Winter Venues Northern nj / nyc / Long Island

Christina, on December 14, 2020 at 6:30 PM Posted in New Jersey Planning 0 5

Hi everyone! Hoping for suggestions for winter wedding venues in the northern NJ (closer to the GWB), NYC, and Long Island area. We've seen a decent amount of places so far but I'm not in love with anything. My fiance says due to budget constraints we will have to compromise somewhere but I think the venue is something where we should love. Thoughts?

Lots of places we looked at and really like are out of budget or in budget but really dated/stuffy. We wanted an airy feel for an indoor wedding with a small outdoor space for pics and cigar smoking. We looked at conservatory type venues but it's either too expensive and/or the space is too small for the number of guests. HELP!

Thanks in advance!

Christina

P.S. I really don't like how this area is so expensive. We would like to keep it closer to home as most of our guests are in the area.

Have you considered having a summer wedding? I wouldn't risk an indoor winter wedding with 20 or more guests.

This is going to be in 2022 with the expectation/hope that the COVID situation will be under control.

    What's your budget?

We got married at Sunset Terrace on Chelsea Piers in summer 2019. They were quite reasonable, they're directly on the Hudson, and one whole wall can open up to a balcony over the river.

It's also VERY NYC... you have to go through a parking garage and an ice rink to get to them!

Also, check out the "Venues" tab, above. I cross-referenced here, the Knot, and google, to get a good overview.

Hi Christina! What's your budget and how big is your guest list?

Also have you taken a look at any country clubs in the area? Sometimes they'll have very reasonable rates! Take a look at the venues at The Newark Museum of Art, Atrium of Tenafly, The Graycliff, The Manor in West Orange, The Elan Catering and Events, Grill350, or off-peak times at Art Factory Studios in Paterson.
