Would you appreciate playing cards as a favor?

I'm not really super into the idea of favors, but I saw on Shutterfly that you can make personalized decks of playing cards. FH is a magician (as is the Best Man and several of our guests), and carries decks of cards with him everywhere to do magic for people. I'm thinking it might be cute to give...

FH is a magician (as is the Best Man and several of our guests), and carries decks of cards with him everywhere to do magic for people. I'm thinking it might be cute to give out personalized decks of cards as favors.

Would this be a good favor, or would you likely not bring the cards home with you?

I personally like playing card games. So as long as it wasn't personalized I'd use them.

I love personalization stuff but that's not for everyone. I wouldn't mind the cards, it's always good for a poker night.

I love playing cards so I would definitely take them. I say put your initials on them, like AB, and have the font and background in your wedding colors. That way its personalized, but not to the point that people will ask about it every time you play cards.

ETA: My special characters won't show up so pretend there's and ampersand between the A and B

I like the idea, especially since your FH is a magician and it represents something he loves. Plus, it never hurts to have a deck of cards around. I would probably just put your photos, wedding date, etc. on the box and have the cards just be regular playing cards though.

I'd probably leave them. If I did take them, they would get thrown in a random drawer and never touched, especially if they were personalized with a picture.

I think those are a great idea as a favor, but definitely no pictures. Maybe customize them with some other cool thing that means a lot to you? A picture of a place you've been or something like that.

We would put a photograph of somewhere near our ceremony location in Central Park. Either the John Lennon Imagine mosaic or Bethesda Fountain or something.

I'd play with them, and keep them, depending on how they're personalized.

Keep in mind, you know your crowd better than we do.

I don't even really like games but I would take them because they're nice to have on hand. Plus it'll give your nondancers something to do. Just don't put your face on them lol I wouldn't use them if they had a persons picture on it. Can you download just a normal picture without people on it and just print that? If you're worried people won't take them you could always just set a stack on each table so people can play cards if they don't like to dance

I like the ones that you just have a personalized case. They are much cheaper and that way the entire deck isn't personalized.

I thought it was a really cool idea because who doesn't have a deck of cards at home somewhere?! (My FH doesn't agree).

But I think since there's the magician element it would be so cute!

Since there would be no pics on them, I would take them. I wouldn't mind having an extra deck of cards around. I think it's nice that the favor is tied into your FH's hobby. And from the sound of it, your guests would appreciate it too.

I think it would depend on the personalization. If it was a picture of another couple, I'd probably leave the cards there. But if it just had some sort of love quote, a thank you for coming saying, or even your wedding date and names, I'd like it! Plus it's almost like a way of giving guests something extra to do if they don't enjoy dancing the whole night.

You can never have too many card decks!

I think card deck are something that it dosnt really matter what it looks like, and if it has a cool picture historical on it I wouldnt mind a name & date. I have a few card decks from different city's & places I have been.

The last wedding we were at had these as favors. We now have 8 deck of cards and have used 1 for years. It's a waste of money and is just clutter at this point. I don't know anyone that doesn't have a deck already.

I would probably pass myself. Friends of ours did cards for their wedding and they have an entire case of unopened packs of cards. But you know you and your crowd better than we do.
