Would you appreciate playing cards as a favor?

I'm not really super into the idea of favors, but I saw on Shutterfly that you can make personalized decks of playing cards. FH is a magician (as is the Best Man and several of our guests), and carries decks of cards with him everywhere to do magic for people. I'm thinking it might be cute to give...

FH is a magician (as is the Best Man and several of our guests), and carries decks of cards with him everywhere to do magic for people. I'm thinking it might be cute to give out personalized decks of cards as favors.

Would this be a good favor, or would you likely not bring the cards home with you?

Thanks, everyone. FH is super into the idea, so we will be sure to make sure they are less personalized and maybe one pack per family/couple.

If they have your faces on them, I would leave them. No offense.

ETA: I always think favors that are personalized with the couple's faces are a little cheesy.

Honestly, I think unless it's something people can consume favors get left no matter what. I wouldn't waste your money on something you didn't really want in the first place.

If I attended a wedding where they had no connection to a magician I'd probably suggest finding another option. However, it totally makes sense for your wedding! I'd do it!

There's a 0% chance we would put or faces on the cards. We'd do our ceremony location in Central Park or something.

I don't think I'd use them if they had a photo or wedding info on them. If they are regular cards I think it would be a good idea.

Personally, I like playing cards. So I'd take them! But I guess don't be sad if some leave them behind.

If they're personalized, no. If not, maybe.. but i would probably still leave without them.

I think it's a cute idea! Especially since it fits you as a couple. Definitely don't personalize with your face though, as pp have said. Just include your name and date on the box or something. That'd probably bring the costs down a bit too! Overall though, you know your guest list best and if they would enjoy this kind of thing. I'm guessing they will though since you probably tend to hang around a lot of magicians or at least people who appreciate them. I always feel like I can use an extra set for games and stuff though.

Pass and save some money! Although I think the cards are one of the best options for a favor, people won't appreciate them enough to make the cost worth it. High five to you for marrying a magician, he must be so fun!

My parents and my aunts would keep them. They play pinochle a lot! But most of my guests would not care.

I'd keep 'em, we play a lot of board/card games and would get a lot of use out of them. Smiley smile

@Renny - I'm pretty sure pinochle requires a special deck - not the usual 52 card one.

We went to one wedding that had a deck of cards as favors. I planned to take them, because I swear none of our packs are complete. Guests at our table were messing around with the boxes, piling them up to make things, etc., that we ended up forgetting them, when we left.

Oh my goodness. What is wrong with you people? Ha just kidding but seriously, no one appreciates a good deck of cards? FH and I were playing card games last night. We would love this!
