Why do we hate The Knot, The Nest...etc.?

I don't go to that site. Between WW & GetMarried.com my poor overloaded brain can't think of any other sites. I am addicted to WW for sure, and I drop in on GM about 2-3 times a day whereas my WW is up any time I am online which is a LOT.

I started out on The Knot but those women were so catty. One of them all but called me white trash b/c I'm having a backyard wedding and didn't spend at least $5,000.00 on my dress.

It's not really that anyone likes or dislikes any other sites. We're just on WW cause it has everything we need. If it didn't, we'd be somewhere else.

Posts like this are just an invitation for drama between different sites. Let's all try to not start anything please, so we can avoid repeating history.

I go to various sites including the Knot. One of the things I like most about the Knot is they have regional message boards and they are very helpful to me.

I've never been on theknot's forum but I have spent an embarrassing number of hours looking at pictures on there and have gotten a lot of good ideas.

I do like The Knot for shopping though, they've got great deals. 100 personalized matchbooks for $25, can't beat that.

To put it nicely/keep it short, many of the ladies here feel as though the women in the forums there aren't welcoming. They like the feel of the forums here better. Many feel as though when they went onto those forums they were subject to online bullying/harassment. The sites themselves have some good resources, its the forums people have a problem with

The women on the knot are very catty and just kinda mean. They are very ettiquette oriented. So, if you wanted advice following strict ettiquette-they will give it to you...however, its not always given in the most appropiate and kind way. Ive been over there just lrking quite a bit and its a continual thing over there to be catty. They also dont take very well to newbies. If you head over there, I would recommend just lurking a lot for quite a while to see what kinds of things people get upset over and say before you jump right in with a post.

However, the local boards seem nice and I believe the DIY and budget board can be good and have good ideas.

Oh shoot...I posted just as everyone else was.....crap, Im not trying to stir up drama-hope my post didnt come across that way.

I agree with others the local boards can be very helpful and I stand by my original statement that If you do head over there, I recommend lurking for a good while to get the feel of whichever board you wish to post on.

I don't hate anything, esp a website, lol.

I use both sites - but I use these forums. Its all personal preference. Why do you use google and not yahoo? Gmail vs. hotmail?

Oh, have to say I haven't tried the nest or the bump - guess I'm not quite there yet.

WW rocks...theknot didn't do it for me!

As my mom would say its just different strokes for different folks.

Theknot has quite a selection of RUDE ladies. WW is much more friendly & fun!

I just saw the knot for the first time last night, I wasn't immediately drawn to it; it seemed a bit...busy, lol... I'll stay right here, got everything I need, and I love the positive energy

I use it for ideas... stick with WW for the forums. You ladies are the best.

I use the knot for their checklist..I like it a lot better only because things happen earlier than on other checklists...and I used it to give my BM and MOH a list of duties....their ideas overall area great.... I've never even tried their forum! didn't even realize it existed! I just know that this forum is great...very welcoming (I got my fourth star finally! yay!)

I personally don't use the Knot anymore because I did not feel I got the information I wanted. They have lots of great pictures there, but not a lot of useful information. I feel like a lot of it is hit or miss. That's just me. I did however really get a lot of information from their flower guide http://weddings.theknot.com/Real-Weddings/41166/view.aspx?id=41166 that was really useful.

I agree with Teresa, it seemed really busy, that's why i did not really like it. Just too much going on..but it has useful info, I like their budged calculator...
