Worst. Gift. EVER.

So, another thread got me thinking- what is the WORST gift you have ever recieved? Of course, wedding/shower gifts are preferred, but since most of us have not gotten there yet... any will do.

I think mine would be the time my mother regifted to me a book I had originally given to her--with my inscription to her still in it.

All from grandma at different times the family makes fun of all her gifts:

    Yellow jeans

Blue pom poms (right after i didnt make it onto the highschool squad)

    A highlighter

    A jewel troll

a purse made from soda can tabs

a feather pen (ud think cool but think instead a pen with a feather taped to it)

Leather pants (12 sizes too big)

leather skirt (same size as the pants)

oh and i almost forgot the latest got it at the last shower...

A moo moo.... yeah like the things really really FAT OLD LADIES wear!

She only has ever scored on the one WHITE super skimpy lingerie

(my mother helped her pick it out

FH's aunt gave me a Paris Hilton book.... that was pretty bad too

    Daaammn! @ 2nd Bride

My brother once gave me an unwrapped used book for christmas...it was so worn that it had multiple cracks in the spine. (If you knew me, you'd know I'm a little anal, a crazy book lover, and I HATE cracked spines on books... In fact, I have books I've read 20 times that have no folded pages and not a cracked spine in sight)

@MrsJoseph: Yeah. At this point, I'm no longer in contact with my mother. Somehow, not getting gifts from her is not a problem for me.

@MrsJoseph: I did it. I have a plug-in for Firefox that allows me to copy as HTML, so I just copied (as HTML) and pasted your name from under your picture.

Oh, and mine wouldn't have worked the way you did it, anyway. There is no n in my nickname. (It's a lawyer thing.)

My aunt always gets me the worst gifts. She doesn't hate me or anything I just don't think she wants to spend money on her nieces and nephews. She shops constantly and has great taste. But I get the freebie gifts that come with her purchase. Like the tacky green and white palm tree tote bag, or the shiny gold mini make-up bag. I know it's the thought that counts but I am really tired of getting the junk she doesn't want just so she can say she got me a gift.

My sis is the crappy gift giver my family. One year for Christmas I got 20 things of hair spiking gel from the dollar store. I have long curly hair too. It was accompanied by a rubber chicken key chain. Year after that I recieved a copper colored pleather mini skirt and blue cami top. Skirt was a size 22-I wear 16. Top was a size medium-I have a D cup. She knows my sizes, but always HAS to be smaller so she buys me a larger size. Super excited to see what I get for my showerSmiley smile

Probably from my mother on my 15th birthday. She gave my a glass unicorn just like this one with a card that said, "I know how much you love unicorns!". Never in my life have I ever mentioned liking unicorns. It's now become a joke with the rest of my family. Pretty pathetic when your mother doesn't know what you like.

My worst wedding/shower gift was a weird ass porcelian frame with people's faces etched in it. No lie..it was a three slot picture frame of bright white porcelian (think way albino precious moments) with ugly gold inscriptions of marriage that they had done..I hope..it looked awful and then 2 faces. I do not have a picture of it because it is no longer in my house. It didn't even last 2 minutes haha DS laughed about it for about an hour. The non wedding gift was from my mom for my 21st bday. I was a ballerina growing up and quit around the time my dad died my jr year of hs. It was always a thing only between my dad and I..my mom hated that I did it (jealousy..) and for my 21st bday she got me a life size plush ballet doll with blonde hair (I'm def NOT blonde) and just ugly as could be. She keeps giving me ballet gifts and it just stings..I've told her and she always "forgets"..her and I don't have a solid relationship..
