~WILL YOU BE MY BRIDESMAID?~ ideas for boxes

LoLita, on October 31, 2013 at 2:21 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 37

Hello ladies!

I want to make Bridesmaids boxes...

1: How soon should I give them? (considering they already know )

2: What should I put in it?

3: this will totally be DIY

If you did boxes, PLEASE SHARE PICS! I would love to SEE some ideas. I have seen some of the same ones on pinterest and etsy.

THANKS!

Is that like a box where you will put your gifts for them?

I made some for mine, but they hated them so i may not be the best reference. I filled them with candy, a personalized jewelry case, a candle, a poem about friends, and a handwritten letter asking them to be in my wedding. They all said yes, immediately followed by "you suck at giving gifts, you know that, right?"

I didnt take any pics. Each box cost about $10 at Michaels and i gave them to them about a week after i got engaged

AWW Jakie that sounds so cute! I would have loved it! lol

I may steal the handwritten letter idea Smiley smile

I want to put a mini frame in it as well so they can put a pic in it from the wedding

I made them for my BMs. I put in an individual bottle of champagne, a bridesmaid shirt, a ring pop, and a magnet with a picture of us (ordered from Shutterfly). Then I printed out a "Will you be my bridesmaid" saying that I saw on Pinterest and wrote a handwritten note on the back. I tied the whole box closed with ribbon in our wedding color. They all seemed to like them.

I would say you're ok to go ahead and ask your bridesmaids to be in the wedding and give them the box. I asked mine soon after we got engaged, which was about 18 months out. I know some girls have regretted asking so they recommend waiting until within a year. I've lucked out and had great BMs.

I'm doing wishbone necklaces that say, "I WISH you would be my bridesmaid"... I bought gold necklaces and then changed my mind to silver... So, if anyone wants gold ones let me know! Smiley smile

I had little suitcases since I have a destination wedding. I filled it with makeup, travel stuff, tiara, beads, tutu (for the bachelorette) and I gave them a card asking them to be my maid.

I found them in Tj Maxx I think. Im sure of it, but I have seen them in Homegoods, Ross, everywhere... You could also use trunks, hat boxes,... when I filled them I wanted to put things that represented the year we will be spending. Please show us what you end up doing!!!

Awesome Raven! I like! and big enough to put everything in like WeddingdestinationItaly. you guys gave me some good ideas!

WeddingdestinationItaly ~ I think i will try some of those stores to find some stuff.

I bought a small box to practice with and tried to paint it, but the paint wasn't what I thought and the box is smaller than I need (after changing my mind a million times)

Here's what I did: Got regular ole plastic bins, lined them with tissue paper and filled them with a bunch of things that "Pop".....popcorn, ringpop, champagne, poptart, tootsie pop, bubbles, etc with the lid saying "Phill POPPED the question, now it's my turn..." and on the inside of the lid asked them to be my bridesmaid. I even sent these boxes in the mail as 2 of my girls are out of state
