WR: What do you think of this (snarky) invitation wording? More snark please!!

Nik_McAwesomepants, on June 21, 2011 at 2:01 PM Posted in Planning 0 27

Soo I've been looking for a while for some kind of witty invitation wording without much luck. I was thinking today about how DH (not many people know we're legally married) have been together forever (about 4 years or 20 years in unmarried military couple time) and "aren't" married. We get questioned on an almost daily basis about it. Soo here's what I got.

And if ya hate it, just say so. A simple "Eh, didn't do it for me" will surfice :-) Any snarky invite wording suggestions are also welcome. The attached invite sample is the layout I'm working off of.

After years of playing house building their love

Nikole blahblah

&

Ramell blah blah

Invite you to join them as they

(finally) get married!

Friday, October 21st

At 4:30 in the afternoon

I love the idea, but not snarky enough, I'm stumped right now how to make it snarkier, but if I think of something I'll be back!

HAHA I love that one Hayley! I keep telling people the jig is up. No reason to make a big fuss over two people getting married who have lived together for three years and have bought all the shit they want already. Yep we're having sex. Yes we fight about in-laws and money. BFD.

I laughed out loud at an RSVP card I saw once:

    [Guest name]

    __ regretfully accepts

    __ happily declines

__ thinks you're just trying to wrangle a gift out of me

    Pretty snarky.

    This one is funny, too:

Aha, here's the one I was looking for:

    http://www.anotherfuckingwedding.com/2006/07/rsvp_.html

    [Guest]

    __ will gladly attend

    __ will regretfully decline

    __ will regretfully attend

    __ will enthusiastically decline

__ will decline to respond but ultimately attend

__ thinks you are just trying to wrest a gift out of me.

    We almost used this!

Here's my favorite snarky wedding wording...cracks me up for some reason:

    Mr. and Mrs. Davidson

Are delighted to finally give away their daughter, Catherine Robinson

To Mike Davidson, who has no idea what he's gotten himself into.

Come celebrate at the reception we've waited a lifetime to throw:

    On (date)

    From (time)

    At (venue)

Please respond no later than ____.

Don't look for us after the party -- we're interviewing renters for Jenny's room.
