

Yea, I actually would have ignored it, especially if it is a big hotel or something you can't miss. If it's a tiny house or B&B on a street, it might be different. But I wouldnt stress too much over it. Putting in some sort of card noting the mistake is fine too and update the website so people know there was a typo.

Some people may plug the address into their GPS. I'd add a small card noting the correction. You can get Avery business card stock at an office supply store.

We found out after our invites went out that there was a small typo on the date. Its a Thursday Wedding but originally we were going to have a Sat. and the invites had been started before the change. I never realized I didn't change the Sat. but I did correct the date. We only had 18 to go out and of those we already know who is coming on our DW with us. Everything else says Thursday so we are not going to worry about it. I think yours is close enough and with the map don't sweat it.

I have to disagree, although it would have been good timing to send out the invites now, I think it would be much better to just go online tonight reorder them. Your wedding is 9/15, right? If you order them tonight and even do the 2 week shipping, you should have them by the 30th/31st of this month, Since you don't need to change the envelopes, all you have to do is stuff them, you should be able to get them in the mail by August 3rd, even if it takes a week for people to get them, that is still only Augut 10th (5 weeks before the wedding). If you can pay a little more for the one week shipping, then your guests get 6 full weeks. Although it would be cutting it close, I think you have the time to make it right.

Budget wise I think it's ridiculous to order more invites. They're so expensive! Add a homemade card and blame it on the printer! Lol.
